Can't load the market or anything on the internet while on 3g but I only can on WiFi I'm in Boston anyone else having similar problems I cant load the market on WiFi either

So I dropped AT&T for the Incredible and my number successfully ported over, but I cannot connect to the Internet.I can make/receive calls and SMS, but no Internet besides wifi.I've been on with vzw support and went through reactivating the phone (*228) and a couple hard reset to no avail.They said it could have something to do with porting from AT&T, but I'm not understanding that connection.I don't have too much faith in support figuring out so I'm trying this forum. Does anyone have a clue how to resolve this or is it a defect with the phone.Some details: there is no 3G symbol near the signal status bars.Settings/Wireless & networks: shows "Mobile Network" with a green check, buts its grayed out so no action can be taken on it.Directly underneath "Mobile Network" it says "Turning on..." and it seems to flash that status every once in a while.

This started around two weeks ago and has now just started to annoy me. I have tried *228 both options and baseband is at 2.15, does anyone have any suggestions for what the problem is.
I seem to be seeing an issue with the data network access on the EVO. When it happens none of my applications get internet aceess and my mobile network status says "turning on". The only way I've found to fix it is to pull the battery. Any one else seeing this? If so is there a better fix than pulling the battery?

It used to lock to T-m*bile, I unlocked it lastweek then use L*bara instead cause got free internet service hehe. somehow, everytime i try to use internet service it says unable to connect to internet/ network unavailable. but I tried the simcard with another phone and it was working. some friends suggest me to re-unlock it. but i donno how to re-unlock it.

Sounds like my internet is broken? ITS NOT. whatsapp and opera mini, web browser is still working 100% and able to connect

turning sync of and on
clear the cache of various google apps
turning the phone off and on
The last action I did before it worked was to uninstall the 'microsoft outlook app'.
i got a new htc her and my network provider did the APN settings everything seem to work fine, mails, google mail, facebook , twitter - all services work well on both 3G and WIFI.ONLY THE BROWSER WORKS ON WIFI AND NOT ON THE 3G when i open browser on 3g it tells me PAGE NOT AVAILABLE.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI' ve been using a lot my Desire these days and absolutely love it.I surf the Internet a lot and just wanted to make sure if I get it all right:
1. If I only use the Mobile Network Internet on my phone that means I am using the Internet my provider (Orange in this case) gives me per month. I have 1GB limited Interned each month and therefore surfing the web through the Mobile Network option means I am draining from that 1GB limit.
2. If I only use the Wi-Fi Internet (when Mobile Network is OFF) on the phone that means I connect to (in this case) my home Internet router and use it to access Internet and therefore do not drain any of the 1GB limit I have per month.
Is that right? I use Internet a lot and don't want to end up paying huge bills to Orange.And last question- what happens if both options (Mobile Network and Wi-Fi) are turned ON? What Internet will I be using- Orange's or the one from my home Internet router?
Ive tried turning the phone off and also removing the battery but still no luck. It still says ''turning on'' when i go into settings.I dont no if theres something wrong with the phone as i don't think its the network because i can still make calls and the bars are stuck on two.I'm on orange and they normally have good reception/network.
View 49 Replies View RelatedExcuse me if this is due to my poor understanding of mobile internet.When in my office at work the signal bars on my phone will be either 2 or 3 out of 4. The 3G icon is also present.When, For example, I try to go onto the Market the connection seems very poor. The 3G icon will get the arrows showing that 3G data is being transferred and sometimes it will drop down to a H icon.I then get the message "A network error has occurred, retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen".This happens with all other apps, internet etc as well.I bought the phone with a orange PAYG from Carphone warehouse and put my Orange Monthly pay sim in.When I am outside or even in a different area of the office the internet works fine.If my phone was showing 1 bar and no 3G icon I would accept that it is just too bad signal in the office but as I have nearly full signal and the 3G icon is there another problem?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently brought a HTC Hero from Three (3) mobile on PAYG, unlocked it with no problems and got myself a sim only contract with T-Mobile.However I am trying to access the internet over the t-mobile network and it wont let me get anywhere, always bringing up the 'Web page is not availiable' screen. I have no issues running the internet over wi-fi and I am receiving calls and texts over the t-mobile network so I assume its not a sim issue (the contract includes data allowance btw). Also the sim that 3 mobile gave me with the phone accesses mobile internet perfectly.Does anyone on here have any suggestions as to what things I could try to rectify this problem.

Recently purchased the Desire and am happy as larry with the purchase. One small problem. It would appear it has issues with my networks APN settings. I'll it admit that I'm a little puzzled after staring at the APN settings for a while and adding the ips etc still not getting any luck. 2degrees (my provider) have attempted ota delivery but no luck. I got my HTC Hero the other day and am very very happy with it. The only problem is that I cannot connect to the internet through "Mobile Network". I am on a "3" contract and I am able to access "my 3" which is where I can look at my account, look at my last bill, check my usage, etc. I can also connect to 3 - Home - that loads fine. But any other website (google, bbc, facebook, etc.) will not load - it just times out after a while.
It seams obvious to me that this is an issue with my account on 3. I don't know how many hours I've been on the phone to these guys. I have gone through all the settings with them, more than twice - replaced my SIM card and tried my SIM in another phone. So Three are now looking into it and have passed my issue onto the network's team, now they said that it may take up to 21 days for someone to get back to me!
I just have a couple of quick questions regarding the 500MB anytime mobile internet browsing per month which I got included in my plan. When I use my Hero to go on the internet via my wifi at home- when it connects to my wireless router- does that count towards the 500mb or is that totally free? If so, is it the 3G when I don't have a wifi connection available that goes towards that 500mb? Sorry if it's a little obvious, but I don't wanna be going over my limit on internet and be paying a stupidly high amount!

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been a very happy HTC Magic user for exactly 6 months now but then a strange thing happened; I work up new year's day and I could no longer connect to internet or use my apps (and the 'G' network symbol has disappeared from my system tray). I thought the network (SFR in France) may have had a hangover from the night before but no, the problem persisted into day 2. I went into the SFR retail shop on 2 January and the assistant played with every option of my handset's menu for 20 minutes before declaring "I suggest you go home and reinstall the OS from the CD that would have come with the phone".. or at least that's what I think he said as my grasp of French is not absolute. He also offered to send the phone away to reset it or something.
I am convinced, though, I didn't get a CD with the HTC because the box is only half the width of a CD! I recall a USB type cable in the box though. So I turned to these forums and tried the advice given previously by Carl C but that didn't help. I've tried every logical option in the phone's settings (and the 'G' icon does appear for half a second in the system tray after I change/save a setting, before disappearing again) so I'm convinced the problem does not lie there. I am even considering uninstalling some of my recent apps in case they may have inadvertantly caused this problem............
My Epic 4G just lost all connection to the internet about an hour ago. Out of the blue, so to speak. I was browsing, set it down, then when I used it again it wouldn't connect. My browser, facebook, and any other connection required apps throw error messages saying - "connection error", "no connection". I've reset the phone several times, and as far as for the network settings, everything looks set the way it always is. I have done nothing to the network settings/options to have accidentally messed it up myself. I am connected via 3G, and this network problem is new to me. This phone has been nothing but constant problems and this is the newest one in a long list.

The problem is that after I successfully connect to my network, I am unable to browse the internet, access the Market, or use any music apps which require internet access. I have verified that my phone is capable of doing all of this while connected to an unsecured wifi network, however, my network is secured. I'm not sure if that's what the issue is.A little bit of info about my home network - I have a Motorola SBG900 cable modem w/built-in wireless access. I have it setup for b/g network, WPA/PSK, etc. The strange thing about this is that I have two laptops, & my iPad setup on the same wireless network and all of them are able to access the network with no issues.

I am on a debranded Orange handset running Android 2.2. Had the phone for around 4 months without issue. I went to London last weekend and started noticing problems with the mobile internet. I was largely relying on it to get me around but the mobile internet is playing up. Even if I have H or 3G signal, my phone has suddenly stopped getting internet access or i get network errors. Nothing has changed on my handset and I usually get good signal wherever I go. I'm currently in work where I always get 3G symbol. I have the 3G symbol now with both arrows animated yet my web browser won't load anything and the market place just says I have no network access. Could this be something to do with the Orange/T-Mobile merge? Or has my phone died on me?

View 1 Replies View Relatedmy WiFi on my Evo has been acting up, so I went and restarted modem and router, turned off WiFi on Evo, battery pull Evo, then as a last resort, I updated my router's firmware (since its been over a year since update =/) so I figured maybe that would solve something. Nope, can't even update Twitter, Facebook, get on internet. I did update on 6/28 and everything went smooth and my WiFi was working then. I have done nothing since and then all of a sudden, last night and today WiFi wont work.
I guess to explain this better, I can connect to my router, Evo shows that I'm connected with Good/Excellent connection and 55 mbps, but its like no internet connectivity, Facebook, Twitter, Internet, nothing. Like I've said up until last night everything was working until now. Did the update on 6/28 just slowly kill my WiFi?
