My 3 month old hero ( 3 UK - 1.6 ) has just stopped detecting ANY wi-fi signals. I haven't rooted. I have removed the battery and removed then reinstalled the we-fi application. I toggle on/ off / on the wi-fi and the phone indicates this as being on. My next idea is to factory reset the phone and if that does not work to send it back to 3.

This happened when I turned on my phone I was brought to a bios screen like where you can test or kind of change settings. Didn't know what I did coz what I want is to get out of that screen. I may have changed something. All I want now is to access that screen again but I tried all the buttons upon start up but won't bring me to that screen. Unit is Arc Mobile.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a lot of issues with my device. It hangs frequently and the WiFi signal is weak and drops after a few minutes no matter what. I have the latest firmware so that isn't the problem. Many apps seem to run in the background even though I didn't start them and when I exit them the right way with the back button they're still running. What to do? I like the phone but it doesn't seem very stable so far.

However, I need to remove all the Ad Hoc points. The android.net.wifi.ScanResult api does not seem to have any information on "mode" of the network. I've reconfigured the network to try to solve this problem -- my laptop is working great on the Belkin N, but numerous attempts at adding a new wi-fi network to Eris have been unsuccessful. And Bluetooth isn't much better. I did get Eris to pair and connect with my headset, and I actually got it to pair with my laptop, but with the laptop, it says "paired but no connected", even when the laptop's reading indicate that there is a connection. I've checked and rechecked configuration, ensured that both PC and Eris were able to be discovered, scanned and re-scanned, but Eris still won't detect my network. My computer, though, does detect Eris as a wireless device.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm on the Orange network and am having problems with the 3G network. Various apps (Facebook, Market, Head to Head & Internet Browser) will only download data when there is a connection to the HSDPA signal.
The 3G signal has shown as 3 or 4 bars but will consistently not download any data. Once the HSDPA signal is found, then the download starts. This can be frustrating as there isn't always a HSDPA signal.
Is it possible to share HTC HERO GPS signals/coordinates to a PC/Laptop via USB cable to integrate with Google earth? I noticed it sometime back one of my friend using his Nokia (I remember it was N97 � but not 100% sure) phone to do this and also remember he said the latest Google Earth version will support this feature.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI searched but didn't find anything like this. Wifi on my Evo just doesn't work anymore. I've restarted, cycled all the radios (3G, 4G, BT, etc) on and off thinking something might be hung somewhere, but nothing seems to work. I told it to "forget" my router and then re-entered the password, but it still will not connect to my router either at work or at home. The service will start, but it will not connect to any networks. I'm sure it's some setting or perhaps some app I installed, but I figured while I dig deeper into the issue, it couldn't hurt to start a thread here and perhaps get some suggestions. this is nuts, but I hit the sunken "reset" button on the router and now everything works great again. I'm pleased to know there was nothing wrong with the phone, but perplexed about the router. I guess I'll have to dig into the router settings and see if I can figure out what went wrong.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the froyo upgrade 2 days ago and it seems to have stopped my wifi working. Its not a problem with the router as other devices work on the router. I also checked my desire on other wifi networks and there is no connection to the internet. I manually put in the ip address and the wifi icon comes up but still no link to the internet. When I use my3G mobile internet everything works so it can only be a bug with froyo upgrade.

It sees it and connects to it, but can't browse the web or update from other apps, etc. Rebooted phone and told it to "forget" my connection and reset it. Nothing helped. Other computers in the house connect fine.

If i then leave the house and return the wi-fi fails to reconnect automatically. This has only happened since i carried out the update and noticed someone else on another thread has exactly the same problem on vodafone eforum. Is there a solution? Currently i need to turn wi-fi off and back on again and it works, not the end of the world but a pain since it used to work so well! I've tried y5 to try and force it, to no avail and carried out a reset (not full factory just remove battery etc).

Allshare video playback from other devices over wifi just stopped working. It was totally fine and I have absolutely no idea what happened. It still plays music and shows photos and all the files stored on external devices. The only problem is that it won't play video. It plays video stored locally or on sd card just fine, but when I want to play anything from my note 2 (n7105) or my pc's allshare app, video player shows error message: "Cannot play video. This video cannot be played".
It plays the same files just fine, when I copy them to the device, so I think it might be the case of some transcoding error. It is not a case of network settings - I've checked on 4 different wifi networks and it's the same everywhere. My note 2 works just fine on any wifi and plays all video from tablet or pc. Here is what I tried so far, with no results:
1. Restoring to factory defaults,
2. Wiping cache and dalvik cache,
3. Flashing fresh stock rom,
4. Erasing all allshare apps and video player data
N8020 & N7105 (JB 4.1.2 rooted + stock)
My Hero takes a long time to connect to my home wifi. I usually go in to the settings and hit "Scan" repeatedly before it connects. Sometimes it fails connect, and I have to go into Settings to try again. Is there a way/app to scan automatically or re-attempt to connect again? Maybe there's something I'm not thinking of?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had the Hero since October 9 and never had a problem syncing my AOL email with my Hero. I have had it set to sync every 15 minutes and all worked well. About a week ago I started noticing issues with not getting my messages consistently and I started seeing a message below the emails saying "Get More Messages ____ messages total on server" (I don't recall seeing this message before). If the number of messages on the server is greater than what I have on my phone, I can manually sync and they will down load. Sometimes my messages will sync, but not consistently. As I type this I see that I was showing 9 messages and the server had 11 so I manually synced and two more messages downloaded to the phone but they were from over an hour ago. I have tried deleting the account and re-setting it up but that doesn't seem to correct the issue.
(BTW, my exchange messages still sync fine).
My HTC Hero just stopped working, it will not turn on or charge or do anything. I was on my computer with it sitting on the desk working fine then when I went to check it, nothing. It has no power to it at all. Does anyone know what this problem is?

Is there a way to detect when the GPS has lost signal (when I drive through a tunnel for example)? I tried to use te on Status Changed listener because I thought that the "temporarily unavailable" status was associated to a lack of signal but it doesn't seem to work well. I also tried to make a count with low precision locations rounds to trigger but it also fails.

Now that I did the update to froyo 2.2 and my flash wasn't working right, I had to do a factory reset and everything work perfectly and I had the internet running normal, but after later than day I start loosing signal on locations were I usually have full signal, turn of my phone and took out the battery and wait and waited and been doing this for a while. So connections comes on and off, when its on its about 5 to 20 seconds before my internet connections goes down after. Is the task killer messing up my connection even though, I always had a task killer before the update and never lost signal or connection?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had horrible lag ever since I got my vibrant from market, web, email everything. I even thhought about returning it, BUT I solved my problem(at least mine). I was at t-mobile vibrantforum and one post saying that factory reset will fix this problem. I gave it a try, and BANG! My phone is lag free. If you have lag problem, give it a try. I know its pain, reinstalling all the apps, but having lag all the time is much bigger pain. Also, I had trouble getting decent 3g signal, and I unchecked data roaming, and I am getting much better 3g signal too.

If I force close it tries to go back to the desktop but yet again it crashes. If I reboot the phone everything will work yet again. Is there a way to see some log or something to see what's happening?
My htc hero seems to have locked up trying to access the internet the green bar has stopped about a tenth the way across the screen dont know if its the phone or network ican still send texts and make calls I'm with 3 any ideas of a fix/reset or a way to determine if its the phone or network.
