I have a lot of issues with my device. It hangs frequently and the WiFi signal is weak and drops after a few minutes no matter what. I have the latest firmware so that isn't the problem. Many apps seem to run in the background even though I didn't start them and when I exit them the right way with the back button they're still running. What to do? I like the phone but it doesn't seem very stable so far.

I own the i9000 about a week nowI noticed that the wifi reception is very bad compared with my iPhone 3GS(even in my house i have one bar;and i have to stick the phone to the router D-LINK to have full bars)I want to know is it "normal" is it an individual problem or all the devices had the same issue ?Is it related to hardware or software bug ?Can this problem be solved with Froyo ?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am using the Galaxy grand I9082 Duos. I have a simple problem in WIFI signal strength, on this device signal strength showing very weak for a distance of 3 to 4 meets away from the wifi router in the next room. But Laptop shows good strength at same point.
If I take my mobile close to router shows very good strength.
Have a Samsung galaxy s Fascinate.Recently installed new wireless N network at house which is working fine.I get a great strong signal all over the house on my laptop from the network.With my Fascinate however,I get a very weak signal in most places, and only a fair signal when standing close to the router.Very annoying as my 3G connection in my house is not so great either.Anyone else having this issue?Any known solutions?

It generally restarts when i launch some apps like Cam scanner , What's app , Offline dictionary .It doesn't restart when i open the app . In what's app it restarts during conversations .Its not restarting all the time , usually it works OK .

In our alltel contract, all my family lines get unlimited data for $40 a month. My parents are looking to upgrade their regular phones (for free) and I was going to recommend the eris (from amazon) to them. I have heard some talk of not having very good signal and mention of some bugs and want to know how much truth there is behind these (especially signal) or if they were lemons, etc. if it matters all my parents would do is call/text (obviously), email sync, and maybe browse the web every once in a while. Bugs with, say face book, wouldn't matter.

I have removed the battery and removed then reinstalled the we-fi application. I toggle on/ off / on the wi-fi and the phone indicates this as being on. My next idea is to factory reset the phone and if that does not work to send it back to 3.

I hardly get any bars, one if I'm lucky. So I got to thinking about all the apps available for the droid phones. And I started to wondering if there is any way to use my wifi connection to help me get out on my cell phone. Or if there is an app out to help with this.

Example I am at work and I will be connected to a hot spot on one side of the building, I go over to the other side of the building and the signal strength is weak and there is a new hot spot next to me that is extremely strong but the phone stays connected to the weak signal until I go and switch it manually to the new hot spot.

Anyone else seeing this issue? It was also happening when I was on Skyraider 2.5.2.
When I flash back to stock with HD2 stock rom I notice the wifi stays connected to my connectify connection until I disconnect it myself but after I flash to TyphooN_CM7_v3.8.1-MAGLDR the wireless works for about 1 minute and drops but still shows as connected on the HD2 until I disconnect and reconnect again and it repeats.
Is it a problem with connectify, the radio I flashed to is _2.15.50.14 ?
New to Eris and have set up Wifi to connect to home router (Verizon FIOS Actiontec). Successfully connected (accepted WEP) but get very weak signal and then lose connection. I've turned off "Mobile Network" but still have this problem. I am one room away from router and receive full signal on iMac and printer but only a dot under the Wifi symbol on the Eris. Exchanged a Motorola Droid (which received and held full signal -- as did my prior iPhone)) for Eris. VZW tech support clueless and immediately sent me to HTC support. While they tried (had some not very good explanations -- battery not pushing enough power) still nothing working. Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated -- this is the only downside right now.

I've looked through as many threads as I could and tried the advice I found, but still no luck. The phone seems incredibly slow all the time. I came from a Palm pre, which had issues itself, but the Hero seems so much slower. Opening apps takes time, even the phone takes time. I've installed and app killer, no luck. I've reset the phone to factory settings, no luck. I've updated preferences, deleted apps, reset phone. still nothing. I read and was told that the Hero was faster than the Pre, but mine doesn't seem that way. Wifi always drops when connected to my home router. My wife Sprint phone always stays connected, but not mine. I reset the router, disconnected and reconnected the phone, tried all advice that I could find. Nothing. Visual voicemail doesn't work with bluetooth. I was told that this may not be a phone issue, but rather that the application doesn't allow bluetooth. Can anyone confirm?

I connect to my windows 7 pc and it is fine for surfing the web but if i download torrents it works for a couple minutes then i can see the 3g icon go away and come back over and over. But i download torrents fine if i use pdanet to tether.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI think I figured out why sometimes my Droid stays on for 1.5 days and sometimes after 6 hour of just being idle the battery is drained.
When wifi is turned on an connected to a network, the cellular signal is way low and it just drains the battery.
I have recently picked up a Samsung Galaxy S Captivate (Android 2.1) on Rogers Wireless. I've been having an issue with the wifi on it, it only works intermittently when I'm at home. It will connect to my network without issues, but none of the data-enabled apps can access anything, they just time out. While this is happening my old iPhone (recent android convert) and my Nintendo Wii are able to connect flawlessly. This ONLY happens when I'm at home on my own network from what I've seen, when I'm on the wifi at my work everything works fine. Has anyone seen issues like this or have any suggestions as to what may be causing it? FYI I have tried different wifi channels, currently my router is setup to use TKIP on WPA2 for encryption.
View 5 Replies View RelatedApparently the new iPhone will stay connected to wifi even while the screen is locked.This is nice because with my current iPhone,I use about 3-4 megs of data a day even if I never leave my house (which has wifi).It would be nice if the Captivate didn't do that since I have the 200-meg plan with AT&T and I'd like to use my data for web surfing, not checking for email in the background. View 3 Replies View RelatedI had horrible lag ever since I got my vibrant from market, web, email everything. I even thhought about returning it, BUT I solved my problem(at least mine). I was at t-mobile vibrantforum and one post saying that factory reset will fix this problem. I gave it a try, and BANG! My phone is lag free. If you have lag problem, give it a try. I know its pain, reinstalling all the apps, but having lag all the time is much bigger pain. Also, I had trouble getting decent 3g signal, and I unchecked data roaming, and I am getting much better 3g signal too.

Does anyone have a resolution for this? Perhaps static IP? if this is the answer, what should the settings be?
I couldn't help but notice that the signal strength of my new Captivate was kinda weak. Holding it side by side to my brother's iPhone 4 I had three bars (usually 2), while my brother has a full five bars. I know it can be any number of things, but I feel that it's probably something like the GPS, where it needs some sort of fix.I was just wondering if anyone had a similar problem, or have any ideas of how to fix it.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've had the Vibrant for a couple days now.Unfortunately, I have a VERY weak 3G signal and my call quality really isn't that great.In my house, when I hold my phone right next to my Dad's Nuron, he has a full 3G signal while I have 0 bars.That is frustrating to see.The phone isn't incapable of having 3G signal, when I travel outside of my neighborhood it usually has a very strong signal.It seems that whenever I am around a lot of trees or in buildings, the signal is very weak.I mostly just have an Edge signal.Also, the call quality is terrible. I don't think it has to do with the signal because even when I have full 3G bars, it still sucks.

But then when I try to browse any webistes I get a 404 error and if I try syncing facebook or anything else I get an error saying the server could not be contacted. wireless works fine on my mum's laptop and the phone is showing up in the devices list of my router's interface.
