Aug 15, 2009My PC will only read the microSD card (2GB one supplied with the phone) installed in my HTC Hero if I remove the card from the phone and plug it directly into the computer.
If I simply attach the USB cable, a 'D:' drive appears, but I get the error message "Please insert a disk into drive D".
I used the card as is, and did not 'format' it first; should I have done this?

Jun 29, 2010After the update last night to 2.1. I can only read the files on the sd card. Deleting is not possible. Did a format with the phone and copied all over on the card, no luck. Putting the card in the PC. I can do everything with the files, copie, delete and so on. Then did a format with the pc fat32 and copied all back, again on the phone only read only.

Oct 15, 2009Surfing the web is an overall nightmare on the Hero. Its laggy and the font is all jacked up. Very hard to read unless you zoom way in. Are others having issues with this? I also have an iphone 3GS and there is no comparison in terms of browsing. I have also noticed youtube videos are pretty choppy on the Hero. Is there a fix for this?

Mar 18, 2010I know this is posted all over android forums, but I just wanted to see if there is a solution yet. I get 30-40 emails a day in my gmail account (the only account I use). I typically check them on a PC, but if I am out of the office, I will check them on my Sprint HTC Hero. If I have read the email on my PC, there is no reason for me to open it on my phone except to update the notifications as to how many emails I have left.It would be nice to keep my notifications up-to-date as to how many unread emails i have. So when my phone shows that I have, say, 30 new emails, is there a way to go into the basic mail application, select all emails, and mark them as read? Or do I have to do it one by one. Or is there an app on the market that has better functionality for email and I can ditch the standard one.

Sep 5, 2009I just received in the post a new class 6 microsd card 8gig. Now, when I remove the the card I got with the phone, I first unmount it in the settings then physically remove it. I get notifications telling me this too. When I install the new card nothing happens and I get no notifications.

Jun 24, 2010i got this problem recently after installing a bunch of new app, till this point with all app & wi-fi on ,it took about a day to recharge,when i used my phone with all functions, but now: i uninstalled most of those new app,i turn wi-fi,gps,3g off,kill all background tasks with task panel,even so, with a full charge battery in STAND-BY, it takes just about 3-4 hours for battery to be empty! any solution please? i can't use my phone in real way any more because if i brows internet or use any app it is gonna empty in less then 2 hours,battery app tell me battery has excellent health too? the only new app that i didn't uninstalled is battery widget itself,could it be the source of this problem? the other change i had were: i gave quick access(show application in notification bar) for "toggle setting" & "task panel".

Sprint HTC Hero :: How To See Full Addresses In Contacts Without The Map It Option
Feb 17, 2010I recently wanted to get some addresses I have stored in contacts and found that they only show up as "show on map". The problem is, quite a few of my addresses are really long and you can't see the whole address under the "show on map" option, and I don't want to map it! I just want to see it so I can write it on an envelope. I guess I could map it every time I need an address, which is a waste of time, but even then, some of the addresses are in other countries and the map func. fails the address disappears before I get a chance to write down all the info. Is there a way to actually view the entire address without the map part?
On a side note, does anyone know why I can't sync birthday info for contacts from google contact's? Mine never show up, I only get Facebook birthdays.
And while I'm at it, even thought I use mybackup pro, when I have to do a hard reset, all my stored ringtones for contacts disappear and i have to program them all in again.
