Does anyone know of the weather app that does full screen visual for the 1.5 ROM? For example on the video of the EVO, the sun shows up under the clock and the rays are animated full screen. Clouds example and vid in the links below:

I left my 3GS for the Moment but liked the Hero better when it came down to it, I love it, it's amazing and better imo, etc. Now, when I go to YouTube and click play it plays the video in the fullscreen flash player. It's no big deal, but is there a way to make it play without going fullscreen?

View 5 Replies View RelatedIs it just me or is anybody else having problems with the weather disappearing from their home screen? It started after I upgraded to 2.1. Underneath the clock it just goes blank and i have to go into weather and refresh for it to come back. Then a little while later it will be blank again.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have it set up update hourly, and it will show it to be sunny, even until 8PM sometimes 9PM.It's not exactly sunny at that time of day, I'd more expect to see the moon by that time of evening.Is this just weird, or is it just using the "official" sunset time of 8 something and calling it sunny until then? I'm a very new Hero user.I'm within my 30 days, and very tempted to take my Hero back and get a Evo, but, don't want to spend the extra $$ for the Evo, and don't need the extra monthly expense either!

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust wondering if anyone else is experiencing a problem with the full screen weather widget where when you scroll to it it says "Loading Data" then goes completely blank and then cant do anything with it. Removing the widget and re-adding makes it work again a reboot also brings it back to life for a couple of seconds but then goes blank. Clicking on the weather picture on the clock still brings up the details weather screen.

I think I had read about this update somewhere a few days ago. It kept on shilling an add-on service from Sprint for voicemail to text transcription service. I do not mind being asked once about a service because I can just decline. However, this advertisement insists on on rearing its ugly head every time you restart your handset and go to use the Visual Voicemail app again.

Am I missing something or can I only use the google visual voice mail with my google #? I cannot seem to figure out how to pick up my voice mail when people call my cell phone.

What I want to know is, what do people think about the Sprint visual voicemail that comes on the Hero as it compares to google's VM. Besides transcription, are there any benefits? I've flashed gapps, and vvm and gapps is working great, vvm not so much.. am I doing something wrong? I've gotten 4 texts to tell me I have voicemail but I'm not able to get them w/vvm. I love this theme and I don't want to have to change it due to vvm problems!
I just want to know if I am having a problem or if their Hero does not support this feature? My BT works fine for everything else I have tried but will not let me listen to VVM playback.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone and put fresh 1.1 on it a couple days ago, it received calls after rooting, but recently it stopped receiving calls, and it never received texts or visual voice mails. Gmail still pushes new email to it, and the internet works fine to update things and look at websites.
I tried to restore with nandroid and it took fresh off of it but it still doesn't do text, don't know about calls but i doubt it. also when i rooted it i removed sprint tv, nascar, foot prints and a couple other stock apps. after i found it wasn't getting texts i removed advanced task killer, but it didn't have any effect.
I have noticed that when I listen to voice mails through visual voicemail they sound scratchy, quite, computerized or fuzzy, but when I go to the phone and dial my voicemail the sound quality is great, loud and clear!
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I receive a voice mail, it shows up in the visual voice mail application like it always does. Everything is normal EXCEPT ... When I play the voice mail I hear nothing. The time bar moves as it is playing, but nothing can be heard. This has been happening for the past 3 days. I then have to access my VMs through the traditional "Dial #1" portal. I love visual VM though, and would like to fix this. Does anyone know what the problem might be and/or have had this problem before?
Note: I am not using a task killer, and I don't even have one downloaded on my UNROOTED Hero.
Is there a weather app out there that actually works? It seems like every one that I have tried works for a while and then either stops updating or the widget quits working.

I recently wanted to get some addresses I have stored in contacts and found that they only show up as "show on map". The problem is, quite a few of my addresses are really long and you can't see the whole address under the "show on map" option, and I don't want to map it! I just want to see it so I can write it on an envelope. I guess I could map it every time I need an address, which is a waste of time, but even then, some of the addresses are in other countries and the map func. fails the address disappears before I get a chance to write down all the info. Is there a way to actually view the entire address without the map part?
On a side note, does anyone know why I can't sync birthday info for contacts from google contact's? Mine never show up, I only get Facebook birthdays.
And while I'm at it, even thought I use mybackup pro, when I have to do a hard reset, all my stored ringtones for contacts disappear and i have to program them all in again.
All of a sudden, the weather on my home screen w/ htc scene/rosie display wont automatically update, i have to click it, then refresh it for it to update, & when i go to the settings, & check the automatic updates it doesn't stay checked, b/c when i go back to settings, its unchecked, & i can check it again, back out, & go back, & its unchecked again.
View 7 Replies View RelatedAnyone using Genie.apk (News and Weather Widget)? I installed the widget for "Weather" and it has been working well, until yesterday. It just says "Sorry, unable to connect, Please try later." And there is a "Retry Now" Button. Pressing retry says "loading" but then returns the same message. I have deleted and reinstalled the widget with the same results. Hopefuly it is just a server issue, and will be fixed shortly.

When the weather disappears I still have a internet connection. I noticed it today that I was having this problem. I contacted Sprint just to get this notated on my account. I read this on the forum before but I can't find it. How can I stop this from happening?

On my old WinMo phone, there was a way to expand the database of cities by modifying some Manila files. Is there a similar course of action for Android phones? I perused the files on the Hero (ROM and SD) but didn't see any obvious candidates to change.
