HTC Hero :: Full Charge Battery In STAND BY - Get Empty
Jun 24, 2010i got this problem recently after installing a bunch of new app, till this point with all app & wi-fi on ,it took about a day to recharge,when i used my phone with all functions, but now: i uninstalled most of those new app,i turn wi-fi,gps,3g off,kill all background tasks with task panel,even so, with a full charge battery in STAND-BY, it takes just about 3-4 hours for battery to be empty! any solution please? i can't use my phone in real way any more because if i brows internet or use any app it is gonna empty in less then 2 hours,battery app tell me battery has excellent health too? the only new app that i didn't uninstalled is battery widget itself,could it be the source of this problem? the other change i had were: i gave quick access(show application in notification bar) for "toggle setting" & "task panel".

Feb 18, 2010Just the other day I noticed that all of the sudden when I select an app to start from my home screen or other side screens it looks different. Normally when you select an app, a green box appears around the selected app and then disappears when it starts. Now the square has become an ugly rectangle. It looks like a return has been inserted or something. Now selecting an app places a massive green space below the app icon.Anyone else come across this issue? Is this just another bug that 1.6, 2.0 and now 2.1 were supposed to fix with me stuck on 1.5 thanks to the morons at Sprint?

Oct 2, 2010Before I even rooted my phone, my charger was having issues charging. At the end of the part that goes into the phone, the black cord fell back and the wires are exposed. It's been like this since late March/April. I'd have to mess with angling the phone in order for it to charge, but once it did, it was solid. I rooted my phone thursday night and put fresh on it. Then yesterday I decided that it wasn't fast enough and I jumped from CM6 to PureHero. All the while it charged, but I still had to mess with it. Now that I've left it on PureHero (although overall, I still haven't found a satisfactory ROM) my phone won't charge at all. Like, when I finally CAN get the light to glow orange, it'll be stuck at the same percentage. I woke up at like 3 in the morning and discovered this so I kept the battery out for the remainder of the night, woke up and put it back in but it's still stuck at the same percentage. Is it the ROM I'm using? Did I fry my battery somehow? Or is it solely the charger? I want to know before I go and buy a new batter/charger.

I know its "slower charge" because the computer also allows data transfer and mounting of the sd card, but maybe theres a possible way to shut that off? Also, would a double USB port cord that are used for external hard drives improve charge time at all? Two normal sized USB coming from computer to the miniUSB port on hero.

Jun 10, 2010I posted a thread about my battery life earlier this week, and I thank all the for the help! Here is another issue I am having that may be related. My phone takes forever to charge. Example: used my phone heavily this morning from 5:30 am till around 9am. Came home, battery was down to 15% or so. Plugged it into the AC charger around 10am, went outside and mowed the yard, etc. Finally checked the phone around 4pm, and it was still charging. Battery was showing 90% or so. Shouldn't it fully charge in around 2 hours or less? I did some research and found some people having charging issues after they upgraded to 2.1, which I did right after I got the phone. I did check with my local RS where I got the phone, and the guy I spoke with has a Hero, and his does not do this. He suggested I go to a Sprint store and have them look at it.

Sprint HTC Hero :: How To See Full Addresses In Contacts Without The Map It Option
Feb 17, 2010I recently wanted to get some addresses I have stored in contacts and found that they only show up as "show on map". The problem is, quite a few of my addresses are really long and you can't see the whole address under the "show on map" option, and I don't want to map it! I just want to see it so I can write it on an envelope. I guess I could map it every time I need an address, which is a waste of time, but even then, some of the addresses are in other countries and the map func. fails the address disappears before I get a chance to write down all the info. Is there a way to actually view the entire address without the map part?
On a side note, does anyone know why I can't sync birthday info for contacts from google contact's? Mine never show up, I only get Facebook birthdays.
And while I'm at it, even thought I use mybackup pro, when I have to do a hard reset, all my stored ringtones for contacts disappear and i have to program them all in again.

Aug 21, 2010I usually charge my phone overnight, so plug it in and let it charge until i get up on a morning.However I'm noticing when I unplug it, the battery drops almost instantly to between 96 and 91%. I'm thinking this is a case of overcharging? Its just happened to me now, so I've turned the phone off, let it charge and as soon as the orange light turns green I'll unplug it and turn it on and see what happens.Anyone else any experience of this? Jun 19, 2010I am new to the android, migrating over from blackberry. The first thing I have noticed is a considerable difference in battery. On my bb from tmobile, I was getting a day or 2 of battery life with a lot of use. Hundreds of text a day, emails (2 accounts), talk, and web browsing. I got my mytouch 3g slide yesterday it charged for about 6 hours. I took it off the charger around 9-930 at night. I played with for a while, went to bed and got up and it was at less then 30%. Now when i went to bed, i was only missing a little bit of battery. I didn't think it would drain that much overnight with no use. That is going to be a serious problem because of the amount i use my phone. I am currently charging again. Does it take a couple of charges before the battery life will reach it's peak? Also with my bb, i was getting 1 bar of signal and constantly switching from 3g, to edge, to gprs. With MT3g, i am getting 1-2 bars. Does poor signal drain the battery faster?
