As soon as I got my phone I purchased a 16gb sd card. I then filled the card up with music but my phone only seems to recognise all the Artists up to and including C. D onwards is simply not there on my phone, but there on SD when I put it in my computer?

I just received in the post a new class 6 microsd card 8gig. Now, when I remove the the card I got with the phone, I first unmount it in the settings then physically remove it. I get notifications telling me this too. When I install the new card nothing happens and I get no notifications.

Files like MS word, Adobe, notepad etc are being detected, but when tried to open, it says application not found. I have downloaded sd card reader from market, but still the same problem. I am still using my old phone because of this.

If I simply attach the USB cable, a 'D:' drive appears, but I get the error message "Please insert a disk into drive D".
I used the card as is, and did not 'format' it first; should I have done this?
After the update last night to 2.1. I can only read the files on the sd card. Deleting is not possible. Did a format with the phone and copied all over on the card, no luck. Putting the card in the PC. I can do everything with the files, copie, delete and so on. Then did a format with the pc fat32 and copied all back, again on the phone only read only.

View 9 Replies View Relatedso I transfered some songs to my phone from pc yesterday but some of them were in the wrong album and I wanted to transfer them to the right album, Im wondering how you do this ON the HERO. I dont like having to go to my comp to edit the album or name of a song. I was able to do this on my N81 and my hero is supposed to be an upgrade to that and I dont want to feel like I upgraded everything but my music support. Or will I need to mount the card in my computer and copy all of the photos and stuff she wants to save, let Android reformat the card, mount it in the computer and transfer the stuff back onto the card? Meridian and Cubed only read the music that's on the SD card, and while the music player that came with the phone reads both, it can't play FLAC or apple lossless files (DoubleTwist does neither). Is there any way to either reconfigure Meridian or Cubed, is there anyway to get the music player that came with the phone to play those formats, or is there some other player that reads all the data AND plays those formats.

( it wasnt a samsung.i forgot what it was), and for a while, it was working fine in the new phone. however every once in a while, pictures,videos and music get corrupted and i dont know why.( i would save it to cloud,but it takes an extremely long time even with wifi. google+ backs up alot of ny files for me,but idk if it backs up audio.)
somehow the phone messes up my files. at first, music that i had already saved on the external SD card i could listen to(although some songs were corrupted and skipped a lot),but any new music had to be in the phone, or else i couldnt play it. now,NONE of the music can be on the exteral card so i have to move it to the phone just to hear it. id rather keep my music on my external SD card,so i could move it whenever i get a new phone.
Basically what I want to do is to be able to plug my phone into my computer and transfer or sync my songs to my sd card like you would an ipod. Is this possible already? or do I need an app? If so, which app would I need?
View 36 Replies View RelatedI've tried re-adding the songs twice now and every time it deletes a BUNCH of the songs. The only place I've noticed this was with Cascada. I have about 40 songs of hers that I tried to add and when I disconnect the phone from my computer and view the Music list, it only has 3, the same 3 every time. I'm putting the files on my SD card in MP3 > Cascada in their separate album folders. It keeps the folders and AlbumArt.jpg files but deletes the songs! Why is it doing this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI picked up my Droid 2 this past Saturday, and immediately ordered a 16GB Transcend Class 6 micro SD card for it. To install it, I plugged my Droid into my PC (Linux machine), un-hid all the hidden files, copied them to my desktop, then disconnected the Droid, took the stock card out, plugged the new card in, and copied the files back. After a reboot of the Droid, everything seemed OK.The problems started while copying songs onto the Droid. The copy process froze, and ever since, the phone had problems with this card. It's sluggish, and hangs on shut-down.Is there a proper way to upgrade to a new card that I don't know about? The guys at the Verizon store didn't have any ideas.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI uploaded 100 songs to my SD card from my PC. When I opened the music player app in the phone, it shows all 100 songs. So I opened up the songs list, picked a song and it played just fine. After the song I hit the forward button to play the next song (next song of the 100 that I had on there) and it played the same song again. So upon looking at the music player it now showed "1/1" at the top, instead of "1/100". It's like it's locked on that 1 song. If I go into the menu I can see all my songs, and I can choose/play them individually, but I can't have all 100 songs chosen, so that they'll just play one after the other. How do I make the music player show all 100 songs again? I just want to open up the music player, hit play, and sit back & enjoy the next 100 songs playing one after the other. I don't want to have to select each one individually to play. (Hopefully this wasn't too confusing).

It started last night. I got an email and "Glory Days" starts playing after the phone vibrated. I got an email and some other song started. This afternoon I get a call and Dr. Dre starts playing!
In every case, this was not the set ringtone, nor even in the ringtone list! These are songs from my SD card! - What the heck! Any idea how this could have happened? If it was all my SMS or email or calls, I would say its an app, but its been Everything!
im not talking about streaming songs, just playing songs that you own and transfered to your SD card to the music folder? are you just using the stock "music player" app or have you found something better
View 12 Replies View RelatedI don't know if this is a problem with using double twist to sync music then the default player to play it, but i recently wiped all my phones music using double twist media sync program and then put some more music on... after this i went into the default music player and it was very lagy and showed songs that i had removed with double twist but when i went to play them it would play a random song that was on the phone... does anyone know how to get the media player on droid x to rescan your SD card so i can realize that some songs are gone now?

At the notification bar, it says the sd card is mounted as read only. The phone gives me the option to try to fix it. It tries without success. I have tried resetting the phone and fidgeting with the card...both with no success. Its frustrating cause I can't take pictures as a result and all I see is that error message! Its an eyesore at the top of my screen.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI did a backup using Titanium Backup and Go Backup and after wiping my Motorola Defy, tried to restore apps, contacts etc. The problems I encountered were:
1) Go Backup can't recognize backup directory on SD card for some reason.
2) Can't move apps to SD. An error occurs: "Move Application: Failed to move application. There is not enough storage left." Needless to say, I have more than enough storage.
This is was I encountered by far, although I believe these are just a small part of the symptoms for a single problem.
Maybe its because there are no permissions, or moving apps is impossible because of an existing app files on the SD card.
What is the actual cause for this? Or is there a tool to fix the permissions on the Defy?
