Sprint HTC Hero :: Delete Or Show Email As Read Gmail Doesn't Sync
Jul 1, 2010For some reason lately if I delete or show a email as read it doesn't sync that to my online gmail. There has been times when it shows 4 unread emails on the phone (even though everything is read) and when I log into gmail it shows the 4 unread emails even if it was ones I deleted. I tried clearing data from settings>Applications>manage applications>gmail. I have tried refreshing it and manually syncing it and it

Oct 6, 2010I know this has most likely been discussed many times. But I am looking for a decent email widget.
At the moment I am using the default htc email widget, however when ever I read an email from my gmail account it doesnt update the read status so it still shows as unread.
I would like one that would update the read status and possible the support for unified inbox so I can see new mail from hotmail account and gmail.

Mar 21, 2010I dont know if I am the only one but I am unable to recieve pictures on the gmail app on my Hero. I am able to view them with K9 and the regular email app. I am running Fresh 2.0b2 I dont mind using K9 or the regular email app but they arent as cosmetically fine tuned as the gmail app. You would think that an Android powered phone wouldnt have this issue.

Oct 15, 2009I just swapped my htc hero last night with another one that had the "with google" logo on the back thinking it would let me get Rev.A but it turns out it was manufactured 9/26/09 and it still says Rev.0. Anyways, the first htc hero I had would instantly notify my of new Gmail email, sometimes even before Gmail inbox on my PC would get it, so it was instantaneous, but this new one has like a minute or 2 delay. Is anyone getting this? what are your delays like? Did I just swap my phone for a defective one? Someone please comment.

Oct 21, 2009Is there any way to enable the notification bar to display the email header (sender, subject, date/time) of the latest email received, as well as the number of new emails in the notification tray?
I am coming from a Pre, which had a very nice notification system. The new email notification would show the sender, subject, and number of new emails. You could then click to either go to the mailbox, or directly to the latest new email shown at your discretion.
I have set up both GMail through the GMail app, and an Exchange server through the Mail app, but the only notification I get is "New email" without specifics. Also, clicking won't bring me directly to the new email, but to the Inbox.

Mar 18, 2010I know this is posted all over android forums, but I just wanted to see if there is a solution yet. I get 30-40 emails a day in my gmail account (the only account I use). I typically check them on a PC, but if I am out of the office, I will check them on my Sprint HTC Hero. If I have read the email on my PC, there is no reason for me to open it on my phone except to update the notifications as to how many emails I have left.It would be nice to keep my notifications up-to-date as to how many unread emails i have. So when my phone shows that I have, say, 30 new emails, is there a way to go into the basic mail application, select all emails, and mark them as read? Or do I have to do it one by one. Or is there an app on the market that has better functionality for email and I can ditch the standard one.

Feb 18, 2010Is there a way to mark text messages as read right from the notification bar? I hate when someone responds with something short enough that I can read it right from the bar. Then the only way that it will not show up as a new message on the message icon or be bold in the list, I have to click on it, open the message app, and then back out of it. Not that big of a PITA just kind of annoying when I already know the full message.

Jun 26, 2010right, have had my hero for several months and only this week gmail has started playing up. I receive emails however when I delete this is not actually reflected in my account and still there when I logon via internet. That means volume count of messages remain high and eventually they return back into my gmail account on the phone. When I try and reply to an email it simply states "sending" without actually sending. Not sure if this is ROM specific, I have used a couple now with the same issue (Villain 10.3 + Superhero 2 - although admittedly they have been authored by the same people).

Nov 12, 2009I have an issue with my Gmail app where I think no information is being 'sent' from the phone. I receive incoming mails, but no mails are sent. Though I delete incoming mails, the next notification which I receive when I get the next mail will show "17 mails" though I would have deleted the previous 16 emails. When I check email on my browser, all the emails what I had deleted are still there. I have tried a factory reset and I still have a problem.

I can't send any emails at all, they just sit in the outbox saying "sending". If I long press on any of them, I get an error:

I can recieve emails with no problems. I've cleared the cache and data for Gmail, I've rebooted the phone countless times, restarted the gmail process etc etc
Sprint HTC Hero :: Conversations In GMail App
Jan 10, 2010When I am viewing messages in a conversation in the GMail app, I cannot see the entire message. The part I don't see is usually the quoted text, so it isn't that big of a deal.However, there are some forums where I get instant email notification of a new post on a thread. The link in the email to go to the thread isn't shown as a clickable URL. If I am receiving the first notification email, it is fine, I can click on the link. But when there are multiple replies, even though I delete old notifications, it still shows up in a conversation view and won't let me click the URL.So, my question is: is there a way to view the entire message in a conversation thread? Currently I have to either switch to the HTC mail app and download via IMAP or go to the GMail's mobile webpage.

I uninstalled the account, reinstalled it and got all the messages I missed. then yesterday, nothing.
