i recently purchased white housing for my hero, but on opening it up, i realised there is no volume button/key. does anyone know of somewhere i can purchase just the white volume button?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI finally caught a break yesterday and had the housing replaced on my Hero. I went to the local sprint store a few weeks ago and asked if they could fix my phone. The chrome piece around the charger area had broken away and the aluminum keypad was peeling away around the keys. The store manager said they try to help as much as possible, and would make small repairs, but didn't have any returned Hero's in the inventory. I was as polite as possible and asked if I could call him back and see if any come in within the next few months. He said sure, perhaps thinking I wouldn't follow up.
So yesterday, I dropped in and asked a sales associate if they could repair. I kept the Store Manager's card, telling them that he gave the ok to repair if there were Hero housings in stock. So, BAM, they replaced everything in 1 hour and I now have a new-ish feeling phone!
I'm eligible for an upgrade, but no way I'm buying up with the current crop of phones. Not worth the $200 plus 4G fees.
When I put it on I realized that it did not come with the antenna attached to the housing. When I put the new housing on, it looked great, but I had no reception. Looks like 3 stickers. I have looked all over and cant find them. Any idea where I could buy one?

View 27 Replies View RelatedIn my current application design, I have an activity class application.java (which starts on launching the application), and it does not have a layout(UI screen). I call another class called servicebind.java from the onCreate method of my 1st class. here I bind to the local server (bindServer()). i call back the application class through an intent. Once I am back to my application class, I call my activity class called welcome.java which has a layout/UI. When I run this application, I am able to see the welcome screen. But the problem is, when I click on the back button, I get a black screen with just the title on top. I have to hit back button 3 times to exit the application.
The reason I see from the logs is that, the 1st 2 activity classes (application.java and services.java) does not get destroyed unless I hit the back button. So the 1st time I hit back button, the welcome activity gets destroyed. the next back button destroys the servicebind class and final back destroys the application class. Is the reason because these classes dont have a UI to display in the onCreate method. I do not want to change my design where I bind the service in the servicebind class and call the welcome activity in the application class.
I just got my white Evo and the menu button light is different than the home, back and search buttons. Is everyone's elses like this? I wonder if this is intentional but I can't see why it would be.

Isn't google or a home page supposed to come up. the way i get to a web page then is to hit the magnifying glass (which brings me to google search). isn't a homepage supposed to come up when i hit that browser button. how do i make that happen?

When I press the home button on my DHD the screen goes white with the HTC logo, flashes to the home screen and then is delay of 10 seconds of longer with the loading warning running.
Is this normal?
When I use the back button to get to the home screen it does no do this.
my brand new samsung fascinate just went white. I went to push the button on the side to unlock it, and just lit up white. I went to do a hard reset and it did not solve the problem. When i restart phone, i can hear the phone start up music, and the soft buttons on the front work, but all i see is bright white. I had someone call me, and my phone rang, yet all i saw was a bright screen. When it goes idol to black, it wont turn back on at all.

I've looked all over the internet and in need of some help. I've had my phone for about a month now and the battery as been OK.it would last me most of the day running a few apps and a lot notification apps.I would charge it over night and it would last about 12 hours which is fine by me.Now it is draining so quick it only last maybe 4 hours at the most. i have tried all the suggestion about the standard but message app and replacing it with handcent or chomp but the awake mode is still 100%.i can not get it to go in to sleep mode.i had it on charge all night for about 10 hours and only charged 50%.I also tried using factory reset and then installing 3rd party message app and that didn't help.I'm lost on what to try next. while trying everything i would reboot in between steps. im still on android 1.5 with build 2.73.110.26. its a tmobile phone using a o2 Sim and a rebel Sim. any suggestion would be great.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe volume button won't turn the volume up but you can turn it down. i took it to verizon and they ordered another one, should be here Wednesday so thats good. anyone else have this problem? they said at the store that this is the first they've seen with the volume button. i think it may be due to the verizon silicone case and the how the volume button is covered, maybe we've been mashing down on it too hard? either way its getting replaced so I'm happy. on another note on that same phone friendstream won't load, it keeps force closing everytime you try to open it. anyone had this problem?

Unfortunately most isnīt all and then some of them started complaining that the list of options is showing text in white with over a white background! View 4 Replies View RelatedMy external button is stuck down, and when I press the power button to wake my phone up it thinks that I am pressing both at the same time. So the phone goes into the Hboot screen, where I cannot choose a function. (because the volume button is stuck down position.) I have to remove the battery and wait about an hour or so then re-insert the battery and pray that it loads up. What can I do to stop this from happening? Or is there a way to control the Hboot screen other than using the volume button?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy device is a Motorola Moto G. I've updated it to the latest Android version available (4.4.2), however, I'm experiencing some serious problems; the most important atm is the alarm.
I am using the volume button to snooze the alarm, because imho it's more convenient. However, yesterday the volume button just didn't work for some reason. I had to unlock the screen for it to work, then it started working again with the screen locked. Today the same thing happened, I had to unlock the screen to snooze the alarm using the volume button, then I could snooze it again without unlocking, however, it just 'stopped' by itself, I don't know if the volume button somehow turned the alarm off. I didn't even touch the screen, so it's a bug or something. I've always been using a cell/smartphone to wake up and never had any problem.
Also, this device freezes a lot and I've never experienced that before in any cell/smartphone. It also seems the device must be turned on for the alarm to work; it's not that important for me, but still a 'downgrade' from my previous device. Another thing that really annoys me is that you can't even change the volume without playing the sounds... if you want to set a very loud volume in the middle of the night there's no way other than waking everybody up. Additionally, I would like to be able to somehow record a call, but none of the apps works with this device.
I don't think the alarm problem is a hardware fail or defective device, it seems to me the software is somehow bugged. There's no Cyanogenmod for this device yet (mine is dual chip) and even if it were available, It seems some apps doesn't work with it (like Sygic).
I don't know if I should try downgrading the OS to 4.3 or if there's something else I could try. I don't know if it's possible that the latest update was somehow 'badly flashed'. It doesn't seem very likely to me.
i got a samsung galaxy s2 mini and i got it rooted it all worked fine , but yesterday for some reason it booted in CWM recovery and i cant get out of it my volume down button is broken .
my question is ; is there a other way to boot it normal?
I thought i could use the volume controls to skip to next song when in lock screen. I use Ultimate Droid 1.0.0, launcher pro, stock theme, Insetting under ultimate droid, audio settingsd the first one says volumne button will seek and it is checked...however it does not work.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Nexus 4 and I want to use the volume rocker as the power button to wake the device when it's in sleep. That's because sometimes the volume rocker is more accessable to me than the wake/sleep button. I know the app for this is tasker. Now here is the basic plan:
If the screen is off + VOLR changes (up or down) >> Screen on.
My problem is with the function that checks if the Volume has changed. I tried several things but nothing worked. Is my idea possible without a rooted device?
