I just got my white Evo and the menu button light is different than the home, back and search buttons. Is everyone's elses like this? I wonder if this is intentional but I can't see why it would be.

When I press and hold the quick search button on my desire, I was given the option to chose what app i want mapped to this key (I chose quick settings - very handy)....however when I press and hold the menu button anywhere I get a keyboard popping up which is frankly useless as when I need a keyboard there is always and easy way to bring it up. Is there any way to map other apps to other buttons such as the menu button or even the optical track button?

View 11 Replies View RelatedThis seems to be an issue that I may have just noticed. Sometimes when I turn on my phone the touch sensitive buttons do not light up. They may eventually light up but it would take a while. Also sometimes they light up immediately with no problem. Is anyone else having this same issue?

I just picked up my white EVO today. I just noticed my capacitive touch buttons don't light up, though they do function. This makes the phone impossible to use in the dark. Is this a setting somewhere I can fix?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm developing a game for android, and texture problem has been reported on Motorola Droid phones. (Missing/white background in the menu and during the game).
I've tried to fix this with changing the texture sizes to power of 2 (I used jpeg images as backgrounds, and they wasn't power of 2, however this worked fine on all my test devices).
I upgraded to evil Eris and have found two problems: I am missing the market app, the light for the menu home back and search buttons won't light up and does mess me up.

I noticed that there's light leakage around the volume buttons, where the top and bottom components connect. As I trace around the edges, everywhere seems to fine except at that one connection point. Now I'm really concerned that my phone has a physical defect and may need to be exchanged. Has anyone else noticed this? Should I be concerned and get an exchange? I'm really bummed that my phone may have a problem.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI just got a samsung galaxy proclaim. All i want is an app that can make the 4 soft touch buttons on the bottom of the phone be light up whenever the screen is lit up. The phone is for my dad, who cant see the best, and he can never see the buttons when they are not lit. I am very tech inclined and have rooted my thunderbolt and modded the hell out of it and flashed roms all the time last year. I really can not find anything out there app wise, and there is not other option other than holding your finger over the light sensor on the front of the phone.
The phone is not rooted, but i could root it if that is necessary. would rather not as i see it presenting new possibilities for problems for a VERY beginner user just learning what texting means.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was trying to set up my options menu so that there would be 2 buttons on the 1st and 2nd row and then 1 button on the 3rd row. Here is the code I was trying to use but I'm guessing groupID argument isn't what I thought it was.

Maybe this is solved somehow with the XML Layout but I'm not really good with the layouts ;( So I managed to not get too far that way either.
What I want is to have an options menu where the user can choose to navigate the menu between:
1) touching a button and then pressing down on the trackball to select it, and
2) drawing predefined gestures from Gestures Builder
As it stands now, I have created my buttons with OnClickListener and the gestures with GestureOverlayView. Then I select starting a new Activity depending on whether the using pressed a button or executed a gesture. However, when I attempt to draw a gesture, it is not picked up. Only pressing the buttons is recognized. The following is my code:

View 3 Replies View Relatedwhen my evo is plugged into the outlet charger, the screen and the menu buttons are frozen, but the volume and power buttons work. when i unplug it from the charger, it works fine. this happened after downloading systempanel lite. this app put two icons on my evo, after uninstalling the app, one icon is gone, but the icon for the tak killer is now a wierd image that reads "problem loading gadget" does the freezing issue seem to be related to the app? what can i do to try to fix it?

I'm talking about the hard buttons on the bottom of the phone.This started today. Tried removing the battery and restarting the phone and that didn't seem to work either.Now Droid X not booting at all. Just stays on the "M" and nothing happens. Tried the Power button with home key press to get to recovery and nothing.
