View 8 RepliesI cant figure out why my camera button is tiggering the volume and not the camera. Every time I press it to use my camera it keeps lowering my ringer volume and when im in the camera mode(from app) it wont snap any pics, it just takes me back to my main page and lower the volume. Can anyone help me out?
View 8 Replies View RelatedAs of yesterday, my camera button does not open the camera, but controls the volume. I have done a factory reset, etc. and nothing seems to fix it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOne thing i envy on the iPhone is that it has a real button for 'Home' so you can wake the phone up from sleep by pressing it. Its 10000% more convenient than going up top to the lock/sleep button (especially on the droid which feels kinda awkward to get to) So my question is, are there any apps out there, or any settings, that will make it so i can wake up my phone by pressing either the volume rocker or the camera button or maybe something that keeps the home key awake?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to disable the volume control button as it works on the ringer volume? I use locale, but I bump those buttons often enough and turn the ringer off completely.
View 27 Replies View RelatedI tried searching for this but couldn't find a thread that discussed it. My power button appears as though its been jammed. I dropped my phone on its corner where the power button is but I don't think thats what the problem is. Anyhow, recently my power button responds but I have to really press it hard and it as though the button is jammed cause it doesn't depress as far.
My question is that is there a way to designate the camera button to become the power button? I know on some phones you can make different buttons do different things and I was curious if this was possible on the Droid.
Besides putting the phone on silence, how do you turn off the shutter volume while using the camera?

How to use HTC EVO volume buttons for camera zoom
I've updated the to the latest roms and was hoping the camera would be better, does anyone know how to improve the camera on the Hero?
Also while I'm at it, I've been watching movies on the hero, is there anyway to increase the volume of the media playing through the phone? I had a samsung i8910 for a while and by a series of key presses we could up the gain and Head phone volume.
Anyway to make this happen? Now I'm not taking about unlocking the phone, just making the screen turn on to show the lock screen.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe volume button won't turn the volume up but you can turn it down. i took it to verizon and they ordered another one, should be here Wednesday so thats good. anyone else have this problem? they said at the store that this is the first they've seen with the volume button. i think it may be due to the verizon silicone case and the how the volume button is covered, maybe we've been mashing down on it too hard? either way its getting replaced so I'm happy. on another note on that same phone friendstream won't load, it keeps force closing everytime you try to open it. anyone had this problem?
View 4 Replies View RelatedOn my old BB you could press the volume button to switch to the next song. It seems to be a bit of a pain to have to wake your phone up, unlock it and go to the music app and press >>. Anyone know of any apps that let you do that?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I bought a used Eris off Ebay thats volume down button was broken (not the rocker but the actual button that the rocker presses). I knew the button was broken when I bought it and I didn't really care for a while, but tonight when I was trying to fiddle with it, I accidentally popped it out. Is it worth opening the phone to try to solder it back on?Also, how do I navigate through the recovery menu without a volume down button?

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy external button is stuck down, and when I press the power button to wake my phone up it thinks that I am pressing both at the same time. So the phone goes into the Hboot screen, where I cannot choose a function. (because the volume button is stuck down position.) I have to remove the battery and wait about an hour or so then re-insert the battery and pray that it loads up. What can I do to stop this from happening? Or is there a way to control the Hboot screen other than using the volume button?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy device is a Motorola Moto G. I've updated it to the latest Android version available (4.4.2), however, I'm experiencing some serious problems; the most important atm is the alarm.
I am using the volume button to snooze the alarm, because imho it's more convenient. However, yesterday the volume button just didn't work for some reason. I had to unlock the screen for it to work, then it started working again with the screen locked. Today the same thing happened, I had to unlock the screen to snooze the alarm using the volume button, then I could snooze it again without unlocking, however, it just 'stopped' by itself, I don't know if the volume button somehow turned the alarm off. I didn't even touch the screen, so it's a bug or something. I've always been using a cell/smartphone to wake up and never had any problem.
Also, this device freezes a lot and I've never experienced that before in any cell/smartphone. It also seems the device must be turned on for the alarm to work; it's not that important for me, but still a 'downgrade' from my previous device. Another thing that really annoys me is that you can't even change the volume without playing the sounds... if you want to set a very loud volume in the middle of the night there's no way other than waking everybody up. Additionally, I would like to be able to somehow record a call, but none of the apps works with this device.
I don't think the alarm problem is a hardware fail or defective device, it seems to me the software is somehow bugged. There's no Cyanogenmod for this device yet (mine is dual chip) and even if it were available, It seems some apps doesn't work with it (like Sygic).
I don't know if I should try downgrading the OS to 4.3 or if there's something else I could try. I don't know if it's possible that the latest update was somehow 'badly flashed'. It doesn't seem very likely to me.
i got a samsung galaxy s2 mini and i got it rooted it all worked fine , but yesterday for some reason it booted in CWM recovery and i cant get out of it my volume down button is broken .
my question is ; is there a other way to boot it normal?
I was simply wondering if there was any way to make the default camera or even. Any camera app use the volume control buttons to take the photo? My phone HTC Evo with Fresh 3.0.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an activity that I want to show up when the phone goes to sleep. However, the phone wakes up when I press the volume buttons or the camera button.
I tried using the dispatchKeyEvent(KeyEvent event) method, but it doesn't prevent the phone from waking up.
How else can I disable that functionality?
Not crazy about the placement of the power button. Is there a way to remap the volume or camera buttons to wake the phone? And yes, I've seen the "No lock" thread, but I still want the phone to be somewhat difficult to accidentally unlock. What would be perfect would be a double click of one of the other buttons to waken and unlock the phone. Is this possible? Maybe it's a root thing?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI thought i could use the volume controls to skip to next song when in lock screen. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Nexus 4 and I want to use the volume rocker as the power button to wake the device when it's in sleep. That's because sometimes the volume rocker is more accessable to me than the wake/sleep button. I know the app for this is tasker. Now here is the basic plan:
If the screen is off + VOLR changes (up or down) >> Screen on.
My problem is with the function that checks if the Volume has changed. I tried several things but nothing worked. Is my idea possible without a rooted device?
I need a CWM Recovery touch for my Byond MI-Book - MI1, I have already rooted it but it doesn't have a volume up or down button. Also, i need to install a kernel so i need to enter fast boot mode, but how do i do it without the volume up/down buttons.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an activity that shows up when the phone screen goes to sleep/turns off ie turns black.
For some reason, the phone turns on when the volume buttons or the camera buttons are pressed. By turns on, I mean the screen wakes up or comes back from the black screen state.
I've tried using dispatchKeyEvent(KeyEvent event) and the buttons are disabled on the activity, but they still wake up the phone.
I am always changing the volume accidentaly, especially while I am streaming Pandora or slacker when my screen is locked. Also I keep accidentaly turning my ringer down. Is there a way to totally disable the volume buttons or at least make them less annoying?
