i got a samsung galaxy s2 mini and i got it rooted it all worked fine , but yesterday for some reason it booted in CWM recovery and i cant get out of it my volume down button is broken .
my question is ; is there a other way to boot it normal?

My galaxy k's home button has been broken. And i wannted to use recovery.So I attached it with my computer, used cmd(adb reboot recovery). After that i was able to go in recovery. But after that I couldnt reboot it. I tried to use cmd. But it cant find my device.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy external button is stuck down, and when I press the power button to wake my phone up it thinks that I am pressing both at the same time. So the phone goes into the Hboot screen, where I cannot choose a function. (because the volume button is stuck down position.) I have to remove the battery and wait about an hour or so then re-insert the battery and pray that it loads up. What can I do to stop this from happening? Or is there a way to control the Hboot screen other than using the volume button?

I knew the button was broken when I bought it and I didn't really care for a while, but tonight when I was trying to fiddle with it, I accidentally popped it out. Is it worth opening the phone to try to solder it back on?Also, how do I navigate through the recovery menu without a volume down button?

The problem is that it's still not possible to turn on the phone with the volumen button (shutdown/run out of battery). I changed the gpio-keys.kl and Generic.kl file for remapping.

The bootloader is unlocked from previous ROM experiments but this ICS is stock/unrooted.
A few weeks later, the power button now doesn't work. This is a VERY common issue, but no one knows for sure if it is Hardware or Software. I was going to lock my bootloader and send it in to get a fix or replacement device from my carrier. Alternatively, I was going to attempt to flash a ROM onto it and see if the button comes back.
The bizarre thing is that when I go into fastboot, the device freezes and I cannot use any of the buttons. Furthermore, below the device information, nothing else shows up. The device shows up to ADB when booted, but Device Manager doesn't even find an unknown device when in Fastboot.
my android phone's power button stopped working a few weeks ago. It wasn't a big problem, but a few days ago, the battery died. Now it is turned off and I can't turn it on. When I put it in charge, it just shows the charging screen. The phone is a Winmax W8000 (Winmax is Bangladeshi company. I'm from Bangladesh). It runs on Jellybean (4.1). It wasn't rooted. I tried to get into Download mode, but pressing the volume buttons and plugging in the charger doesn't work.

Couple of days ago, I wanted to change to a new Android version so I deleted the whole OS on my Android to install a new one.I got stuck on the Magdlr option because I couldn't go select any option. What this means is that my phone lowers the volume by itself, not by me accidentally pressing the volume down key. The problem is solved by pressing the volume up key, and only then, trying to swipe the volume does no good because the phone still continues to lower the volume. After that, you can't use the power button nor the volume down button, it's like they're disabled, you press them and nothing happens. You wait some time, and then you can use them again.
It seems to happen the most when phone is charging and when the battery goes low, but, to be honest, I just couldn't figure out the main cause for this type of behavior. Today I was taking some pictures and suddenly the volume slider came up, showing the volume lowering down rapidly. I've had this problem ever since I first rooted my phone, but it's time to try and figure out the underlying problem.
Phone's hardware checks out, it's perfect (I've had had my doubts in the past, but wherever the phone had been taken, it checked out fine) everywhere I take it it's said that that's a software issue.
I have samsung galaxy nexus and today i tried to flash a rom and the device stuck to the boot logo. The volume rocker doesn't work to go to fastboot mode or recovery mode and the adb device is anauthorized.

View 27 Replies View RelatedI dropped my eris yesterday and the back popped off. When i put it back on i noticed the volume rocker was gone. i went back and looked for it but couldnt find it. I went to the verizon store today to see if there was a replacement for it. Or if i could buy a new back for the phone because thats what he rocker is attached to but they told me no. So does anyone know what i can do? I know i can change my volume by going to settings but that is just a pain. Does anyone know a website where they might sell the backs for the droid eris?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy device is a Motorola Moto G. I've updated it to the latest Android version available (4.4.2), however, I'm experiencing some serious problems; the most important atm is the alarm.
I am using the volume button to snooze the alarm, because imho it's more convenient. However, yesterday the volume button just didn't work for some reason. I had to unlock the screen for it to work, then it started working again with the screen locked. Today the same thing happened, I had to unlock the screen to snooze the alarm using the volume button, then I could snooze it again without unlocking, however, it just 'stopped' by itself, I don't know if the volume button somehow turned the alarm off. I didn't even touch the screen, so it's a bug or something. I've always been using a cell/smartphone to wake up and never had any problem.
Also, this device freezes a lot and I've never experienced that before in any cell/smartphone. It also seems the device must be turned on for the alarm to work; it's not that important for me, but still a 'downgrade' from my previous device. Another thing that really annoys me is that you can't even change the volume without playing the sounds... if you want to set a very loud volume in the middle of the night there's no way other than waking everybody up. Additionally, I would like to be able to somehow record a call, but none of the apps works with this device.
I don't think the alarm problem is a hardware fail or defective device, it seems to me the software is somehow bugged. There's no Cyanogenmod for this device yet (mine is dual chip) and even if it were available, It seems some apps doesn't work with it (like Sygic).
I don't know if I should try downgrading the OS to 4.3 or if there's something else I could try. I don't know if it's possible that the latest update was somehow 'badly flashed'. It doesn't seem very likely to me.
I have a Nexus 4 and I want to use the volume rocker as the power button to wake the device when it's in sleep. That's because sometimes the volume rocker is more accessable to me than the wake/sleep button. I know the app for this is tasker. Now here is the basic plan:
If the screen is off + VOLR changes (up or down) >> Screen on.
My problem is with the function that checks if the Volume has changed. I tried several things but nothing worked. Is my idea possible without a rooted device?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm ultimately looking for a way to play/pause and skip music without turning on the screen. I had an HTC Hero a while back running CM7 RC, and I had a few options for this. Holding the volume rocker up or down skipped the song forward and backwards respectively, and when I had a headset in, the Mic button could also have these functions. A single press would play/pause, or answer a call (depending on phone state), double tap would skip the song, and a long press would activate voice search.
I now have the Epic 4G, and none of these functions work anymore. The volume rocker just changes the volume, and the mic button only answers calls, or activates voice dialing, and even then, the screen has to be on and unlocked. I find this of mild annoyance. I haven't found any obvious way to change these settings.
Basically, I want to know how do I change the function of hardware keys? Specifically, the mic button on a wired headset and the volume rockers for music functions.
i have had my htc evo about a week, i have not downloaded any odd software only a handfull of apps have not rooted my evo or anything close to that. all day today my home button didnt work. i turned it off then on it worked for about five minutes then stopped! any help?! ive been on a waiting list and it breaks after a week?

I found an app, "soft home" which creates a home button in the notification bar.Does anyone know of an app which does the same thing for the menu button? While Im on it, a second question: My browser which is the default browser of the hero goes full screen. This causes the notification bar to dissappear thus making the home button app useless. Does anyone know how to turn this fullscreen feature off/know a good browser which does not do so.

It worked fine yesterday but for some reason it just crapped out on me. So I am guessing that are some things he played with that is making this not work.What I am hoping I can acomplish is get stock 2.2 on my X even if it involves RSD lite or other methods.RSD was the way I was going to go, untill I ran into the problem that the camera button does not work, so i can not get into the bootloader.Also, adb reboot bootloader isn't working, and rooting and trying to get Clockwork Recovery to work isn't doing what I need.So I am out of ideas on how to get 2.2 or any other ROM for that matter on my X.

I'm now trying to make my app work on small screen devices, so I created a res/drawable-ldpi directory, and populated it with the two pngs plus the corresponding selector file.Isn't this the right way to specify ldpi specific button images? If default device xmls and pngs go in drawable, then ldpi xmls and pngs go in drawable-ldpi, right? Could these errors be the result of an inappropriate <supports-screens> element in my manifest file? Neither the api-demos in the samples (for any SDK version), or the newer samples including multires, have any multi res image button examples. In fact, I couldn't find any example where there was an xml file in a res/drawable-.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've noticed times when my in-call volume is stuck on high even when turned all the way down to the lowest setting. I traced this to having previously connected to a bluetooth device for phone use (this happens with two different bluetooth accessories). After disconnecting from bluetooth (whether or not the bluetooth antenna is also turned off), call volume is extremely loud and doesn't respond to the volume-down key. I have to reset the phone to get it back to normal. Anyone else notice this? Any fix for this? I presume this is a bug in the Android 2.1 OS. BTW--this also happens with a friend's Eris running a 2.1 leak v3.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe volume button won't turn the volume up but you can turn it down. i took it to verizon and they ordered another one, should be here Wednesday so thats good. anyone else have this problem? they said at the store that this is the first they've seen with the volume button. i think it may be due to the verizon silicone case and the how the volume button is covered, maybe we've been mashing down on it too hard? either way its getting replaced so I'm happy. on another note on that same phone friendstream won't load, it keeps force closing everytime you try to open it. anyone had this problem?
