Moments after opening the browser everytime, it now says "The application Internet (process com.android.browser) has stopped unecpectedly. Please try again" then I have to force close it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy browser doesnt seem to be working anymore. I am using the stock browser and it worked fine up until a week ago. I use it primarily for a forum such as this and it freezes up all the time. I've tried clearing the cache and cookies and nothing seems to help. Not sure if I should go with another browser but I downloaded the dolphin one and that did the same thing. Anyone have a clue? Im not pc smart so please talk "dumb" to me if you have any clues!

It will load the page almost to the end and then just go back to my home screen. Also the flash does not appear to be working anymore either I only see green arrows now. I Manually installed flash 10.1 a few weeks before the OTA update.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I load gmail in the android browser, at the top it says "Faster Gmail available! Update now" I click on "Update now" and it goes through an install of something. Anyway, after the install the "Faster Gmail available! Update now" is still there. It will NOT go away!!!
A popup also says to change settings of the new stuff it installs go to settings->gears settings. When I click on "gears settings" in the settings menu, nothing happens I cant open the settings. I think my gears install is f-ed up and unfortunately I dont think I can uninstall and reinstall the stock browser and Id rather not do a factory reset.
Ever since my update I get a message that I the phone cannot play the video. Some play in low quality but when you try high quality it says it can't play it. I just go to the music category and most of the top videos I no longer can view. Did they change something with the update to prevent youtube videos from playing. A very low percentage play.
I'm using the youtube app on the menu.
I just updated my wife's phone to 2.1. Yahoo Mail however doesn't seem to be working. It logs into the account ok, but it shows "no mail" when I go into the mailbox. On my phone, however, it shows all of my mail, whether it is new or old.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSince I updated my software the other day, when I type a text message in the native program I cannot use the Shift (up arrow key) when the phone is vertical. When I flip it horizontal the shift key works, but then the ABC to # key no longer works. Does anyone else have this problem? Verizon's only advice was to pull the battery out...of course did nothing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI manually updated the phone with the file that was posted here as the leaked update. The process was easy and pretty much headache free. I used the trial version of MyBackup app and it did what its supposed to do. However I am facing some problems and have some questions also.
1. It seems that my display is not working correctly now. Maybe it is just me, but i can tell that that the backlight is not as responsive as it should be. It doesnt go to the set brightness level as fast and smooth as it was.
2. I let MyBackup restore the apps also and it was a mistake in my opinion. It erased the apps in "My downloads". Now not only can't I find a certain app (USA Today seems to disappear...and no, not the USA Today widget one. that one sucks. Anyone knows what happened to it?) I also dont know how to uninstall an app if it is not in my downloads. I suppose in manage applications? Correct me if I am wrong.
3. For me YouTube app started working better, but still says it cant play video in High Quality mode.
4. Anyone using something different from the People app?
5. Could not find a post about how to erase the vocabulary you added. I spelled something wrong and need to get rid of it.
6. The email is set to update once i day..still i get the notification as soon as I receive one. Help?
Overall, there is a little speed improvement. I didnt notice any drastic improvement, but its just quicker a bit. However, Id rather have my display back to working the way its supposed to be. I can wait until the OTA officially comes out.
I was reading about Verizon's rolling out of the 2.1 Update for the Moto Droids, but one thing that seemed to stand out was that the Moto update was signed by HTC. Dont Wait For Verizon To Update Your Droid To 2.1 Do It Yourself And Do It Now | Android News, Reviews, Applications, Games, Phones, Devices, Tips, Hacks, Videos, Podcasts - Android Police, The Download for the Moto Droid update is available for download on Google. We all are running the same operating system so maybe the update would work on the Eris' also. Some people Mentioned when using the leaked versions of 2.1 on their Eris' that some apps recognized them as using the SDK (who's 2.1 update is available as a download for on the official Android website) Which leads me to the theory that people have been loading the SDK update on their Eris'once again this is all theory and just a quick thought.
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy phone just got the 2.2 OTA update early this morning and since I've updated, my browser doesn't fully work anymore.
It opens fine, but whenever I try to tap an address in, it automatically closes. Sometimes a quick message flashes up, but I can't really even see it because it just comes and goes so fast.
Dolphin Browser has the same problem, so it's just not the stock browser that is having this problem.
I've recently rooted my droid and installed Bugless Beast 0.9 and Chevy1 OC'ing on it. Ever since then my browser will just decide to close and it takes me back to the home screen. I don't get a forced closed message it just takes me back to the home screen. I'm new to this rooting business so I'm not sure if there is something I am overlooking or what. I followed the instructions completed and wiped the phone before doing any of this.

When I click on send, search, or login nothing happens. It's frustrating when you're on the road and need to find something. I'm using the stock browser. Just wondering what browser you guys are all using. I just rooted yesterday and have tried both chaosfroyo and xtrsense, but my browser is always zoomed way out. Is there a setting to fix this or possibly a better browser to istall?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy girlfriend just received her Droid 2 the other day and I have been helping her set it up. There was an available update so I had it installed. Now every time we try to use a browser, any browser, it opens for a second and then it closes to the Home screen right away. No force close, no error message, just poof and it's gone. I didn't install many apps to it like my Captivate because I figured less is more for her. She added her facebook and MySpace accounts but that's about it really.
I looked all over the past few hours and found similar issues but none quite the same. I cleared the cache, cleared the data, nothing. 3G or WiFi made no difference. I tried with the stock browser, Skyfire, Dolphin, and xScope and same results across the board. I turned all location settings off and back on and back off again to no avail. I just did a factory reset 15 minutes ago and nothing has changed. I am going to do it again without allowing the Backup Assistant to do anything. I'll make a fresh google account to see if there's a difference there but I don't think it will work. It's not rooted or anything, it's pretty much fresh out of the box from only 3 days ago.

It'll also start playing a song skip to another , then another then back to the original and then call my voicemail. Other times when I dont even have a music app open and try to send a text it'll start playing a song. Anyone have any clue what is going on?

Google Maps & Latitude, Youtube, the Market will not load properly and will either give error messages or won't load at all. Gmail, Voice, Gtalk and the web still work. I have did a couple reboots, pulled the battery, cleared the cache and nothing has helped. Any suggestions short of a factory restore or the Verizon store?

For the past few days, when I try to open a browser, it closes. I was using Dolphin HD, thought it was a bug with that app, so downloaded regular Dolphin. Same deal, so tried Skyfox then Opera and the stock browser. They all keep closing.
Is there anything I can do or should I just call it quits and get the Incredible?
When using the stock browser, I am able to go to and see actual websites whereas using the dolphin browser, entering the same web addresses leads me to the mobile version of the website. I rather the actual website. I tried looking under the settings of the dolphin browser for a fix but to no avail...
