My phone just got the 2.2 OTA update early this morning and since I've updated, my browser doesn't fully work anymore.
It opens fine, but whenever I try to tap an address in, it automatically closes. Sometimes a quick message flashes up, but I can't really even see it because it just comes and goes so fast.
Dolphin Browser has the same problem, so it's just not the stock browser that is having this problem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've recently rooted my droid and installed Bugless Beast 0.9 and Chevy1 OC'ing on it. Ever since then my browser will just decide to close and it takes me back to the home screen. I don't get a forced closed message it just takes me back to the home screen. I'm new to this rooting business so I'm not sure if there is something I am overlooking or what. I followed the instructions completed and wiped the phone before doing any of this.

When I click on send, search, or login nothing happens. It's frustrating when you're on the road and need to find something. I'm using the stock browser. I love my Droid X but this is starting to bother me.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy browser doesnt seem to be working anymore. I am using the stock browser and it worked fine up until a week ago. I use it primarily for a forum such as this and it freezes up all the time. I've tried clearing the cache and cookies and nothing seems to help. Not sure if I should go with another browser but I downloaded the dolphin one and that did the same thing. Anyone have a clue? Im not pc smart so please talk "dumb" to me if you have any clues!

Starting from few days ago, I find that my browser (Both the build in "Browser" and "Dolphin HD") is not working.
When I open these Apps, it shows the App screen. Then I saw it trying to load the website, after a while (1 - 2 seconds), the Apps just terminated and back to the phone's main screen.
If I turn off WIFI and 3G (means makes no connection to outside), both browser Apps can show a "website not available" page without terminate themselves automatically. But then if I keep the browser screen and activate the WIFI/3G again, and try to type a URL and go, the browser terminate again......
My stock htc browser is not working for some reason. It can't find the path....Steel and Dolphin works fine, but I was wondering if anyone had any input on the situation. I have always received positive feedback from everyone, and my phone works wonderfully...

It will load the page almost to the end and then just go back to my home screen. Also the flash does not appear to be working anymore either I only see green arrows now. I Manually installed flash 10.1 a few weeks before the OTA update.

I can send and recieve texts and calls, but I can't get on the Market or check my email or use apps that need the internet. My "3G" sign is not at the top by my bars.
For some reason the browser on my G2 Touch has stopped working with wifi. Its works fine over the air just not when wifi is connected. Everything else works fine with wifi, email, ebuddy etc just not the browser.

View 19 Replies View RelatedThe default Browser application on my HTC Hero v1.5 just keeps coming up with the standard "Web page not available" page when I try to connect to any website. This happens when I use GSM, 3G, HSDPA or Wifi to connect.
I generally use Opera Mini to access the web and this works perfectly, it was only when I used the Dolphin Browser (to access a site that doesn't display properly in Opera) that I realised it wasn't connecting and coming up with this message, so I tried the default Browser and realised this had the same issue. I then tried Skyfire and this also did the same!
All other applications are fine and can connect to the internet perfectly well. As I said above the Opera Mini browser works perfectly but this may be to do with it proxying the data so therefore works slightly differently to all the other browsers.
So it seems like something is amiss with my settings / files that the default Browser, Dolphin and Skyfire use.
I own my HTC Magic for only few days till now, but there is one problem what really makes me angry. I bought this phone mainly for having good and comfortable access to the internet. So, all websites are working good on default browser, except one - pinnaclesports.com. When I try to enter there, it says error:
The application Browser (process com.android.browser) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
And I have only 1 option to choose - Force close.
The same happens on Dolphin. Opera is working good with pinnaclesports website, but to be honest I don't like Opera, I definetely prefer default browser.
I've been trying almost everything. I did wipe and even changed interface from standard to Sense UI (which IMO is worse than normal interface) and I still get the same error.
I was using my captivate last night and the 3g and browser suddenly turned off. I restarted the phone several times and let is sit all last night and all of today. I recently tried again but its still not up. I have no 3g or 2g (edge) I can still receive texts and call but nothing to do with the browser. I've tried flight mode and everything else I could think of but nothing is working.

I'm on 4.2.2 (old ROM and new ROM) and I don't seem to have any Flash binaries installed, but I thought it was built into browsers now since Flash for Android is discontinued.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 3 android devices (xperia s, htc one x and a galaxy s3) connected to a wifi network. This is kind of a protected network and there is a firewall involved. Also the devices are getting IP via DHCP. The problem is that i am able to access web site via browser but when i try from the application, its showing i don't have internet connection. There is no proxy configured in this network. There is an IP filtering in the router which filters the IPs starting with a particular series. But the web site and the application which i am trying to use are supposed to use this IP series.

However, it is not only the system default, but it even opens links I click on in the Android provided browser (sometimes I both open). On your computer, when you click links in your non-default browser it doesn't send the links to the default one, and it shouldn't on this OS, either. Any ideas how to keep Dolphin as my system default browser, but not have it open links I click on in the Android web browser?

However, even though I have WiFi on and I am connected to the network, if I go into the browser it clearly just uses the signal I have for cell, not WiFi. I'd like to have the faster connection, but I feel like you have to be on only WiFi in order to put in that information, but I couldn't turn off my wireless network. Is there a way to do this, or is there a way to make this log in thing much easier? Cause I don't really want to turn my wireless cell connection on off everytime I want to authenticate ya know?

On most applications you either have an exit button, or you need to back out of it, but with the browser, when you back ut, you have to back out through all the webpages you've been looking at with it. Or am I missing a close shortcut?
