View 8 Replies View RelatedIs there 748mb free available storage for apps? I have seen a few screen shots, but reviews and reports seem to contradict. If 512mb ROM, most out of box would be less than the 228mb free on Moto Droid, since Android 2.1 takes up more space, due to more pre-installed apps. My guess is there should be about 200mb free IF only a 512mb ROM, or none of the flash is allocated.
Only other option would be if the ROM is actually 1gb. Then the question would be where is the other 1.1 or so gigs of space on the "8gb built-in storage". Should be around 7.8gb free if 8gb is built in. BTW, where IS the "missing" storage space, since 8gb built-in and only 6.6gb shows free?
Can anyone suggest a solution for emulator to get my own local IP (not 10.0.2.15)? But i want to get my actual IP of my system. Is there any solution to it?

PSA: AT&T doesn't charge you for OTA firmware updates -- Engadget Mobile. So it says that they wont charge us for downloading OTA update, but... my log says otherwise. ( the 13k kb ones are the OTA update download btw) How come it ate up my data usage? I previously had approximately 85-89mb of data usage for the month, but after attempting to download the OTA update quite a few times ( I was frustrated since it keeps telling me that update failed ), it showed up on my data usage log. Now AT&T tells me that I've used 159mb/200mb so far, and I even got a text this morning saying I've used 65% of my data usage for the month. ( I'm on the 200mb data plan ) What the heck is going on? what if there's an OTA update in the future that are three digit long. If I go over my limit, I would have to pay extra $15.00 for another 200mb of data.

I see an old question about some estimation of emulator vs device. What are your experiences while developing apps with recent SDK Froyo/2.2. Is performance observed on emulator is slower than actual device. Please share your experience and the specs of your dev machine and mobile devices, both.

When I install my 4x2 widget on the emulator it displays like it does on a phone (full width, half the height). However I went to try it out on an actual device in Best Buy and there it displayed as if there is room for a 5th row and column. First of all, why is there this discrepancy? Second, how would I create a 5x5 widget?
I have a problem drawing a background for my OpenGL app on the emulator. It all works well on an actual G1, but i'm worried that if the emulator has a problem, other android phones may have the same problem. On an actual G1 the background is drawn on the background. All other drawing is drawn in front of it. On the emulator, the background is always drawn on the foreground, obsuring any other drawing. Here are two screenshots, where i have my background only occupying half of the screen: From emulato. Code...
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt appears Camel Games is now giving these three games away. I'm also left wondering what happened to their other games such as Super Tumble, as only the Lite version is left. Maybe that's going free, too? Hyper Jump is also missing from my latest search (whereas the Lite version is there). I'm somewhat in shock as these are some quality games!? Hopefully we'll find out the full story soon.

View 2 Replies View RelatedBrowsing around the net at work today for Bluetooth Game Controllers, I came across a Mini Bluetooth Keyboard HERE - it's also selling on Ebay. It claims to be compatible with Android, but as we're all learning Android on one phone isn't the same as Android on another.
I'm wondering two things really: 1) Anyone know if it is actually compatible with Android and moreso if it's compatible with HTC Incredible
and 2) If it is compatible, once connected, can you use it in conjunction with Game Emulators (I have the popular one for GBA) so that I could use the buttons on there to play the games.
It's the perfect size for a game controller (too bad they don't also make one for that purpose) and would be much better than the touch screen controls which impede on the game.
Looking for the simple, atari games like missile command, tempest (I know there are space invaders and pong).
View 6 Replies View RelatedAn emulator seems like a great idea for my Droid, with a huge selection of games at my disposal that I might actually play for once (thanks to a number of situations where I find myself bored with nothing but my phone on me), but I hesitate to pick one because they all cost money.
I'm looking for a bit of information before I jump into anything. What are the different platforms emulated, how well to they run (if there's a site with compatibility ratings, that would be excellent), how much do they cost, and most importantly, how well do they control?
I'm new to this. Where do I get the rom games for the nes emulator app
View 13 Replies View RelatedSo I got the full version of snes emulator for my eris. Does anybody have any suggestions of any games that work well with this phone, since it doesn't have an actual keyboard? I have tried a couple and the controls are horrid. any help would be much appreciated!

View 4 Replies View RelatedSeriously, emulation is not good for performance, but most roms running on gensoid look and play better that games developed for Android. Sonic 3 looks lovely, runs at 60fps and never stutters. It even seems to look higher rez than most Android apps.Android platformer games are nowhere near as good looking or smooth. So what the hell is going on? The hardware on top end Android phones (Desire, galaxy etc) is clearly capable.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIt's a hugely entertaining Puzzle Bobble-style reaction-tester. The aim is to fire brightly colored balls from a brightly colored cannon. When you get three brightly colored balls in a row, they disappear and you get some points. The tension comes as the balls wind their merry way towards a little yin-yang symbol. For some reason, the yin yang wants to eat your brightly colored balls--hey, it makes as much sense a blue hedgehog running around picking up rings. If it succeeds in swallowing your spherical friends, you lose. Robot Defense You don't get this tower defense game for free, but the demo is smashing anyway. Basically, the deal is that robots want to crush your human flesh and use your blood as some sort of newfangled robo-lubricant for their robotic joints. Your job is to protect your arse and the arses of those flesh-and-bone sacks closest to you. Battleship If you can play this game without hearing the "you sank my battleship" line from The Simpson's, we'll be very impressed indeed. There isn't much anyone can say that will persuade us that Battleship isn't one of the greatest games ever devised. And now, you can play it on your Android phone!
