The contact photos shown during calls are very blur. The photos will appear blur if:
- selected from album on phone (I made it as large as 150x150)
- synced from Outlook
- shot with phone camera
The photos only appear very clear if FaceBook photos are used (so limited only to contacts with FaceBook accounts). Is there a way to overcome this?

I thought that if we sync'd facebook to the Hero that people's display pictures would automatically become their contact photo on the hero.can someone tell me if this is possible and how they've done it?

View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter I take a lens blur photo using the Google Camera app, I can swipe to the right to view the photo and adjust the blur. After I select "done," the photo updates with my blur options. However, when I exit the camera and view this photo using Google Photos, the lens blur options I chose are not there and it's not possible to edit the lens blur. It seems I have to open the camera and swipe right in order to see the lens blur effects.
-Can I only adjust lens blur options within the camera app itself?

if seems this is a waste of the lens blur feature. After I make adjustments to the blur and select done, that's the image that should be saved and viewable by Google Photos, Gallery, and backed up to Google+.
I need to do a factory reset, unfortunately. I've backed stuff up - the only think I can't find is the photos I have set with my contacts. I've taken these photos with the contacts app, using the camera, and they are the ones that appear when an incoming call is made. However I've searched all the available directories, including the obvious DCIM, albumthumbs, etc, and can't find them anywhere.I want to save them - where are they?!
View 13 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone and flashed with Fresh 1.1 yesterday, and so far so good, I'm loving it. However, I noticed that my texting applications, Handcent SMS (as well as the stock messaging app), they no longer showing my contact's photos. It just shows a blank profile image of a head, with a question mark in the upper righthand corner (the stock messaging app is the same, just a dark silhouette instead of contact photo now). My contact's photos are all still in my phone, they work fine and are viewable in the "people" application (both FB photos and my own photos that I've assigned to contacts), or when I'm making a phone call, but in both messaging applications they don't have images anymore. I've verified in the Handcent SMS that "Display contact picture" is enabled (I've tried disabling it, then redisplaying it at both sizes... still no luck). I've also tried uninstalling Handcent SMS, then reinstalling the application from Market, still no luck. Any suggestions on how to get those back? I'm thinking that since it's not working in either messaging application, that it has something to do with the contact photos database (which I don't even know if something like that exists).
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a HTC Hero running the latest 1.5 software off of HTC site. One thing I have noticed, is that if I have any photos associated with a contact, the photo is heavily pixelated when it is displayed via an incoming/outgoing call.
I am using Gmail Sync to push email, calender and contacts. If I use the Pre or iPhone, then it shows up fine.
Is this a known bug? I have tried re-creating the image on the Hero - but once I select the area, it pixelates it again.
How do I make my contact photo stay as the google photo.I have several contacts who are linked to facebook contacts and have selected the google image are their main photo. Unfortunately some of the contacts seem to keep changing back to the facebook photo after a short while, whilst others remain OK.I have been struggling with this for quite some time, each time I change the selected image back to google but it always changes itself back.

I like to use my Eris's camera a LOT (its a decent camera!) but am now disappointed that there is a reddish blur in the center of all photos. It is very noticeable on white backgrounds in medium to low light conditions. does anyone have any info? i rooted my phone and am still in the 30 day period, i have insurance too.

so I transfered some songs to my phone from pc yesterday but some of them were in the wrong album and I wanted to transfer them to the right album, Im wondering how you do this ON the HERO. I dont like having to go to my comp to edit the album or name of a song. I was able to do this on my N81 and my hero is supposed to be an upgrade to that and I dont want to feel like I upgraded everything but my music support. View 2 Replies View RelatedI believe I have "stumbled" onto a possible solution to compressed/panelized contact images. I have owned the Hero, Droid and now the EVO. I have tried everything imaginable through exchange and gmail accounts by sending, receiving and downloading images to contacts with no luck....until today!!
I first start with an email with a photo attached from a computer and sent to my gmail account on my EVO. I click the download button the image downloads and then the image comes up on the screen after it completes the fetch of the attachment. Now with that image on the screen click the phone's menu button to share this image via text message as a mms to yourself. I use the Handcent app from the Market and when that image is RECEIVED press and hold on the image to copy it to the SD card. Now you should be able to see two thumbnails of this image in the gallery and the RECEIVED mms image that was saved to the SD card will be noticeably sharper. The lower res one is the first one from the first download from the gmail email. Your mms should show two images the one you SENT and the one you RECEIVED. You need to use the RECEIVED image. For some reason this one is not affected and compressed. The SENT image can not be used, I tried that. It is the RECEIVED mms.*
Then in contacts choose the person you want, click the edit button, tap the square where the image shows in contacts, choose gallery and pick the sharper of the two that were saved. It has worked for me on the EVO today and my daughter's Hero. I have not tried this on the Droid yet. Multiple test calls show a nice, sharp contact image!
When I uploaded photos from my phone which is a HTC One x it shows all the deleted photos that I took which I deleted on my phone also it keeps duplicating the photos so end up having 3 of each photo.

View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently received my Incredible (FINALLY!). I synced my contacts from my old phone (Omnia i910) with google so I could download them onto the Inc. When I did, I also synced up some contacts with Facebook. But, it looks like several of the contact pics are blurry / pixelated. Some of them are the Facebook ones, while others are the Google synced ones. Anyone know how to fix this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedOk I've got a lot of contacts without photos, when putting them in a favorite widget they all look the same. In my old Palm Century I could assign not just pictures, but Icons to people from various icon packs... there by making each person distinguished.
I wondered if anyone saw such an app for Android, or knows of a collection of basic HeadShot graphics I can use as JPEGs and throw on the SD card.
I can do this myself if I really want to hunt down an icon pack and extract everything.. but figured I'd ask if someone's seen something like this already first.
Is there any way I can backup my contacts so that I can save all the high res photos? because I just reapplied everyone's contact picture and so they are nice and pretty. However, when I wipe my phone and re-sync contacts with google, all of their photos are going to go back to being horribly pixelated. Can I use titanium backup or something?
and as an added bonus, is there any way i can backup everyone's custom ringtone?
I don't sync or set contact photos, and the stock contact photo on 4.3 is UGLY. Is there any way to disable contact photos, or at least set them all to a different one? Also, is there a way to remove them from the stock SMS? There were no contact photos in my text messages until I updated to 4.3. Stock ROM and not rooted.
