Aug 10, 2010I have retrieved some cover art for an album (I have the id and a Bitmap) and now I want to set it into the MediaStore. I tried a bunch of stuff:

HTC Droid Eris :: Photo Album Thumbnail
May 10, 2010Is there any way to select which picture will show as the photo album thumbnail? When I open the photo album the picture that shows as the thumbnail is hard to see and I would like to have another pic as the album thumbnail/icon.I have tried erasing all of the photos, clearing the cache and reloading the photos in various orders but no matter what I try the same photo shows as the thumbnail. Is there any way to change it?

Nov 19, 2009So today I got a message from a friend and in the message log it just tells me who it's from, the file size and when it expires. I have an option to download it but it fails every time. I doesn't give me any details that I know of it just says it was unsuccessful. The weird thing is that yesterday I got a pic from the same person and it worked fine, thumbnail and everything. What can I do to get this picture? Or make it work correctly in the future? They say they sent it the same way as the day before.

May 1, 2010I just recorded a video clip which had a strange effect. When in photo albums, instead of a thumbnail of the video in question, the phone created a thumbnail of a video I have recorded previously and then deleted. Does anyone know how to make the phone recreate all thumbnails for the media files? I am leaning towards deleting all the files in /sdcard/DCIM/.thumbnails/ but not sure this is the way to do it?

Nov 10, 2009The contact photos shown during calls are very blur. The photos will appear blur if:
- selected from album on phone (I made it as large as 150x150)
- synced from Outlook
- shot with phone camera
The photos only appear very clear if FaceBook photos are used (so limited only to contacts with FaceBook accounts). Is there a way to overcome this?

Nov 8, 2009Ok when I download or upload my music from a cd, the album artwork never shows up in itunes for me. So I usually have to manually copy album Pics from the net and paste them in the info section. However my hero either doesn't show the artwork or replaces my pic with some other random artwork pic. Anyone experience this and know how to fix this?

Oct 20, 2009Anyone heard anything about when this issue with Android and the calendar will be fixed?
I did some searches and this issue has been brought up as long ago as Feb 2009 on google's help page with a response from a google employee that the issue is known and being looked into.
Here's the issue: Whether you key an all day event into your google calendar via the web or onto your phone, the issue is the same. When you pull up the calendar via the monthly grid, you'll see the triangles on the days with events. If you click on a day that has an all day event (I'm not sure if this only affects 1 day events or multiple days) you'll drill down into the daily view and see the event at the top of the screen. So far, so good. The problem arises when you select the event. Under event details, the date of the event will be the day before it's actually entered into your calendar (i.e. a event for Fri 10/23 will show as Thu 10/22). If you hit menu and edit, the event edit screen now shows the correct date! The calendar widget will also show the event a day early.
For me, it doesn't matter if it's my calendar, my wife's shared calendar, google's pre-made calendars like moon phases or holidays, or whether the event was keyed into the phone or via the web interface. how many all day events I and my wife have keyed on our separate google calendars and while I want to see my current and upcoming events on my home screen with the calendar widget, this is just really irritating.
Sprint HTC Hero :: Browser Shows Up In French Language?
Jan 12, 2010Whenever I type in google.com in my web browser (stock or dolphin) it takes me to the french version of google. I do not know why it does this. I have my default locale set up correctly in the settings. Any ideas what I'm missing?

Jun 8, 2010I have it set up update hourly, and it will show it to be sunny, even until 8PM sometimes 9PM.It's not exactly sunny at that time of day, I'd more expect to see the moon by that time of evening.Is this just weird, or is it just using the "official" sunset time of 8 something and calling it sunny until then? Jan 27, 2010Does anyone know of an app that can test what frequencies are being used in the area? I'm trying to figure out if something is interfering with my wireless router, and if so what it is. I've got "WiFi analyzer", but that doesn't show anything other than wireless signals directly from routers, even though a cordless phone runs on the same basic frequency.
In other words, I'd like to find an app that shows what frequencies are present near my phone, including what my phone is putting out. Is that possible?
Sprint HTC Hero :: Not Saving Photos
Aug 10, 2010A few days ago I had to perform a hard reset due to my phone not sending pic mails anymore. Since that hard reset, my camera has decided when it wants to save photos and when it doesn't want to save them. Has anyone had this issue happen to them? Do i need to perform another hard reset? Could it be a SD Card issue?

Oct 25, 2009I can't access my Facebook photos using the HTC Album app or any other HTC app like contacts, but I can access all photos of my friends (except for one friend). I've played around with the settings on Facebook, but I don't know if I'm missing anything. I've also been able to access all of my photos and all of photos of my friends (including the one mentioned above) using the BFF Photo app for Android.I can access all my photos from Flickr just fine, and I can upload pictures to Facebook just fine using Facebook for Android, but I just can't view MY photos using any HTC app. I can also update my status just fine using the HTC Facebook app. Any ideas on things I should check?

Feb 10, 2010I love my new phone and it's my first venture into android/smart phones. On all my old basic phones I could sort out my photo albums easily, placing family photos all together and nudies together as well. On this phone, all photos go in 1 of 2 places. If I take a pic with the camera, it goes in a camera folder. If I pull it off the web or save from a text, they go in a download folder. These seem to be my only options and my pics are a jumbled mess. I've read my book, played with my phone, been to multiple Sprint stores, and searched these forums to no avail. No one seems to know or care. Is there any way I can create new folders and move pics from one to the other?
