The first is how (or with what application) can i see some informations about my calltimes. The whole outgoing calltime and incoming etc.The second q is the more important one. I use gmail, but i have a custom domain gmail acc, and i can't see any special settings to use that. Anybody can tell me, is this possible, to use with the gmail application, or i must set up an imap connection?

Is it possible to use a google account for features such as google contacts and latitude? I know this is not possible for Android market, but would it be possible for other google products? I saw it is possible on this Android 2.0 review: Android 2.0 Review: Almost Human Did they remove this feature from the 2.1 that Hero uses, or can't I just find it?

I manage to edit my android's /etc/hosts file. Here's what I did:
1. Create an Android Virtual Device (AVD)
2. Open the AVD with this command

./emulator -avd android -partition-size 128
3. Execute the following commands

./adb remount
4. Get the android hosts file
Code:
./adb pull /etc/hosts
5. Add my mobile website into the android's hosts file. It looks like the following
Code:
127.0.0.1 localhost
172.19.14.46 m.myweb.localhost
6. Push the hosts file to the simulator
Code:
./adb push hosts /etc/hosts
7. Open the web mobile in the simulator and Host do not found. The web mobile should appear.
Btw I use Ubuntu 10.10 and android-sdk_r08-linux_86 API 7 (Android SDK 2.1)
i'm new here and just recently deleted my gmail account from my computer and it was the same one that was associated with my HTC Hero and now i can't go into the android market because of it. My phone has been disconnected since i havent been able to pay the bill but i'm still able to browse the internet and play games that i had downloaded from the market that require internet using the wifi connection. I created a new gmail account on my computer and i have tried to the add account on my phone using but every time is says connecting i get an error saying that they we'rent able to establish a connection to the server. Any ideas on what to do?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI wanted to connect my hero with a new gmail account that i have set up, so i search the web to find out how to remove the current gmail account that i had set up and replace it for a new one.
The solution i found was to clear the gmail app data (under settings/app management). After doing this, the phone asked me to enter a new gamil account.
The problem is that now, when i try to do this every time it tells me that it cant find a realiable network connection when trying to register the new account details with google.
I have searched around and have seen that many people had this problem. Its like the phone does not even try to communicate with google now!! Solutions range from using wifi network, using static ip to making sure you have full edge network etc.
I have tried them all to no avail. The last thing i want to do is a factory reset, but it appears thats my last solution.
Does anyone know how i can solve this problem with out a factory reset? i cant believe android does not support changing gmail account without a factory reset!

When I set up my new (refurb) phone with my gmail account, I had tons of contacts in my phone that I had never seen before. The girl at sprint said it imports all of my email contacts, and it looked like they had added contacts from email addresses I had only emailed once, that werent even in my contacts group on my email. They ended up wiping my contacts and transferring them over from my old hero. She said I should create a new gmail account, and use it ONLY for syncing my contacts, that way I dont get all the other email contacts in my phone also. Im wondering how I do this, because I want to set it up before 2.1 comes out for the hero, so when I upgrade to 2.1, I wont have the same issue.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have tried to get to the bottom of this problem a few different ways, but haven't had any luck and haven't found it in any other threads. The issue is that after the 2.1 update my gmail will not sync to the phone. I have gone to Settings < Accounts & Sync < Google and found that Contacts, Gmail, and Calendar are all set to sync but while Contacts and Calendars have recent times for their latest sync Gmail is always the same. I have unchecked/rechecked the Sync Gmail toggle to get the sync going and the arrows spin but it never updates. I have also tried to refresh from the Gmail app itself with no luck and logged into a Wifi connection to see if it would work over something other than the mobile network still no luck. I have also rebooted several times with this seeming to work to resync Gmail only once and not in the last couple of tries. I do have Advanced Task Killer and have used it to close down a few programs including the browser. This never had any affect in 1.5 but just wanted to make sure a new problem couldn't have come from that.

Go to the GMail app, select add account, fill in the metrics and then...... "Needs to communicate" message for ~ 3 minutes, then bombs out with - "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server". 3G is fine, on a wifi connection that is fine, web browser works fine..... Google Apps account works fine.

So I just figured nobody e-mailed me today, which is weird. So I just went to my gmail account on my laptop and I have 14 unread e-mails that were sent to my gmail account today. So I went to my gmail app on my phone and clicked refresh and the e-mails did not show up on my phone. Its like its not even recognizing my gmail. Any help. I also have a gmail account that just forwards all email to apps. But my picasa and googleTalk are on the gmail account. I don't know what account to make my primary and am looking for some guidance. When I try to add another account, it seems to try setting up the account, and then returns the following error: "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server."
