Droid X - Configured with a Google Apps Premiere, working great. Attempting to add a personal GMail account. Go to the GMail app, select add account, fill in the metrics and then...... "Needs to communicate" message for ~ 3 minutes, then bombs out with - "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server". 3G is fine, on a wifi connection that is fine, web browser works fine..... Google Apps account works fine.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to use a google account for features such as google contacts and latitude? I know this is not possible for Android market, but would it be possible for other google products? I saw it is possible on this Android 2.0 review: Android 2.0 Review: Almost Human Did they remove this feature from the 2.1 that Hero uses, or can't I just find it?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo My evo has been running pretty damn good. Then this evening I realized that I have not received any e-mails pushed to my gmail app on my phone. So I just figured nobody e-mailed me today, which is weird. So I just went to my gmail account on my laptop and I have 14 unread e-mails that were sent to my gmail account today. So I went to my gmail app on my phone and clicked refresh and the e-mails did not show up on my phone. Its like its not even recognizing my gmail. Any help. I powered down and turned it back up and still nothing. Usually powering down then back up helps little issues like this. what gives.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn the store I was asked if I had a GMail account, I thought I did, but wasn't sure so I created a new one. Well it turns out that I DID have an existing gmail account and want to use that one (the email address is the same as my yahoo prefix and it would be an easier transition for everyone). How do I now link my Droid phone to my pre-existing gmail? Do I have to reset it to factory settings and then start fresh?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just received my Nexus One - will be hooking it up with TMobile tonight. I have an apps account that is my primary everything. I also have a gmail account that just forwards all email to apps. But my picasa and googleTalk are on the gmail account. I don't know what account to make my primary and am looking for some guidance. Is it easy to switch back and forth? I prefer my apps account for contacts etc but I think I will like the googletalk and other aspects of a vanilla gmail account.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 6 gmail accounts set up in the Gmail app. Never had a problem adding accounts until now. When I try to add another account, it seems to try setting up the account, and then returns the following error: "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server." I have tried multiple times and always get the same error. Data is always turned on and I have a good signal.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI think I registered my Gmail account twice now, once I turned the phone activated and the other time when I entered in email accounts. how to delete it from the general mail tab (where I have my hotmail accounts) and just leave the general GMAIL tab alone (the one you automatically do when you register the phone)?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have about 300-odd contacts on my Gmail account - most, if not all, have no telephone number information on them, but I am guessing they still get copied over to the phone? Such that I will have a contact card on the phone that has no number, just an email? I don't email that much from my phone, so it seems pointless having most of these "email only" contacts on my phone. Secondly, a number of these contacts are named by email address i.e. some contact names appear as "doug1986" simply because Gmail has taken it from the email address doug1986@whatever.com. I really rather not have these synced across tot he mobile as they are old addresses (which I still dont want to delete).
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to change my primary account for my android phone but am not looking to loose all my information while doing it. The gmail account i set up my first android phone with was really just a bin for all my other crazy emails to go to. I finally got to creating a real gmail account for myself and want to tie my phone to this account instead.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIt's great that Android 2.1 supports multiple Gmail accounts, but so far, I've found that it's not possible to select which one to use when sending a message from another app, such as Contacts or Gallery. What is particularly annoying is that, when doing this, it seems to automatically use whichever Gmail account I was viewing last. Am I missing something, or is this just a missing feature in Android?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI wanted to connect my hero with a new gmail account that i have set up, so i search the web to find out how to remove the current gmail account that i had set up and replace it for a new one.
The solution i found was to clear the gmail app data (under settings/app management). After doing this, the phone asked me to enter a new gamil account.
The problem is that now, when i try to do this every time it tells me that it cant find a realiable network connection when trying to register the new account details with google.
I have searched around and have seen that many people had this problem. Its like the phone does not even try to communicate with google now!! Solutions range from using wifi network, using static ip to making sure you have full edge network etc.
I have tried them all to no avail. The last thing i want to do is a factory reset, but it appears thats my last solution.
Does anyone know how i can solve this problem with out a factory reset? i cant believe android does not support changing gmail account without a factory reset!
I successfully set up a couple of gmail accounts when I first got my phone and now wish to add a third. However the phone now says it is unable to establish a working data connection. This is definitely not the case. It comes up with this before checking the account credentials so it is not a password issue.

View 4 Replies View RelatedEarlier today my phone lost both of my email accounts (exchange and gmail). This seems to be a common issue with no solution from what I've read. In order to get my email accounts to work again, I have to delete the accounts and then set them up again (the accounts are still in my phone, but they don't work). The problem is, I cannot delete my gmail account without doing a factory reset. Have any of you had your phone lose your email accounts and been able to reactivate your gmail account successfuly?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMigrating to a new Gmail account without losing everything Android related? Like a few people I know, I made a Gmail account a few years ago before android was this big and (like the naive child I was) didn't make a very professional email address. Migrating to a new Gmail account I created. Copying contacts and mail is easy enough, but what about everything related to Android?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to add a second gmail account (my wife's), and I keep running into a response message after a couple of minutes, saying "Can't establish a reliable data connection on the server". I've tried forcing the transaction through Wi-Fi and cellular paths, always with the same result.
I see any number of threads in a variety of forums with this problem, going back months, but I didn't find any viable solutions. The most common solution offered is to do a factory reset on the phone, which I'm not near ready to do yet.
