Sprint HTC Hero :: Downloading Ringtone On SD Card (No Free Space)
Feb 8, 2010I am trying to download a ringtone onto my phone (which apparently gets downloaded to my sd card under download) but its saying I have no available space. Its a 2 gig mem card and i have 1.7 gigs left on it thats completely free. And my phone has 99mb of internal memory free. So a few hundred kb ringtone should not be saying this.

Apr 25, 2010I've noticed a special ringtone that is used when your SD card is mounted to your PC. I like it, and would like to use it for my default ringtone, but it doesn't seem to be an option, nor can I find it anywhere in the file system. Also, when I asked the folks at HTC where the file was located, they conveniently dodged my question and and told me how to add new ringtones to my SD card. (not surprised).

May 20, 2009I was wondering if anyone knows how to set a ringtone from the sdcard correctly cause obviously I'm doing it wrong. For some reason, I'll set the ringtone(it's actually picked randomly) as the default ringtone using the RingtoneManager.setActualDefaultRingtoneUri() method. This works, and it show's that ringtone as the default ringtone in the settings menu (as well as plays the correct tone), but when I get called it plays a system ring instead of that default ringtone I set. Has anyone else ran into this problem?? I've been looking everywhere online with no luck. I actually have a feeling it has something with the formatting of the Uri but I'm not sure on how else to format it.
My current format: Uri ringtoneUri = Uri.fromFile(new File(directory +"/" + ringtones.get (whatTone)));
directory = "/sdcard/media/ringtones" --- Just an example, this is actually user generated ringtones.get(whatTone) = "BlindedInChains.mp3" --- Also just an example
End result of this format: "file:///sdcard/media/ringtones/BlindedInChains.mp3"
Is this wrong?
Android :: Setting Ringtone Notification From SD Card File
Jun 12, 2010My goal is to set the users notification sound from a file that is stored onto the SD card from with in the application. I am using this code:

I have seen others using this technique and I can't find any documentation on which values actually need to be passed in to successfully add the file into the Android system so that it can be set as a notification.
General :: Changing Ringtone To A File From SD Card - 10.1 CM ROM On Galaxy S I9000
Jul 20, 2013just changed my rom to 10.1 cm, but even that i changed my ringtone to a different one from my sdcard, and it is saving my choice - when someone calls me - it doesn't play that song.if i change it to the deafault ringtones of the device - it changes, but not with my music files.

Sep 28, 2010It started last night. I got an email and "Glory Days" starts playing after the phone vibrated. I got an email and some other song started. This afternoon I get a call and Dr. Dre starts playing!
In every case, this was not the set ringtone, nor even in the ringtone list! These are songs from my SD card! - What the heck! Any idea how this could have happened? If it was all my SMS or email or calls, I would say its an app, but its been Everything!

Samsung Moment :: Ringtone Have Created Don't Show Up In All Ringtone Areas Of Phone
Dec 10, 2009I purchased my moment about 2 weeks ago and have been having fun figuring it out however there are some areas where I am having problems.
1. When you want to attach a document it selects the picture folder/area, how do you browse instead of being forced into that area.
2. I downloaded ringtone app and have found the app quite useful, the problem I am having is, the ringtones I have created don't show up in all the ringtone areas of my phone, what needs to be done to correct this.
3. The basic user guide that comes with the phone says there is an app I can download called samsung new pc studio. When I call sprint or samsung they say this app is not available or can't be used by a casd(the u.s. standard, I think casd is right), they say this software is only for the other standard, I did find this app on the web. Is what sprint and samsung saying true if not can I use the ones I found on the web.
4. If you could choose only ten apps to have(free)which ones would you choose?
HTC Hero :: Extending Length Of Ringtone
Oct 16, 2009I have a T-Mobile G2 and I have managed to change my ringtone to a tune of my liking but am finding it difficult to answer calls quick enough because my ringtone doesn't seem to last long enough. On my N97 and Vario it gives a lot more chance to answer. Is there any way of extending the length of the ringtone please ? Has anyone else had this problem?

Oct 4, 2009I had the phone for a few days and I have downloaded some tunes into the music application on the phone and I see you can save the tune as a ringtone and also trim it which is all good, however, after I have saved the tune as a ringtone, when the phone is switched off and back on again, the chosen ringtone has gone and the "save tune" I had within ringtones has also gone.
I have tried contacting HTC and they are talking about something about route of the SD card and making folders which I have not got a clue about what they are talking about and they don't seem to give clear instructions in how to transfer a song from your PC to the phone and then make it into a ringtone.

May 17, 2010I used the htc ringtone trimmed for one of the song in my music library on my phone and I'm sorry if there is already a thread for this but how are you able to delete these ringtones when you no longer want them? The program its self works fine for making ringtones but I cannot find anyway to delete them. I even looked in Astro. If someone doesnt mind could they please lend some advice on this. I've searched in the forums and I havnt found a solution to it.

Sep 12, 2009Recently I've been getting a lot of calls from 'UNKNOWN' at stupid O'clock in the morning. Is there a way of doing any of the following...
a) set the phone so that calls from UNKNOWN get sent directly to voicemail.
b) set the phone so that calls from numbers *NOT* in my contact list get sent directly to voicemail.
c) set the ringtone for 'UNKNOWN'.
d) set the ringtone for numbers NOT in my contacts.
If someone is unwilling to reveal their phone number then they don't deserve my attention, especially at 8.30am in the morning and extra especially on a Saturday.

Feb 15, 2010Everyones helped me so much the last two weeks my chance to give back Step 1, Go to mp3 or music widget pictured below.
Step 2, Touch it and it should go full screen pic below
Step 3, Touch menu button and this screen below appears
Step 4, Hit the set as ringtone button and below screen appears
Step 5, select trim ringtone and below screen appears. When in this screen you can adjust ringtone from each end to where it begins and ends. There is a play button and a left and right arrow. The left and right arrow allow for second to second adjusting.

Jan 22, 2010Perhaps I missed it but what happened to this app? I can still see it under settings>applications>manage applications. However, there is no shortcut icon for this app under my main menu of loaded apps. I don't guess it really matters, because I never used it, but was it removed in the MR update? I downloaded and have used Ringdroid and it works great for me, but I am curious as to what happened to the preloaded app?

Jan 20, 2010Not sure if I'm being thick and missing something but. I set an mp3 to be my ringtone the other day, and when i did it, I had a play with the trimmer, but just decided to use the whole thing in the end. The point being that the trimmer was definitely working. Today I went to change to a different MP3, and wanted to trim, but the trimmer is not working. It seems to think the mp3 is 0 seconds long:
The big "timer" at the top shows 00:00, as does the small one to the right, next to the stopwatch. Both "speech bubbles" above either end of the time bar are empty and greyed out Timer to the left of the bar says 00:00 Lefthand slider (with the 6 dots) is green, but right hand one is grey.
