All of a sudden the keypad/screen doesn't vibrate when I type in numbers.
Looked in settings and can't find what to change.
Probably something obvious but can't see the wood for the trees.

The title says it all. I force updated my Droid 1 to 2.2 and the phone does not vibrate for notifications or calls. I have vibrate set to always and the ringer is turned on. If I use the volume rocker to change the settings to silent it will give the vibrate notification to indicate that it is in silent. I have done a factory reset on the phone but the issue remains. I have tried all of the different vibrate settings but still nothing. Any ideas?
View 4 Replies View RelatedLast week I received the 2.1 update on the HTC Hero. I love it, BUT, i can no longer force lock my screen. Previously I could press the 'power/end call' button once to lock my phone. I can't do this any more. Is anyone else experiencing this? My only option currently, is to let my screen time out (set to 15 secs) and then my phone locks itself, but I cannot force this manually. It's rather frustrating - a lot goes on in my pockets in 15 seconds!

I went to Settings>Ringtone> and everytime I changed my ringtone, it WOULD NOT sample the tone even when the media and ringtone volume was FULL!

View 25 Replies View RelatedFor the past two days my alarm goes off, the phone vibrates, but there's no sound it's only the noise of the vibrate that wakes me up.This is a recent thing, I've checked the volume is up, I don't have a taskiller installed, I've set and reset the alarm sound to go off, but even when I go into settings to change the sound, if I select a new sound it doesn't ring out. However, if I go to change my ringtone, that does make a sound. I've turned the phone on and off, I've deleted and set new alarms to no avail.I just don't get it... can anyone help? Software version is 1.0.0.A6288, firmware 1.5 if that helps. Installed new OS about a month ago.

However, I'd like to increase that to at least several minutes while the phone is charging. I don't want the screen to be always on it just doesn't seem like the best thing for the life of the phone. Could be wrong, it just feels that way.Is there any setting or app that would allow this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever Titanium Backup runs one of the scheduled backups, the screen no longer times out. It will dim, but never go off. This isn't just while the operation is running, either. For instance, I had a scheduled operation this morning at 4 a.m. At 7 a.m., the operation was completed, but the screen was still on (albeit dimmed). The only way the screen time out starts working again is if I kill Titanium via System Panel. Is this normal?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I first Bought My Droid X. I installed GDE which I Love and also Lockbot Pro which I also enjoy the Versatility of. During my 2nd day of use my screen went blank and no matter what I did the factory screen would not return, so I did a Hard reset back to factory settings. Now my problem is, that my original factory home Screen is no Longer Available through the home Button even if I uninstall Lockbot pro and/or GDE.
AND when I press the home Button it always asks me If I want to go to GDE or Lockbot (but as everyone knows, U never pick the lock screen). Should I just give up the Apps I like. I have the desire to got back to the factory home screen. That's why I ask, I can't without doing a Hard reset everytime. By the way, My 1st Droid (with The hard keyboard) always gives me the option of GDE, Home, or Lockbot When I press the home Button.
In my HTC sensation, I can, for example, open a news story on CNN and if the text was too small, I could pinch the screen jesture to zoom out then the phone would resize the font AND still keep the web page fitting on the screen.
Now, with my Samsung 3s, you can't do this. You can zoom, but the phone does not resize and ensure the page fits on screen. So, you have to read and pan around left, right, up down just to read.
I tried to load other browsers that claim to offer this zoom, resize, fit to screen feature, but none of them worked when loaded onto v4.0.4.
Im on RGUI_NDT MIUI 2.3.7 MULTILANG V4 and would love to be able to change lockscreen timeout to be longer, it cuts out too fast for me...
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had my HTC Hero for a few months now, I am running windows 7 (64bit) so I had to use the Vista drivers before I could use HTC Sync. Fair enough, I did that and it worked perfectly up until this morning when I tried to update the ROM to the official one off of the HTC website. I was sync'd with my pc and ran the ROM update, everything was going well until it unexpectedly told me that there was no connection between the PC and the phone anymore and to check the USB cable. Since then I'm unable to sync with HTC Sync at all. I can use the phone as a USB Storage device and device manager see's that I have an Android phone plugged in but it doesn't recognise it as a Hero anymore. I have tried hard resetting the phone, and uninstalling/reinstalling HTC Sync and the drivers, I've also tried it on a different PC (also running win 7 64 bit), and a virtual PC running XP. It seems like a driver problem but I've tried them from a few sources and it's still not working .

I rooted my handset using blackwofls guide, it worked perfectly. I then installed adfree android from the market, it also worked perfectly. After that, I went and got font installer, it installed like any other app, opened fine. I chose a font I wanted to use, previewed it, and installed it.
It had prompted me to reboot for the font to take effect. After rebooting my phone will no longer go past the AT&T splash screen. I am very worried since I do not know how to fix it, I don't have a backup of my ICS of any sort. I can however get into ODIN and the recovery mode of clockwork.
I reset my cache and data numerous times, and i did a factory reset, It just sits at the splash screen and vibrates often.
My hero has stopped giving me the notification to connect to any pc, it still charges, but I can't access my files. It's been happening for a few months, it worked ok for the first 6 months I had the phone, I've tried numerous PCs and cables, but nothing has worked. I'm currently stuck on v1.5 of Android.I've contacted Orange, but they've just passed me on to HTC, can anyone help before I just give up and buy an iphone?!
View 6 Replies View RelatedThere has been talk in the Desire forum of the fault where the SD card will no longer be detected by the phone.It will suggest reformatting. But resetting phone or reinserting card is often the required action to take.I have not heard of anyone else having this problem on the Hero (1.5) but it is driving me bonkers. The shipped 2Gb card worked ok. A new 4Gb had this problem. I have send this one card back to ScanDisk. The second 4Gb card eventually corrupted so badly it will no longer reformat. And the third 4Gb card will not remain recognised for more than a few minutes. Making the phone unusable.I am wondering if any other Hero users have experienced this.I do not know for sure if this is a HTC issue a card issue or and Android issue.

It keeps Sense UI with extras like the Friend Stream widget, but the only problem is my phone runs on Edge/1x only now and that internet is just too slow!

On my HTC Hero, when typing messages, I could always easily access characters like "?" and "!" and numerals by simply "long touching" that button. Very convenient. However, recently, that featured stopped working. I can no longer "long touch" the K-key and get a question mark like I used to.
Is this a setting that has been inadvertently turned off? If so, I can't find it.
First, I've got to give credit to the other post for figuring out the main reason for the short battery life I was getting. If you're already getting good battery life - ignore this post.It only took me two months to figure it out (I had this phone since the pre-release Friday from Best Buy), but the main culprit was the HTC clock with weather widget (or the TWC app). By process of elimination I tried literally everything but ultimately figured out that it was either the default HTC clock widget w/ weather or the "The Weather Channel" widget, or both. I got rid of both and my battery life has improved dramatically.I used to unhook my phone charger at 6:30 a.m. and my battery would be less than 15% by 5 p.m. with moderate use (few texts, few calls of 5 minutes each, and three emails pulling every 15 minutes). I tried lengthening the time interval to an hour for email pulling, changed the "default" mail account to my yahoo account from my activesync exchange account, unchecked "always on mobile", "background data" sync for google, no gps, no wifi, etc. but still couldn't last a 15 hour day without the battery dying. I did the SMS fix, got the MR update and still got crappy battery life despite never exceeding 18% awake time.Finally, last night I got rid of the HTC default widget clock w/ weather as well as the weather channel widget and today I went through 15 hours with heavy usage (more calls, longer calls, more text messages, and more emails than normal) and still at 30%.While this isn't earth shattering, it is a significant improvement than before. Hope this helps somebody.
