View 2 Replies View RelatedJust a quick question, i have set up my contacts to link to facebook accounts, linking their profile pictures to, however when any of the contacts call and their photo is displayed whilst ringing, it is quite fuzzy is this the same for everyone? i also tried taking a photo off the hero camera and using that instead, picture looked great in the viewer, but when i attach it to a person and they ring, its dead fuzzy again.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter implementing some Android Apps, including several Map activities, I try to refresh the activity when the GPS listener's onLocationChanged() mehtod is called. I have no idea how to tell the map activity to refresh on its own and display the new coords. the coords to store will have to be in global values, so that the location listener will have access to it. In my sample GPS-class (see code below) I just changed the text of a text view....but how to do that in map view?
View 2 Replies View Relatedthe connection via my wifi is intermittent at best - usually telling me page not available / connection error , occasionally it does connect but hangs up when searcging - the weather widgets / gmail update regularily . I have used the browser , google widget and downloaded mini opera - all same problem. Secondly , I havn't been able to view youtube vids and only minimal success with beeb player {this may be more to do with the connection dropping off but what I saw wasnt great quality.A nokia n95, which hadnt been used for web browsing until I tried it this morning, was fine browsing using the same wifi network & viewing iplayer.I so want to love this phone [ having rubbished my iphone / nokia friends ] but a quick look through the forums suggests there may be problems with Wi-Fi.
View 10 Replies View RelatedWhen I'm on a call and a 2nd call comes in, my phone doesn't ring or anything. Is there anyway to change this so that I know when I have a call waiting without having to look at the screen (which is usually pressed up against my ear)?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis may be a simplistic question, but one reason I went with a web browser phone is so I can do browsing while in the airport. Is this possible with the phone as it is or do I need to use Wifi? To be honest not even exactly sure what it is used for.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am the proud owner of a Hero, and like it! The only issue I have is that I use a website to book golf on-line. There's an icon which gives a list of all the courses. On a standard PC there's a bar on the right side of the list which you slide up or down to acess about 50 courses. On the Hero I can open the list, but it only shows the first 6 courses, and not the bar. For the life of me I have tried everything and I can't find a way to access the "hidden"courses. Does this problem ring a bell with anyone?
View 7 Replies View RelatedNot sure if its just me, but flash content doesn't show up when browsing. Is there a setting that needs to be turned on or off? If there is an update, how do i do so? For example adobe home page On side note: when I hit the pre installed google bookmark it brings me to a French version. I edited that bookmark but I just thought it was funny
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that when I am browsing web pages I cannot receive phone calls - they go straight to voicemail. I am using a T-Mobile G2 on the T-mobile network in the UK. Is this a standard issue and, if so, are they any ways of dealing with it?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've just got a new Hero and before I replaced the bundled memory card with my own I had a really nice 'view' for browsing tracks in Music. Now I've put my own memory card in and applied the album art, I don't have this nice view any more. It used to show tracks with big album art pics that you could flick through horizontally, iPhone style. Now I get a crappy looking vertical list with tiny pics and can't get the other view back. How do I do this ?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was so happy when I was able to pull myself away from the iphone and really was hoping for great things with my new hero.I must say the hero is great! BUT Im tempted everytime I go online with my Hero to either stamp on it or throw it out the window.I used to surf a lot at home over wifi with my iphone, It was quick always a great connection absolutly no problems. Now i have no iphone and surf with my Hero, must say the worst and most annoying situation from a surfing point of view.I have full bars on wifi connection, yet it is sooo slow. But not only slow I also need to refresh the page i want to view at least 3 or 4 times till the network error dissapears and the webpage is shown, same goes when accessing the market app.Like I said the hero itself is really great, but at the moment for me it is a much more pleasent experience surfing over wifi on the iphone.I thought I was over the iphone groupie phase but it looks like their going to get me back unless maybe theres someone who knows about this wifi problem.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI do not have a refresh button on my htc hero default web browser. A lot of people are stating it is on "menu" then the bottom left button but my bottom left button is "bookmarks" and no option to refresh page.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got the weirdest problem ever with my HTC Hero. The gmail application does not refresh automatically so as to fetch incoming e-mail. Even worse, it doesn't even do that when I manually do that (menu --> refresh)There is one situation: If I change one of the settings for Labels ("description = select which labels are syncronised") it does fetch e-mail from my inbox, but only if I manually refresh. It doesn't make any sense that my gmail application can only fetch new mails after a (random) modifcation in my settings. I would like my gmail to refresh .... well.. as often as possible and automatically, since I will not know beforehand when someone has sent me a mail.
For the moment my label settings are as follows:days for syncronisation: 1 day
labels
inbox: syncronise for all items
with star: syncronise for all items
eehh. well actually all my folders are "syncronise for all items"
I am a newbie and just started coding in android. I have got a task on which I want a little help from you all. This is the problem :"Track web browsing and browsing related activities including user's total time spent online, complete URI's and timestamps, downloads initiated from the browser. Differentiate between main , embedded and redirected URI." I dont know where to search and how to go about it. Any kind of help would be really helpful. Please post your expert comments and help as early as possible.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI used my Hero this morning/afternoon with music, wi-fi, internet browsing, and I used up the first half of the battery. And after that, I have been mostly studying and not using my phone... but the second half of the batter drains, it seems like, FASTER than the first half did! No music playing, no wi-fi, no internet browsing? Is this normal? Is it just the nature of these batteries?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSome time ago we discussed in a separate thread whether it was possible to save web pages from the Browser app for browsing off-line when an internet connection was not available. At the time the simplest workaround that was suggested involved emailing a link to oneself, opening the link and saving the web page on a PC, then copying the saved page to the Hero's SD card.In fact, if all you want to save is the text content of a web page (without any pictures or other linked content), this can be done straight from the Hero Browser. Long-pressing on a link brings up various options including one, "Save link", which actually saves the target of the link to the downloads folder on the SD card. If the target is an html file then that file (and only that file) will be saved.I still think it would be good to have a "save web page" option which saves not just the text but the images and other linked content as well. But, in the meantime, this "Save link" option is a good deal better than nothing.
View 12 Replies View RelatedBeen pushed over to the new outlook app from hotmail yesterday. I the issue im having is that it wont connect and download/recieve/notify me of any emails if im on mobile internet. If i connect to my Wi-fi at home, within seconds they all come flooding in.
It does nothing if i try and refresh it either. I have 3 "hotmail" accounts on the app, all of which worked fine when still using hotmail app..

How can I stop my desire vibrating whilst I am inserting text, its getting very annoying now I want it to vibrate when I receive calls/texts etc but not every time I touch the screen?
View 6 Replies View RelatedThere is probably a simple setting that I am totally missing, but it is starting to frustrate me that I can't access my phone whilst I am on a call. The only way I can see to activate my blank screen is to press the power button which ends my call. Is there a setting somewhere that I can change?
View 4 Replies View RelatedBeen slowly building my app and now JUnit is crashing regularly with logcat as below.
There are no other real hints. No relevant code as this can happen at multiple points of the code. There are no other errors or exceptions thrown. As far as I can tell there is plenty of memory left and my app does not appear to have any leaks I can find during a run outside of JUnit.

When driving I have the phone on the dashboard but do not feel comfortable pressing a button or dragging the menu down to answer a call. I don't have a hands free kit or bluetooth headset and wondered if there is a way of answering by voice and then speaking over the loudspeaker?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI keep all my music on my PC in MP3 format at 320kbps. I prefer 192kbps on my phone as I'm not too concerned about quality on the move and I can fit more music on that way. I don't want to keep 2 versions of each album as I have loads and that's not really practical. At the moment I sync using WMP12 as it allows you to re-encode to a lower bitrate as it syncs but the only problem is that it re-encodes to WMA format. I don't really have a problem with that as it's only going on my phone but with Froyo there's a bug that means the phone can no longer read the artist tag of WMA files. Since Froyo has now been out for months and there's no word about the bug from Google it appears there's no chance of it getting fixed (a cunning ploy to stop people using WMA seems the most likely explanation I guess) So can anyone recommend a piece of software I can use for Windows that will re-encode to a lower MP3 bitrate as I sync? Does such a thing exist?
View 2 Replies View RelatedPhone Highlights: S-Off. Stock Froyo. Rooted. ClockworkMod installed.

OK, it was my fault - I was stoopid.. I was having issues with Marketplace and then found that GTalk wasn't working and, well, one thing followed another and I blew away the GTalk APK. Stoopid I know, but it happens.
So given that finding another copy of GTalk 1.3 is proving rather hard, I think option 2 is to restore the stock Rom.
I have S-Off and Clockwork Mod and I rooted with 2.1.0 previously. I've got a recent Nanodroid backup (not recent enough to have the APK on it though - ) and continuous Titanium Backups all nestled neatly on my SD.
Now, bear in mind I've had several weeks of hell at work, my mind's not firing on all cylinders when it comes to me lil' Droid so you'll have to forgive me if this is a real silly question, but....
What steps do I need to follow to return back to my stock 2.2 rooted goodness after I've used ClockworkMod to do an image recovery? Can I assume that the recovery will just put stock Froyo back on? If so, do I need to do a Nanodroid restore afterwards and are there any steps I need to follow to become re-rooted once complete?
I should add that apart from a lack of Marketplace right now, the phone is otherwise perfectly happy and functional.
My desire is deleting my emails whilst I'm reading them! I'm having to log in to virgin to finish reading them. How do I stop it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a brand new desire and was streaming a file from a webpage in bed last night, but the screen doesn't go completely dark, nor does it 'lock' - you can accidentally touch the screen and interfere with the playback. If I try to lock the phone it kills playback. I would really like to be able to lock the screen whilst media is still playing through the headphones.
