what will be lost, contacts? photos? apps installed? im guessing SD card data will be unaffected.

After a system update a day ago, the contacts photos have disappeared. Anyone know why this happened, or how to get them back? I tried re-synchronizing my accounts, but the photos still dont show.
View 1 Replies View RelatedA couple days ago I manually installed froyo for Rogers network.It went fine.however the next day I lost my data.I can't get it back no matter what I do.Can anyone help me get it back?Or know how?I checked my APN settings a million times,I called Rogers and they refreshed my network but still not working. If I reboot my phone, I get the 3g symbol for about 2 seconds then it goes away and that's it.Someone please help me if you can!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was sitting at my desk and work and saw the "System Update" notification pop up on my phone. I grabbed my phone, stood up, and showed my coworker. Unfortunately, in doing so I accidentally pressed "Update Now." I had planned to post-pone the update until I got home so I could Unrevoked Forever and S-Off. It's currently in the middle of installing (little ! icon w/ the Android guy next to it). I guess I'm going to lose my root. Any idea how long I'll have to wait to gain it back?

A few months ago it started randomly resetting itself. 2 months ago it started resetting itself then going into a reset loop for a few minutes until it stayed on. A little while ago it just started shutting off and not turning back on for a couple of hours.
I searched on Google and there was a suggestion to update the software. I read the instructions and noted it said to do a backup. I went to m.sonyericcson.com/backup on the phone, downloaded the latest backup software, and created a backup. Took quite awhile but said it was successful. I then connected to the computer and did the software update. Turned the phone on and tried to do my restore thinking everything worked great. Unfortunately when I load the backup file it says
File Error: Cannot read selected backup file
Did I just totally ***** myself and lose all of my data? Any ideas on how to make this backup file work? I will go back to 1.6 if it means I can actually use my phone, at this point it is useless without any of my contacts, programs or text conversations
I just completed the RUU update to get my Telus Desire onto froyo and all went smoothly...except...now I don't have data? Phone works, wifi connection works...but I don't have data off wifi.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI have alot (and I mean ALOT) of apps on my Xperia, so I get around 5 app updates a day, which is now starting to agitate me because most of them are the same apps everyday needing updates.
Today I heard about an update for the market that includes an auto update feature for installed apps. But I, like many others, do not see this option on the market.
Does anyone have any idea how to get it? or if I can't get it, when can I?
So i did the update to froyo went smoothly however no data. phone works but can't get on internet or setup gmail. went back to cyanogen and still no data now.

Luckily i had a backup app on there so was able to restore them all but dont know why this happened

View 2 Replies View RelatedToday I went to update my X10. While at work it wouldn't allow me to as it insisted I connected it to a computer. So at home I got the USB cabled hooked up to my Linux Laptop and then discovered it had to be a windows computer. Anyway, I got it hooked to a Windows computer and the update process began. I followed every instruction and set all tickboxes for backup. After unplugging this and plugging it back in and rebooting here and there, it finally reached the restore process. I left it restoring for a while.
When I came back to it, it said something had crashed. I don't know what as I'd just woken from a nap. But, it seems all my applications are restored. Yet my gmail account & facebook account have become disassociated from my phone and all my contacts no longer have any names or pictures. I opened the contacts/phone book and the list is completely empty. I tried to import contacts but it says it cannot find any anywhere. I have work related contacts as well as family & friends and really need to get my contacts back - please advise?
I need help recovering my contacts. I installed the update and things seem to be going well but I can't figure out how to get my contacts back into my phone. Can someone please help? Thanks

Things work OK on WiFi. Phone & texts work OK anyway. I am not aware of having done anything. How that would work for a pre-installed app? As an initial thought I think I could pop up a message letting the user know there is a new version ready, but if I could avoid unnecessary request to the server it would be better. If a google engineer comes across this please give me a hint as you do this for Google Maps.

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust installed first non HTC based ROM (CM10). It doesn't ask to sign in with gmail and then doesn't sync contacts and apps. I tried putting in my gmail account where it asked for my email and yet no contacts or apps.

I have just updated xperia x10 from 1.6 to 2.1 (Rogers) and figured it out that all my applications were lost.Before the update, I installed the last PC Companion Software from SE and made two backups using the backup and restore application.After the update, when I tried to restore using it, there's no market application checkbox. Everything else (contacts, messages..) was restored.The paid applications are shown in the Market Download tab to install, but just that (because they are associated with google account).Nothing more. I lost about +50 apps with their user data.I searched all the net about it, but the only info I found it was that the backup and restore tool just save the application links.How about the user data? I reinstall some of the apps that I had, but no user data. Am I the only one that had this problem? Is there any advanced tool to try to undelete internal memory of the phone?

I was told to head to data syncronization>google> unclick contacts, in order to solve this issue. The probalem is shortly after i did that the majority of my phone contacts were deleted! I only have contacts S through Z in my contact list now. Any ideas on what I should do or what happened?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I did a hard reset of my Vibrant a few days ago (delete user data). I was able to reinstall most of my apps very easily because the market still had them listed in the downloads section. The only problem is, the preinstalled apps were all reset to their original versions, and I can't update them. The two that I'm concerned with in particular are Google Maps and T-Mobile My Account. If I look at them in the market, the only control available is "Open". "Uninstall" is greyed out and disabled. Basically, the market thinks that I already have the latest version installed, even though I don't, so it doesn't give me the option to update. The My Account app is completely broken. If I try to run it, it just sends me to the market saying that I need to update it. Then of course, the market doesn't give me that option, so I can't use the app at all.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my Incredible since 4/28, and everything has been working smoothly up until about last Thursday night when it just restarted out of the blue while I was listening to music. Then right after it booted up, it restarted again, then again about seven more times. I got fed up and took out the SD card and it seemed to stop after that, so I haven't put the SD card back in since then.
Just now, Wednesday, about a week later, I was browsing around on the internet and all of a sudden, it restarted, and then again, and again, and again. I've read that it is because of poor signal strength or something like that so I had just enough time to put it in airplane mode before it restarted again.
Side note, that theory about it being caused by poor signal seems to make sense because the first time it happened to me I was out of town in a city that gets very bad coverage with Verizon, and now today when it started happening again was at my house where for some reason I get very bad service with the incredible, my old phone worked perfectly fine in my house but the incredible gets terrible service, and so does my brother's Droid. In fact, about two weeks ago I got my first dropped call on Verizon in about three years, and it was in my house.
So anyways, I decided to put it in airplane mode, and just after I put it in airplane mode it restarted again. Then when it booted back up my Helix Launcher 2 home screen went back to the standard Helix Launcher 2 icons, I go into my messages and everything is gone, my contacts are all gone, everything is gone. I go to the app menu and all my apps are still there, but when I start up an app, all the custom settings are default now. I went into the settings and my accounts are all still there. I click on internet and I get a terms of service agreement, it's as if I am booting it up for the first time, but for some reason my apps and accounts are all still there.
I turn airplane mode off thinking it might have something to do with it not being connected to my google account, and I restart it again and everything is still gone. I don't know what to do, has this happened to anyone before? I feel like there should be a way for me to get this stuff back since my apps are still there and my accounts are still synced, but random things are missing like my contacts and messages etc. This is really starting to get annoying, I have insurance and everything, but I really don't want to exchange it for another one because I've read that other people who have had there phones replaced have still had the same rebooting problem, even after going through multiple replacements.
