Whenever I text only a few specific people I get a message saying
9230: Message sent using invalid number of digits. Please resend using 10 digit number or valid short code. Msg 2114
All of my contacts numbers and in 10 digits example: 123 - 456 - 7890 this only happens with certain contacts but I don't see what the issue is. Does anyone else get this issue or know how to fix it?

I have a friend who is added to my Desire's contact list.
1. He is on my Facebook contact. (His facebook pic appears in my Desire contact list)
2. He is my Gmail contact as well.
3. He is added as a 'Phone Contact' as well.
I sent him a text few days ago but don't remember if it was using facebook or my phone (network provider sms) but now when I go in to 'Messages' and send him a message, I just can't figure out if I am sending him a message via Facebook or to his mobile number.
When sending a text message, I click on "new message," then type in the person's name.
When I do, it will show the person's name and phone number more than 20+ times! It's actually doing this for every contact I have, but only when I'm searching for a name when I'm trying to send a text message.
It doesn't affect my sending or receiving of messages, but it's a little annoying.
Just noticed that when I click on the "People" icon from home screen that some of my contact names are listed more than a dozen times!
Anyone else's text not working right now? I keep getting 9230 or 2112 error
View 22 Replies View RelatedMy sprint HTC hero for some reason will all the sudden stop allowing me to get text messages and mine that I send don't seem to reach the phone I am sending it to. It will stop working out of the blue and start back up. The only reason I know that it stops is because the person I am texting shows me that they never received a message from me and I never got one from them. My phone does not tell me I cant receive or send it just stops and I never know. When it starts working again it does not ever send the messages I didn't receive.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am switching from a BB. I receive text messages from my office with client's phone numbers. We prefer to keep our mobile numbers private, so we need to block our caller id on a per call basis. It wouldn't work for us to block caller id on all calls. On my BB, I would copy and paste the number and then add *67 as a prefix.
On the Hero I can't find a way to edit the phone number from the text message. I can delete it, but can't add to it. Most of these numbers I would not want to add to my address book. I had my office text the number with *67 as a prefix, but the Hero doesn't recognize the *. It just copies the digits. What workaround options do I have?
When I text the number it fails, I double checked, the number is correct, I deleted his contact and noticed a capital N in front of his number. I manually typed his number to text and again it failed to send and again it had put a capital N in front of his number
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a small but very annoying issue sending texts sometimes...Basically my office has an intermittent signal so occasionally my connectivity drops. If this happens while I'm trying to send a text the message just sits there with the 'processing' animation (the spinning circle thingy) going constantly - it rarely times out and outright fails, usually just continually tries even when I'm back into a good signal area (I've even left it in a good signal area and checked hours later to find it still trying!). I've tried going in and out of airplane mode or even turning the phone off and on to try to get it to just fail so I can send again but nothing makes it give up or succeeed. When it gets into this state the only way out seems to be to delete the message and enter it again. (for info I'm using Handcent, but checking in native message service shows similar effect so don't think thats related)

i was just wondering if anyone knows how to stop this message from sending so it doesn't keep going off telling me that its failed again?
If I send a text message to multiple recipients it sends as an MMS. I understand that this happens by design on some networks if you're sending a text to more than 10 people at once, but I was only sending the same text to 2 people. I'm with T-Mobile and I have unlimited texts as part of my contract, but MMS messages cost 20p each, so obviously I don't want this to happen. Can this be changed so the messages send as regular texts?

Do you guys have any input on this?
I dont get it.how do you create a group to put contacts into, which you can send a message to, instead of writing to them one by one?

I assumed that there would be an easy way to copy the number from my contacts and paste it into a text message. However I couldn't work it out and had to go down the traditional route of writing it on a piece of paper then sending the text! Hardly a good advert for the new 'uberphone' that the desire is billed as! So, is there a way to do it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Hero is frequently haven't problems with failed SMS messages. It's increased since I upgraded the handset to Three's official 2.1 upgrade, although it had a habit of failing messages when it was running 1.5, too.
Three have swapped my handset because of previous issues with it, so it would appear to be a network/ Android issue.
Prior to switching ROMs back and forth, I was able to nandroid off of my phone with no issue. Now, I cannot and at first I found it slightly alarming, but then I brushed it off. However, I feel like something might be wrong with my phone? Help?
Also, recently (as in today). My phone has been sending messages to other people, randomly. I got a phone call from my mother but it popped up as a totally different number.
I created a popup-menu in my actionbar using a custom action provider. I use API 18.
I have an icon in the right edge of the action bar, if I click this icon my popup menu appears, so far no problem. If I click the icon, following message appears in the Log:

My mobile provider send me it message two-three times when I turn on my cliq. Need help to turn off this.
So when sending text messages, I get the following message every single time i press 'send'
"com.android.mms A large number of text SMS messages are being sent. Select 'ok' to send"
So.....I did send out 100+ messages within like 5 minutes...just sending out a mass txt message letting people know of my new number. So is this Androids way of anti-spam?
I need a way to turn it off, because now I have to make this extra step every single time i send a text message

View 6 Replies View RelatedI think I'm experiencing my first real problem with my Hero. I've noticed that my wife (and who knows who else) hasn't been getting my txts when I send them... Sometimes it takes a full day for her to get them. Email has been delayed the past couple days, too. Items will sit in the outbox for hours and when I pull them up, there's red text saying it's sending..." This happens whether I'm connected to WiFi or just using the mobile radio. 2 bars or 5 bars, it doesn't seem to matter.

I remember seeing some tips when I first got the phone last year and it helped...I'm having no luck my own. Also, when I go to send a pic with text, it is compressing the pics very small and the quality goes to crap. Went into text setting and set the file size to the largest, but it doesn't seem to help.

Used to happen every once in a while, now doing it multiple times a day. I use Handcent but I doubt that is the problem because the messages dont show up in the regular messaging either. Just want to see if i am alone with this problem.
