Soince the 2.1 upgrade on my Orange Hero I get not only an anonymous empty text message which I can't get rid of but also every time I get a misssed call, the Notification can't be permanently deleted. Every time my phone is switched off and back on they re-appear. I now have 6 missed calls shown when I switch back on.

Every once in a while I receive an empty text message that says the sender is anonymous and has no phone number assigned to it. It also shows as being saved to the sim card, which is weird coz the others arent! anyone ever received anything like this too? I didn't get this on my old Sony Ericsson w995 which used the same Sim and plan that i am on now.

The envelope that usually appears in the notification bar doesn't show anymore, but when I look at my mail shortcut on the homescreen, it shows the green circle with the number of new emails. View 6 Replies View RelatedYesterday I had a missed called. I wanted to check at what time this person had called me. When I clicked on the phone icon that's at the bottom of the screen it opens all my call history (incoming, outgoing and missed calls).
But it doesn't not list anytime stamp for any type of call. I click on the menu button and click on call history. I click on the menu button again and click on the View option. Then I select Missed calls. The time stamps just show the day. For example some of them say 3 days ago or Yesterday but no time.
The only way i'm able to see the actual time of the missed call is if I open that person contact card and view the history from there.
Is there a way I can get this information with out having to open up the contacts?
I'm not sure if this was ever addressed but my EVO doesn't notify me of a new text while I'm on a call. Is there even an option for us to receive an alert of a new text while we're on the phone?

View 6 Replies View RelatedOn my previous phone it had a "full lock" feature on it that when a text message or phone call came in it would show all stars on the screen and require my password before you could answer the call or view the text message does the hero have that option or is there an app I can download?
I tried the pattern lock thing it has but if a call comes through or a text message comes through it still allows you to answer and/or view the message without entering the lock pattern..
Does anyone know how to turn off the text message notification sound whilst on call? Ive never noticed this before my phone updated to the new 2.2 software and my old nokia used to give a little beep but the desire is a full blown message tone in your ear! Makes me jump everytime. Ive started putting my phone on vibrate to avoid this dreaded noise.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI need pop-up notifications of missed voice calls and SMS text messages. The pop-up should remain on the screen until dismissed/acknowledged. If the screen times out, I would like the message to reappear after I log in to the phone. Generally I can't get my phone out quickly enough to see the original message. I can't tell whether I've missed a call or a text message, so I have to check both. I find the missed call format especially unfriendly. I'm using Calendar Event Reminder and loving it. It would be great to find soemthing that works similarly for calls and text messages.
I must have installed some app or selected some option. About 5 minutes after missing a text message the phone produces an very annoying sound. I hope that when I install a new notification app or setting that this annoyance will go away.
I have a Droid Razr. When I'm on the phone I have to just keep looking at my phone to see if I got a text. How can I change it so I can hear something to notify me?

1. Can't lock screen while in a call. Red button just hangs up the call.
2. Apps cannot be installed to sd card. Internal Phone Storage after a device wipe shows about 136MB free. I downloaded about 5 or 6 apps and the phone ran out of room. I deleted the apps, but the space was not reclaimed. This is why I had to reset the device. Now I am afraid to install apps without filling it up again.
3. Bluetooth does no always connect back to my headset. sometime I have to turn on/off bluetooth on phone. Sometimes I have to reboot phone. One time I installed Pandora and bluetooth would not work until I figured out that removing Pandora would fix it.
4. Camera is no good.
5. WIFI cannot connect to an N router running in mixed mode (a,b,g,n). You must "dumb" down the router to b,g mode in order to connect the phone. This means hat other users who have no issues with N have to suffer the reduced speed of b,g.
6. No way to "EXIT" an app to reclaim RAM.
7. KB not as accurate as the iphone.
8. I have disabled HTC Sense and it is still slow. For example, often when I load favorites, nothing displays for about 3-4 seconds. This is not acceptable.
Overall, not a very tested or mature OS. I feel like I should not be starting from scratch like this. The folks at Android are guilty of using the consumer as a guinea pig. This is not acceptable. We are not reinventing the wheel, so why are obvious features missing?
I'm happy with my Orange UK 2.1 updated Hero except I have no microphone icon on the popup keyboard for converting speech to text. Tried within Handcent and vanilla messages app and elsewhere. I have used this feature on a friend's unbranded Hero running 2.1 (in Egypt) so is it missing from Orange UK ROM or have I missed a settng for enabling it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have searched my HTC Incredible up and down but I can't find the option to set how often it rings to let you know that you have a missed call or text. Right now me phone only rings once. This is the most basic feature and there has to be a way to change but I can't find it for the life of me. Even my old razor let me set it to ring every 5 minutes or so for missed calls. I can hook my phone into my pc and stream internet off it but for the life of me I can't figure this out!

I left my daughter sitting at school for 30mins the other night since I didn't see the message until I hung up from my voice call! When I have a status bar notification with a number inside, it shows the number fine. But later if I show another notification to replace this one, with no number, it shows an empty red circle. This circle shouldn't be there. How do I remove the red circle? See image here: http://jump.fm/UYHGV.

There was a setting on the Blackberry while sleeping, the phone would be the only thing to ring or make nose. Email notifications, etc., would be silent. View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I recently rooted my phone to 2.1. Great btw! but that is not the point. When I get a text message, I get a series of notifications. I get one from the stock phone's stock txt msg app, and one from the phone, which link to the stock app. Plus, if i download handsent, thats 3 notifications per text! So I take the stock txt msg app notifications off and everything so that one does not notify me anymore. But I still get a notification from my phone, not the stock txt app. I dont even know what app or program is notifying me of a text!!. The icon on the notification bar is a postcard (similar to the stock txt app). When I pull down the notification bar menu, the icon is an opened envelope. When I click it to check, it directs me to the stick txt app. It is weird and annoying. I just want my handsent app to notify me. How can I go about doing that? Any help would be great. There was some talk about this, but no resolution. Anyone else have this problem?

I can change it to any of the preloaded stock sounds and click ok but when I get a text it still plays the stock sound. I also tried using custom and that didnt work either. I have searched and searched and found nothing. And I am using the proper folder structure on the sd card for the customs. Does anyone have any ideas at all? Im getting very frustrated.
