HTC Hero : Led And Buttons Lights Don't Work / Way To Fix

I have my HTC Hero, I have tried some applicationes from market, all from top 100. But suddenly, LED get dead, don't work for incoming calls, charge, and notifications, also background lights in buttons and trackball not work. I have set factory reset twice, and a hard reset, I have change de SD card. No way, led still dead. All other functions works fine.
Anybody have the same problem? any idea or solution. I have sent a email to HTC I'll wait a response.

Ive got a hero and its been updated with the 2.1 but since Ive done this the lights for the little buttons don't work anyone got any idea why

A while ago, the buttons on the earphones that came with my phone just stopped working. Now they no longer accept an incoming call, stop music, skip to next track, go back a track etc. They don't seem to have any functionality. I've tried restarting the phone and things to no avail.

Alright well I got my Hero on release date(After going through 3 Pre's! ). Well so far I love it. Battery life has been just fine(And thats with the system at 100% lol), and the apps are amazing. But I have a question. I noticed there's two LED lights at the top of the phone. Yet I've only ever seen one light up! Is this how it is for everyone else? Only my left one lights up(green for texts, and amber for charging). And my friend's G1's Scroll Wheel also lights up, and was just wondering why ours doesn't.

I have this really crappy eye disorder I inherited genetically. It means my ability to see low light when other light is on is really poor. It's called Retinues Pigmentation. When the screen of my HTC Hero is on, I can't see the physical buttons at the bottom at all, they just come across too dark to me in contrast to the light screen. What would be really be ideal is for the buttons to stay on as long as the screen is on. Basically, if the screen is lit, so are the buttons. I know this would deplete energy, but it would be totally worth it for me. Do you think there is any way I could implement this, and is there someone I could mention it to for the future?

I wanted to use my HTC for an alarm clock because then i could save the electricity that my old alarm clock uses. Sometimes i wake up and have a look at my alarm clock but now i have to reach over and get the phone and press a button to get it to light up...very bright in the middle of the night. SO....What i was thinking. If i buy a charger stand for my hero is it somehow possible to tell the phone to run the screen lights on lowest light setting when it is charging... This way i would be able to se the clock without being blinded. IF this is not an option would someone please pass this on to goggle/htc as a request or tell me how i do it.

If anyone can work out why these have stopped working I will pay $15.00 through paypal as a reward, I have searched the internet for days and days and still have no information, apart from other people have the same problem. Also I have reset my phone, etc., still no good.

Just curious if anyone else has noticed the trackball and buttons randomly turning on and off or not coming on at all? Before the update I think they turned on when used...it doesn't bother me though just kind of weird..

is there an option to turn this off or limit the time as you can for the screen...this is not normal bc i just watched several utube videos and their button lights turn off when user is just doing touch screen stufff....pls help. this may be a setback from updated to 2.1 leak

I have been trying for the last 3-4 days to get my buttons to work and I can't figure out what my problem is. I feel like it is so simple, yet I just don't see it.
Current task: Getting the buttons to display a Toast message so that I can ensure the buttons are working.
Next task: Create an increase and decrease counter..

I am trying to get my first button to update a display number in my view when clicked. This view will have several buttons and "outputs" displayed. After reading examples and Q's here, I finally put something together that runs, but my first button is still not working;
Some of this appears unnecessary at the moment (ie. Gravity on makeView), but it works! And should work for the 10-20 buttons I want to do misc things with.The key was getting listeners right, and the whole set-up for TextSwitcher was abit awkward...still learning.

I got a privacy screen protector for my Fascinate and it looks GREAT, except one problem. Now I am having sensitivity issues. All the buttons seem to work on the screen except the locked ones on the bottom (phone, contacts, messaging, applications). I can use ALL other buttons except these will not work.

I have an xml page with 3 buttons on all leading to similar xml files. However, the second and third buttons only respond if the first has been pressed (and then you go back a page and press another). If I reverse the order of the buttons in the java file, which ever button is listed first is the one that has to be used befor the others.
Here is my java for the buttons:

I purchased the HTC Incredible and got it last week. In the last couple of days, I noticed the buttons at the bottom of the phone were sometimes lit and sometimes not. I went into the Verizon store today to pre-order the TV out cable and asked the tech about the lights. He said HTC was aware of several bugs and there will be an update shortly that will remedy them. On the TV out cables, they're all sold out. They're selling like hotcakes - same as the Incredible.

I'm having a small problem with some onClick events, it's probably my .java file, the problem is once i test the app, virtual or real device, there are 2 buttons, 1 for Facebook(button1) and 1 for Twitter(button2), the Twitter one won't work until the Facebook one has been "clicked" and then you have to press back to then "click" the Twitter button.
I'm new to this so knowing my luck the java file is stating that "button2 will only work once button1 has been clicked"

I've rewrited my htc's rom and after restarting my phone iam seeing only HTC logo so I think that my phone has no ROM now (flashing took too short, i know my bad, needed to flash it again...). There will be no problem, but my + and - buttons doesn't work, so i can't open my recovery menu.

Every now and then when I get a text and try to reply, none of the letter buttons will work. From what I've tried, the only way to fix it is to exit all the way out of the messaging application and go back in. The buttons will animate like they are being pushed, vibrate, and even show swype trails and word suggestions, but none of my words will show up on the screen.
I haven't figured out the specific instances when this happens. It seems a little random but I think it may only happen when I lock the screen without leaving the messaging application first, I get a text, and try to reply immediately from the app. But I'm really not sure - it might just be random.

I have Navon Platinum 10 and I bricked it.I can still upload firmware to the device via Livesuit.All I need is stock or custom firmware.Device is based on Allwinner A10.I tried many roms, but i couldn't find working ones. Best firmware i have found runs, but touchscreen and button's don't work.

Does the web browser on the Hero have the little zoom in/out buttons like other Android phones? Is there anything like this? The reason I ask is that multitouch, while very cool, doesn't look very practical when you're using the phone with one hand as that only really leaves the thumb free for key pressed and screen touches.

I was trying out the Hero this afternoon, and I noticed that the 'back' button is a bit awkward placed.It felt like it was hard to reach with my thumb when holding the phone in one hand (the rightside hand). The Magic has the back button closer to the trackball, which is much easier to access.Anyone else have the same experience? Or am I the only one that uses this button quite often?Is there a possibility to re-map the hardware buttons?

I am not able to find out the perfect layout(viewgroup) to place four buttons as shown in the attached image. Basically, i want to place four buttons near the top/left/bottom/right edge of the screen. AbsoluteLayout helped, but it is deprecated (It is also better to avoid AbsoluteLayout as it is not very flexible for orientation changes)

I've noticed the Home and Menu buttons are slightly in further than the other buttons, possibly indicative of that prolonged use could affect their stability. So i download and purchase this app, but it changed my whole home screen around and now i dint have the bottom layer of buttons? Any suggestions?I am rooted fresh 1.1, looks like sense isnt working? When i press the home button ask me to go home or sense? I am confused not sure what happend? I rebooted and same crap When i press sense it says fresh and black screen then force closes.
