I accidentally removed the default Weather App on the Main Page. This is the nice weather app on the main screen which takes up about 1/2 of the screen.
I went to add it back but I cannot find it. When I try to add the HTC weather map, it says there is no room - it wants to take up the entire screen.
Where is the default weather app that goes on the main screen that takes up half of the screen only?

It says my location is London, when it's Manchester. Also, it doesn't display the weather unless I open it.
Am I right in thinking I can just uninstall it and install a new one?
Even having this thing sync regularly its not accurate. Where is this weather coming from? I changed to weather bug and weather channel, both free apps are way better accuracy wise.

Is it possible to make it so the widget shows weather info for a user-specified location? I was able to add an additional location once inside the HTC Weather app (by scrolling down), but I have had no luck finding anywhere to change the location that appears on the actual home screen.
It wouldn't be such a problem since it does correctly display my location (New York), but it is WAY off in terms of weather. For example, the widget is showing 72 degrees when it's actually 85. That's a HUGE difference and it's bothering me a lot.
I'm assuming it is pulling weather data from somewhere in upstate NY and not from NYC (where I am)? The manual entry I added is showing correct info, but it's very annoying having incorrect data showing up on the home screen and having to click into the widget and then scroll down to get the actual info.

First of all, when I serach those strings in the market, I get the same hits as above. Now, I tried the 'Weather widget - Free' application, and that was wrong.
I've searched for 'Beautiful widgets', but find nothing.
Do I need an external application called 'weather widget donate' or something, or am I supposed to use the native 'News and weather' application on my Nexus One? In that case, how do I find/get it?
I had uninstalled the Weather Widgets app with the HTC style flip clock because I had falsely believed it was causing some FC crashed on my Droid. When I re-installed it, it appears that the flip clock now defaults to a transparent backing with white lettering. Is there any way to get it back to plain white with black lettering? I haven't installed any extras...just the default. Attached is a screen cap of what the flip clock looks like now. I want to get it back to the traditional HTC style flip clock look. Any ideas?

Method to allow myself to install apps and games to my external 32gb external sd card and set this as my default install location as my internal storage is small and i always have problems with available space . I have been told this can be done on adb on computer with running special commands to change default install location. Is this true ? However, I also live near my university campus (with campus-wide wifi). So I'm thinking to get the phone but not get any data plan (so not EDGE) and primarily connect to the internet through wifi. (Until I leave campus anyway) So I know at times I might not be able to connect to the internet. so how would this effect my daily uses for the phone? Such as...
1) Can I update my calendar app with all the details before I leave home and it'll still remember all the events/details without having to connect the internet again?
2) Can I update the weather app, and then it'll remember the info even without the internet?
If I use the clock widget with weather it will not display the weather. It comes up with the correct current location (Edinburgh) but no weather. Also if you go the the weather widget it will not give any weather for Edinburgh ?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Hero rebooted itself when i cut it off and cut it back on due to aggravation of lag. after spending half the day fooling with getting back some apps, my contacts from google and the whole issue with syncing facebook to my contacts. i thought i could easily just look up my city for the weather widget location.
Well before the reboot my weather showed just fine, my location and everything. now my city isn't even in the data base and my gps and such is turned on. some of the directions ive read on using the gps to find my location has become a headache because i don't think i have those features.
When i go into my weather settings and click the + sign it goes straight to search location. i type in the name of my city and it doesn't come up.
Anyone using Genie.apk (News and Weather Widget)? I installed the widget for "Weather" and it has been working well, until yesterday. It just says "Sorry, unable to connect, Please try later." And there is a "Retry Now" Button. Pressing retry says "loading" but then returns the same message. I have deleted and reinstalled the widget with the same results. Hopefuly it is just a server issue, and will be fixed shortly.

I have recently bought an HTC Hero and updated it with the new ROM. One of the reasons I bought it is to be able to get stock prices on the move. I do have the following problem. The stocks and weather widgets only update themselves using a WiFi connection and not my 2g/3g network. I don't think is a network problem or a GPRS settings problem as I am able to receive my emails and also connect to the internet using 2g/3g. There must be a problem with the widgets.
