Not sure if I'm missing something really obvious here When I take photos they all go into one folder. In the Albums app I can't seem to create new folders to place photos into. Am I missing something really obvious? If I need an app does anyone have suggestions?

I'm sure it's been asked before but are there any good alternatives to the default Gallery/Albums app?
I have a T-Mobile G2 (HTC Hero) on 1.5 at the moment and the Albums app is such a frustration. I really can't see why the developers didn't figure out a way of navigating a tree structure?
Currently I have a lot of photos and they are stored on the SD card under a directory for year (eg 2007) then a directory for month (eg 03_march) then a directory for the event/place. It's how I store them on the desktop. Of course, the Albums app simply shows me every single directory with photos in, so I lose the ability to navigate by year/month/etc.
I know that Astro file explorer can do what I want, but the image viewer it has is limited and simply not as nice as the Album app, and the thumbnails are too small. Am I alone in NOT wanting to see hundred and hundreds of "albums" but rather see my photos stored how *I* want them stored?
If I copy a complelation album to the SD Card. How do I dispaly the contents of the album and not have a load of individual artists.
If a copy an album by one artist it works ok. I get the album name followed by a list of all the tracks which is what I want from the compelation.
I just got this phone yesterday, so this maybe a really stupid question, but when I plug the Hero into the computer via USB, there is an DCIM file for photos, but when I create a new folder (with my computer) in this folder, it does not appear in the phone's album application.

View 6 Replies View RelatedHaving probs with music on my t-mobile g2 (Hero) can save single mp3's to the sd card and it plays them, how do I get it to recognise albums and tracks within albums, it just seems as if it doesn't like them, tried creating a folder on the sd card with the album name, putting tracks inside this and cannot get it to work? Also want the player to show album art but having difficulty with that too - do I need to use WMP or something else and sync?
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo when I first got my sprint hero when I would go to the music it would open up in such a way that I could finger swipe to flip through albums. Somehow...I've done something so when I open up the music from the icon, it just shows me the current/last album and song I was on. I've clicked all the little icons on the bottom, and they show various top to bottom text menus...but nowhere I can find to get back to make it where the albums are seen in that distance where you finger swipe left/right to flip through them.

When I open a friend's album it shows the thumbnails and once I click on a picture it brings up a (flash looking) photo viewer window. This doesn't allow you comment, like, or view comments on the pictures. Is there a different way to view these, am I missing something?
View 2 Replies View Relatedtoday i was playing around with my hero some more (because like you i can't put it down), and i noticed that when i go into my albums app, and then into the facebook tab, and into my facebook photos, i have no albums to display. i have my phone linked to my facebook account, and i have a couple albums there, including a mobile album that i have uploaded pics to from this phone. so why does it tell me i have no albums in my facebook photos to disply?

On all my old basic phones I could sort out my photo albums easily, placing family photos all together and nudies together as well. On this phone, all photos go in 1 of 2 places. If I take a pic with the camera, it goes in a camera folder. If I pull it off the web or save from a text, they go in a download folder. These seem to be my only options and my pics are a jumbled mess. I've read my book, played with my phone, been to multiple Sprint stores, and searched these forums to no avail. No one seems to know or care. Is there any way I can create new folders and move pics from one to the other?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm new to the site, hopefully be using it a lot now I have my HTC Hero.I've been tinkering with it for a couple days and had to re-format my micro sd card.This means I lost all the high-resolution pictures that come with the phone to use as desktops and whatnot.Can somebody please copy the files off their sd card, upload them somewhere and give me a link to them? or Can anyone tell me how to get pictures I have to look as good as the default ones on the hero do.

Had to disable the one notification supported by Handcent and now is only the default one on which when I click- the Handcent client appears. Once I quit from Handcent, the icon is still on status bar, altough I've read the sms and have to close it via "close notifications" button. How to get rid the default sms notification?

I was pleasantly surprised all of my contacts showed up, all my apps were still there just like I had it when I had 1.5. Oh, and texts and recent calls still being there was another plus.One thing doesn't seem to be working though.My albums are gone! Well, not really. They're still on the SD card with their respective pictures in them, in the albumthumbs folder. I can't see them on the phone, though. My question is this: Does anyone else have this problem? And has anyone fixed it? I tried unmounting the card and remounting, and they still didn't show up. Is there another directory they have to be in with 2.1?

I took pictures, but they didn't upload to Picasa. Can I set this up natively? I've been using Photobucket, but I'd prefer a Google service if it works better.

I had them all in neat little albums on the ipod and i would like to do the same on my phone. Problem is i cant figure out how, other than putting the files into separate folders on my sd card, which i don't like because i like to have a general folder of all of them together with separate albums for specific things, and sometimes a picture would go into more than one album. Is there an app or a way to do this on my phone, I don't mind if the app creates copies of my pictures as long as the original files are left untouched. And is there a way to organize my pictures by name rather than date? Because when I transferred them it don't keep date it was added but rather the date i copied it, and when organized by name its correct because of the numbers in the file name.
View 1 Replies View RelatedToday I got my first ever smart phone - nexus 4. The phone is great and all, but I hate how everything I do on the phone is connected to my google account. For example, when I enter my photo gallery, there are bunch of albums, blogs data, twitter data, random stuff from my google account which I DO NOT want on my phone. When I tried to delete the albums I accidentally made them to appear offline. Now there is no way to delete the albums. When I select a specific album I only get option to see "details". How do I remove them?
I tried removing my gmail account from my phone and it made things even worse. The contacts I manually typed to my phone are gone as well.
I have a droidx 2. I am trying to create a photo album to send to friends. I tried to figure it out on my own and it shows a little icon that made an album, and I have supposedly inserted photos into it, but when I click on it, it doesn't show the pictures in the album. So I don'tdont even know if they are in there or what. how to send it via email if possible. I have the entire droidx 2 64-pg manual downloaded to my device, and none of it says anything about albums.

I can both send and receive emails, but I'm having some issues getting notified and receiving messages consistently. I have my update settings set to every 30 minutes, but often I will check the client only to see that it hasn't been updated for hours. Also, sometimes when I get messages there won't be an email notification or an unread count on the widget.

I had no default defined so that when I tapped a jpg file I got a popup menu asking which app I wanted to open it with. Someway or another I managed to check the box that says use this as the default and tapped the app before I could uncheck it. So now the built in picture viewer is set as the default and I would like to clear that so I get the popup box again.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI switched from the default SMS to handscent SMS recently and I like everything but one little thing. When I get a text, two notifications appear in the top left corner. Once I answer the text, the handscent notification goes away, but the other mail notification will stay until I get another text message or clear all notifications. Is there a setting I have to change to only get one notification? Does this have anything to do with the fact that I had the popup message setting turned on so that every time I got a text a window popped up on my phone allowing me to answer the text much quicker than actually opening up Handscent messaging. Can anyone help me solve this problem? I just uninstalled it because of this reason, but if I can fix it, I would love to reinstall it and use it again.
