Just a quick question, how many colours does the phone come in? This is going to sound VERY picky, but I'd prefer the black phone. After going to CPW I was shown what looked to be a black phone, but the description was 'Brown'. Does anyone have a decent picture of the two?

I have chompSMS and it says that the notification light can be lots of different colours. I have tried changing this but it always comes out green.

Handcent (the SMS app) gives you options to not only change the colour but also the frequency of LED flashes. I have set it up a few times but every time I get a text message, it is he usual green, slow flash - and even then it doesn't always work. I have recently started a job that uses Google Calendars too and so have imported these into my account. However, when I sync them, the colours of each calendar do not match the colours on Google Calendars online. My original 3 calendars colours are all correct, but the recent ones I have added all appear red on the Desire's stock calendar app instead of the colours I have assigned.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just received my HTC Desire on Orange, rooted and de-branded it. Works fine now, I'm on SW version 1.15 as otherwise, I get issues on Orange.
However, the color depth on my device is very poor, it looks like it only has 256 colours if that makes any sense? A bit like on the old PCs when you rebooted and your display graphics drivers weren't properly installed.
Is there any way I can reinstall display drivers on Android? I hope this isn't a hardware issue.

On the Samsung Galaxy S for example, the Tab views, the ListView highlights, Menu Items and Summary line on the Preference Screen are all blue.
There are many apps which immitate the style of the Preference Screen and I want to do the same. Obviously I cannot just hard code and set the colour to Blue, as other handsets use different colours.
The question is, is there a way to programmatically find out what colour the Preference Screen Summary Line, Tabs, or ListView selections are, so that you can then set that against a TextView elsewhere in your app?

I have found that Car phone warehouse and mobile phones direct have much better deals on this phone but not in my prefered colour of black.

Over all of xperia x10 is quite good, nice design, awesome OS , 8.1 camera, very useful media/time scape and a huge 4'' screen.Despite its large screen, the only thing that bring the rating down is the 65k colours. No multi-touch input is all right because most phone out there still having the same capacitive touchscreen, but the 65 colours is really unforgiven.

There are no 16m colours screen anymore. I though no 16m is because software limitation but not its a HARDWARE issue. The different is so much obvious when I view a same picture and a video with Vivaz. Image projection wit x10 look dull but Vivaz picture look better, brighter (set to full brightness) and the colour look richer/darker when viewing the same video. I hope the announcement from the blog is not true, and hope that x10 is 16m colours ready as stated in GSM ARENA review [url] . BUT, overall of this phone are pretty impressive,and actually im having 1 of this. Everything from in and out is pretty good and awesome. Hope everyone in this forum could give their point of view or opinion on the 65k colours screen and wish SE could confirm with us that wheather its 16m ready.

I cant seem to find a way of doing this. I have heard of using Html.fromHtml() but I am not exactly sure how to do it this way.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLast night, I noticed there was a pink blob down in the lower left corner of the screen, it bothered me but wasnt too bad, the rest of the screen looked normal. I went to bed, and when I woke up this morning the ENTIRE screen was pink - apart from that little blob which is now black. The colours are completely ruined, red and white is now pink and it doesnt show yellow at all, the messaging icon etc. is now a dark orange. I just bought the phone on thursday so this is a major problem for me, it's not exactly cheap.
The problem is that I'm from Norway and the Nexus isnt sold here, I bought it from a guy who had bought a lot in the US and was reselling, through our version of eBay. The box was unopened and everything, so it had not been tampered with. The problem is that they maybe won't let me return it because of this, and if I want help I'd have to ship it to the US, no help to get for it here.

2) The colour of my rectangle should change on my input
My HTC Wildfire shows a red LED when charging, which changes to green when fully charged. But as I have red/green colour blindness I cannot tell when it is fully charged. Anyone know of an app that will allow me to change these colours?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just got an HTC Desire that was locked to Telus (Canadian Carrier). I have read that numerous people are using it on Rogers network. From the day I got it when I put my rogers sim card in (the right way) it said "No SIM card in phone" so I could not enter an unlock code. Thinking the SIM was defective went to Telus and tried one of their sim cards and it worked fine, then I went to Rogers thinking it was a problematic card. We tried 4 cards and none of them worked. I then went to Bell (another canadian carrier) and tried their sim card. It worked as well but said that the phone was locked. I purchased an unlock code from the internet which worked. Now the Bell sim card works as well becuase the phone is unlocked. I put my Rogers SIM back into it and it still sais "No SIM card in phone". I also tried a SIM from a european company and it did not work as well. This HTC Desire works on the same 3G 850/1900 GSM that Rogers uses.

Now here is my question : Is there an app that will send an sms to a preallocated number if the phone is booted up with a different sim? I know some Samsung phones can do this. But having an app that requires your own sim to be able to find it if stolen is quite pointless.
I have had my desire a few weeks now. I have a problem with it.Every time i make a phone call or accept a phone call the phone will switch to speaker phone. This happens before i put the phone up to my ear so it is not my face that is turning on speaker phone. If i hold the phone in my hand and dial a number and press call, it goes to speaker phone. If the phone rings and i answer it, it will always go straight to speak phone.

I've tried to put my old Sim in but it doesn't come up with anything in the contacts list.
I just noticed my quota on 3G Watdog shoot up to something unfeasibly high all of a sudden. I thought it was an error so checked my Orange account. It was correct. Then looked and noticed my wifi and 3G icons were on together. My wifi had a signal but the arrows were lighted on the 3G. I toggled my wifi and nothing changed.I rebooted and just the wifi icon appeared. Used some data and 3G watchdog quota held steady.
View 7 Replies View RelatedGot my desire today got it from CPW on 3 so it is unbranded. Not had chance to get it out yet having 18 month twins does that, it robs a man of free time. Anyway, I have no idea what I will be facing once I switch on for the first time, but do you reckon the 2.2 update should be first on the list? Or get to grips with 2.1 first. Also, I expected that a SD card would be included with the phone? Not looked at anything yet i.e. instructions but from a quick look, there isn't one there. Not a major issue, SDs are cheap enough on play if it is just the standard type.
