I recently switched computers, so im trying to reinstall it and im doing so by following the steps in the Pre-requisite section of this guide: http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-eris/53963-guide-stock-1-5-latest-root-2-1-a.html
It says that I should be getting a "#" when i type adb shell since I'm already rooted. Instead, I'm getting "sh-3.2#". Is it safe to continue?

It's only been about three hours, but I've been running my Senseable 3.1 at 806/768 with no ill effects that I can see; nothing but speed and quickness all around the device's apps and menus.
Battery levels don't look any different from when it was running at the default 528.
Still testing, of course, but I have to admit I am startled at this because my first few tweaks on other ROMs would freeze the device when I attempted to go over the mid 700s.
I am of course wary, and will be watching, almost expecting something bad to happen down the line; we'll see.
What is the highest successful setting you have used or are using now?
same carrier, same phone number, just a new phone -how do i setup my voicemail? i tried going into voicemail settings and doing the "*86ppXXXX#" thing and then called *86, but I just get a busy signal forever.what do i need to do?

View 2 Replies View RelatedBack when I got my phone, I transfered an MP3 from the computer to the SD card and selected it as ringtone. it is still there and still works.....but now, after the OTA update, when I go into settings/phone ringtone this sound is not on the list. How do I get it back?
Also, under notifications, in the list of sounds the ones on my SD card are not there. I have a sound stored on the card that I would like to set as the notification. I mounted the card to my computer to verify that these files are indeed on the SD card. The phone just isn't seeing them in the list of available sounds...but, they do play if I go into MP3 or Music app.
Is there a button/setting to get you back to your homepage? Other than creating a bookmark for it.
View 12 Replies View RelatedFYI, the slot cycle defines how often the device wakes up and checks the CDMA network for messages, incoming calls, etc. This does not effect the throughput of a data connection. It will only improve responsiveness for catching incoming calls and messages from the network.Each increment in settings doubles or haves the interval time. Slot cycle 0 wakes the device to check the paging channel every 1.28s. 1 is every 2.56, 2 is 5.12s, etc.Only thing you are doing is using more battery.any other observations are a placebo.
View 30 Replies View RelatedMy wife's stock 1.5 Eris got the 2.1 update the other day. Since then she cannot setup her speed dials. It goes through like it works, but there are still no speed dials in the list. I cleared cache and data from Dialer and the two People apps in the manager, but it hasn't resolved it. VZW support last night had me do a battery pull, but that also didn't help.
So other than the Factory Reset option, is there anything I can do? Are there any apps specific to Speed Dials? I'd like to avoid the reset at all costs, if possible.
Under Settings -> Date and Time, whenever I set a Date to a future or past number, it gets overridden by the Network/WiFi. I've made sure that I've unchecked the Automatic option. Anyone have any ideas why this is?
When I turn off my Network(3G) and WiFi, I'm able to set the Date to whatever I want without it getting reset like 2 seconds later.
Is this possible?

On my secondary gmail account (not the one the Eris is set up with, but another one that I set up in K9) the font size in the message is so tiny I can't see it. I've searched the options over and over to find a setting to increase the font size, but apparently I can't find it. Would any of you happen to know where it is?
View 12 Replies View RelatedDoes everyone keep their screen brightness on auto or do you set it manually. I notice when it's on auto, sometimes the screen doesn't light up all the way. Will setting it manually drain the battery quicker? I notice in my battery usage that it says display is at like 74%. Not sure if that's normal or not. I have the brightness set at about 1/4 of the way up.

I went through the Wireless network Setup and I even went through Network Setup Wizard and Network Connections and still haven't been able to figure out how to actually initiate wireless tetherthing through wi-fi. I'm sure that it's something bonehead that I haven't considered. The only time I've set up networks is with the help of ISP tech support or the ISP setup CD.

When I open SDK manager it open the repository list that are needed to download lije Android4.O files, Google APIs ,System image etc. Though I was on slow internet connection. I read a tutorial to download google api and sysimg separately by copying the link from xml file. but now I dont know where I have to put these files in the main folders.
