Just wondering what browser you guys are all using. I just rooted yesterday and have tried both chaosfroyo and xtrsense, but my browser is always zoomed way out. Is there a setting to fix this or possibly a better browser to istall?

I set Dolphin as my default browser. If I use the Google search widget, it opens up the stock browser, then if I click a link, it opens the link in Dolphin. How can I make the search default to Dolphin? What is the pay version of Dolphin and is it worth it?

View 7 Replies View RelatedA while ago I found a tip somewhere on how to get to some additional hidden android browser settings including how to change the user agent string so that the browser would identify itself as a desktop browser or iPhone browser while surfing. This setting is reset between sessions, I didn't use it frequently and eventually forgot how to go about making the change. Recently I had a need to access these hidden browser settings again and it took quite a long and frustrating search effort to finally locate this information which does not seem to be widely publicized. So, in an effort to save anyone else this trouble, I figured I would post the information on how to do this on a couple Android boards that I frequent and also include a few words that might be picked up as search terms for anyone else trying to find this info. The procedure is very simple. I currently have an HTC Sprint Hero running Android 1.5, so I'm not sure what other devices or builds this will work on..
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to replace the Browser.apk with a different browser..I read up and people said just rename the new browser to browser.apk and replace it in system/app I removed the stock browser and replaced it and there's no force closes or anything just the new browser don't work..I tried replacing it with chrome btw
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been using the last 4 versions of the KaosFroyo ROM and it has always done my phone some good. The only complaint is that the browser just runs so slow. The pinch zoom is slow and sometimes lags. Even typing in the browser is slow. Everything else runs fairly snappy which is why I continue to use this particular ROM. But the browsing part leaves much to be desired. anyone else? suggestions. I have wiped the correct way and have done reboots. But this problem seems to stick.

For the past few days, when I try to open a browser, it closes. I was using Dolphin HD, thought it was a bug with that app, so downloaded regular Dolphin. Same deal, so tried Skyfox then Opera and the stock browser. They all keep closing.
Is there anything I can do or should I just call it quits and get the Incredible?
When using the stock browser, I am able to go to and see actual websites whereas using the dolphin browser, entering the same web addresses leads me to the mobile version of the website. I rather the actual website. I tried looking under the settings of the dolphin browser for a fix but to no avail...

I have the stock browser cache set to the 6mb max that the app settings allows--but it sometimes ends up larger than that when I go to clear it in the Application settings. How is that so? Also, how exactly does the cache work? Does it store visited pages then keep adding to it until it's at the max storage? Do older cached pages get bumped for newer ones? Does the browser get sluggish if the cache is full? (I haven't noticed any issues myself.) Finally, if I set the max cache setting for less than the 6mb cap, (say, 3mb), will that make the browser less efficient at loading pages? I'm curious since the stock browser doesn't use SD card for storage and cuts into the main phone memory.

Why doesn't Opera Mini 5 get some love? Could it just have something to do with the cache? Maybe the more and more I go into the website, the faster it should load?

I use it primarily for a forum such as this and it freezes up all the time. I've tried clearing the cache and cookies and nothing seems to help. Not sure if I should go with another browser but I downloaded the dolphin one and that did the same thing. Anyone have a clue? Im not pc smart so please talk "dumb" to me if you have any clues!

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy stock browser used to crash immediately upon launch, no matter where it was being launched from. So I always have to start the browser twice.
But I recently rooted and went with xtrSense. At first it all seemed smoother, but after a few days, it's back to crashing on launch again. Once I re-launch, it seems to work fine, but this is still a hassle.
Thought rooting would b my magic "fix-all".
