My phone is still trying to send an email and keeps giving me an error that the account setting is incorrect. I've tried everything and took everyone's suggestions. I'm trying to avoid a resetting the phone.

Never had problem before, and not sure what happened. Today, I tried to send a phone pic via email, and came up with this error message on Notification Panel:
"Unable to send mail."
"The account setting is incorrect (Yahoo)."
I press on the actual Notification, and it automatically prompts me to change account settings.
Edit Account
myname@yahoo.com
Hit Next.
Incoming Settings
Protocol > IMAP
Email address > myname@yahoo.com
Password > *******
IMAP server > android.imap.mail.yahoo.com
Security type > SSL
Server Port > 993
Above is my current settings, but I did not change anything.
I re-entered my yahoo password to see if that's problem, and now get a warning message saying, "Authentication failed. Please verify username/password" but that's my correct username and password for Yahoo.
I can receive emails on all my different accounts but can't send out any email. It says "Unable to send mail. The account setting is incorrect."
View 3 Replies View RelatedYesterday I tried to send a couple short videos to a friend, one only 17secs, the other 1min 27 secs, of course he has a Iphone so this made me even more frustrated. First I tried to send them individually via mms, no go. Then I tried to send them in via email, first together then individually, again no good. I kept getting a error message saying that my account setting is incorrect. What is the deal. I've been hyping my DROID to everyone saying that the IFAD is not as good, starting to wonder.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm wanting to set up another email account and when I select the new account button on the setup account screen, it takes me to a screen with a "Motorola service agreement" and I have to agree with the terms and conditions before continuing. Is this correct? Do all email accounts go through a Motorola server? The same thing happens with setting up Facebook, MySpace and other services.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had my Ally for about a week now, and I'm absolutely loving it! I previously had the enV 2 from LG, so there is a lot of familiarity there. One thing I have not yet been able to figure out is how to create a signature for my email. I have the default g mail acct (I created one specifically for the phone), but I also added a hot mail acct and a private domain web acct. On my enV 2 I was able to figure out how to set up the signature for that typical "Sent from my Verizon Wireless Phone" at the bottom. I would like to do the same for the additional email accounts but can't find a setting for it. does it just not exist, or am i looking in the wrong place?

How do I create additional folders? Also, how do I get all my emails in my inbox to display?? I am only seeing the recent emails, or the ones that were just received. I need to be able to see the emails from earlier today, yesterday, last week, etc..... How do I do this? Can emails be stored to the card? Can we change the text setting from an html format to just a standard text format? Where can I find a the complete instructions on the email app?
I am trying to set up a Pop account on my Inc. but it fails every time. I used the same settings on a Moto Droid and it worked. The Verizon rep tested it on his phones and it also worked on the Moto Droid but not his Incredible. Spent an hour on the phone with HTC and their only answer is a hard reset - which is bullshit because it doesn't work on 2 different incredibles.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been playing with the K9 Email app as a replacement for the stock program. I rather like it, but there is a deal breaker. On my secondary gmail account (not the one the Eris is set up with, but another one that I set up in K9) the font size in the message is so tiny I can't see it. I've searched the options over and over to find a setting to increase the font size, but apparently I can't find it. Would any of you happen to know where it is?

If I have secondary emails on my account it will not allow response as them. 2- unlike the gmail web client, I can't select what secondary account to respond with. 3 - I am unable to add secondary email account to my android phone. requires authentication using primary and It only adds them as the primary. Google really dropped the ball big on this and from what I've heard, Froyo nor the new Android gmail client (which I'd rather not use since I also have non gmail account for work) did not address this either. I figure it' s either a huge technical obstacle (which I doubt), or not much testing went into the email application.

I know I can set up the Eris to poll foor hotmail but I have a question.Will email run smoother if I just forward my hotmail account to my Gmail? And if I set up my gmail through the internet UI to "Reply As" my hotmail account, will it also set that as my reply as when I reply via my Eris?

If I click on it, it takes me to the edit email account screen. When I go through the steps it says authentication failed even though my gmail account is fine. I don't know how to fix this. My return date is coming up (extended holiday return period) and I wanted to see if anyone else was having this problem or if it was in fact my phone and I should swap it out. My phone is placing my location in places I haven't traveled to or haven't been to in a long time. It is usually placing me ~200-300 miles away from my current location. I'm in Dallas, TX. Occasionally I'll unlock my phone and the HTC weather widget will say I'm in Dustin, Houston, San Antonio, and even once in Florida. Now, I can go into Google maps and let it find my location and it is very accurate. If I give it time the weather app will correct itself, but then later when I unlock my phone it will have done it again. I've tried using the weather channel app and widget and a few others. They are all having the same problem as they pull the same GPS data. Is this a problem with my GPS chip? I've done a bunch of soft resets, pulled the battery while the phone was off and let it sit for a few, pulled the battery while the phone was on and let it sit. Nothing seems to be helping. I just turned my phone off and back on and sure enough it reports I'm in san Antonio.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI first noticed a problem when trying to launch the Weather app on my 2.1 equipped Droid Eris. Had it for about a week now. The app crashes every time. Things I have tried:
- hard reset of the phone
- remove battery
- reset Sense to defaults
- cleared application data/cache from weather apps
I was going to try this last one again when I noticed something very very weird. When I got to Manage Applications, and click on "Weather" it actually takes me to the application info for Quickoffice! It now seems like all the weather apps (and some others) are messed up. If I click on "HTC Weather Wallpaper" it takes me to application info for Visual Voicemail. " HTC Weather sync provider" gives me app info for Clock Widget. If I click on Clock Widget, I get info for Mabilo Wallpapers (app from store). What the heck is goin on here....
Any suggestions on what to try? I have searched Google and the various forums extensively and cant find any instances of other people having this issue.
I bought my Hero two months back and setup corporate email on it and was working good, recently I reset to factory settings thereafter I couln't setup my email(Microsoft Exchange). The message pops up is user name and password incorrect but I have confirmed with IT Dept there is no changes at all I am able to use on my laptop, any solution?

Suddenly one of my email accounts decided that it had the wrong password (a University email address); I tried deleting the address and re-adding but now it won't let me add it as it says that the address or password is incorrect.
As i know the password is right and really need this email address to work!

I picked up my Droid at the Verizon store and the clerk set up my email incorrectly. I set up another email account correctly and now would like to erase the one they set up. But I can't see how to do it. Does anyone have any tips.
