Jul 28, 2010I just flashed the latest version of White Widow.When I bring up the dialer and start to dial by name (i.e. 5 - 6 - 3 for JOE), the dialer does not bring up matching names. Is this a sense thing?

Nov 12, 2010Ok so Iv'e tried and tried and tried and tried to get the transparent theme with metamorph and i just cant do it. I can get some themes to work and the others not so much. So i went exactly by the directions and I still cant do it! Is there a way i could have it in a zip and just flash it like the others do for themes? Please help, im a huge WW fan and love this theme!

May 26, 2010I just upgraded to White Widow 3.1, and I love it except for some of the stock HTC stuff I really liked like the keyboard, dialer, and camera (the droid one sucks imo). I followed the proper steps for the keyboard (put it in the system/app folder) and it works perfectly. No such luck for the camera, and dialer. Does anyone know why? Are there any OTHER HTC apps I can use, or how to put these ones on there?

Jul 27, 2010I'm running White Widow 4.6 with Google Apps installed and JIT on. Not all of my FB contacts are syncing with my phone contacts. For example, my sister is not linked to any FB profile when she should be. The names match up. Most of the people are, but some aren't. I can't find a way to link it manually to her FB profile. All of my contacts sync'd fine with the stock OS. Anybody else have this issue? Do you have a solution? I had the same problem in KaosFroyo v23 and never found a solution.

Iīve added those spinners to my layout without editing most of itīs properties and this way it works for most of my users. Unfortunately most isnīt all and then some of them started complaining that the list of options is showing text in white with over a white background! Jan 29, 2010Verizon just sent me my new Eris after mine decided to stop connecting to google. Maybe I never noticed this before, or maybe it is a defect. But, if you go to an all white screen, do you see black pixels spread out evenly like a grid on your screen?

Jan 30, 2010I have had my Eris for maybe 3 or 4 days and I absolutely love it. I have to thank all of you for the useful tips and tricks I have been reading.
I haven't had a problem until tonight.
I was using the stock browser on MySpace, finished what I was doing, logged out and used the back key to get back to the home screen, which I always do. I could never get back to the home screen, the farthest back it would take me was to the original MySpace login screen and I had to hit the home key to get back to the home screen.
When I now try to open the browser, it acts like it is loading, I see the status bar, which loads all the way, but other than that, the screen is completely white and stays that way - the whole screen is white and never does anything.
Could this have been caused by MySpace or maybe a browser issue that happened to occur while I was on MySpace?
I have cleared cache, cleared all data, rebooted a few times, force stopped it, killed it with advanced task manager and everything else I could think of.

Oct 6, 2010I am currently on my second Eris and I am having problems with my trackball not responding and something screwy with my camera not saving my pictures.
Right now I would rather pay to downgrade to another phone like a BB or even pay full retail value for a completely different Droid because I am afraid if they send me another Eris it is just going to break again.
If I call VZW and talk to them, will they send me another Eris that will most likely to break or will they send me a D1 or an Incredible?
I love my Eris but i just can't use it anymore and i feel like i will keep having problems if they keep sending me refurbs.

Aug 5, 2010My eris is on the way to my house and I should get it in a few days. Im going to root it. I got this phone for work to replace my blackberry that sucks and dont have a camera. Worst case I will remove the camera or drill it out.Before I would do that though I was wondering if I could actually remove a system app such as the camera and video camera. What would be best is if there was a way to disable the driver for the camera so it wouldnt even work with other apps like bar code scanner ect. The reason I want to do it this way is because it would be reversible in the future if I wanted to sale the phone, but wouldnt be something they would consider reversible at work.Basically if I give the phone to safety/security and they cant get it to take a picture in 10 mins or so it will pass the test.
does anyone have any insite on what would need done? Would it be like removing a system app? would the kernel or radio need altered? If I decided which rom I wanted to use could someone (or even the dev that made the rom) remove the camera?I really dont want it to work for any apps like goggles or any of the aftermarket camera apps on the market because if security decided to download a camera app on the market and try it out.

There is a CELB 1.9 rom (aka erislightning bolt froyo) that has WORKING cam...the gallery still goes funky when you try to view sideways but the cam DOES indeed have a working preview!

Feb 20, 2010My phones camera had worked the other day. I'd messed with the settings and turned it to have a negative effect. Nothing wrong there.So, I went to go use the camera last night -both the camcorder and the normal camera- and... All I got was a black screen. I couldn't bring up a menu or anything. It was just black. The only way to do anything was to close it out by going back to the home screen. Any ideas?

Jul 6, 2010I've noticed that for the past few days I have been experiencing lower than normal battery performance with my Eris. I checked the battery sonsumption and it says that it is the camera that is doing it. OK. So I force kill everything (reinstalled a task killer) and opened the camera and closed it again. I always exit an app with the back button, not the home button. Still the problem persists. I noticed that while it was charging last night that the camera was using 100% of my battery. So my conclusion is that whenever I charge my Eris the camera runs in the background even after I take it off of the charger. Is anyone having this problem?

Jun 24, 2010While messing around earlier, i figured a few things out. its always bugged me that the Eris didnt have a dedicated Camera button. So i decided to just remap the Search softkey-i rarely use it anyways.
flash from recovery, it works on any rom.
This makes a long press on the Search softkey pull up the Camera. and yes...you can remap other keys to do other things too, but this is just the only one i thought was needed.

Apr 9, 2010I just installed Astro File Manager, and I can't find where the Eris stores photos taken with the camera. I have a folder called 'Photos' on my SD card, but that only has photos I copied to it from my PC. (so I could use them as wallpaper). When I use the Albums app, it lets me choose the Photos folder on my SD card, or a folder called 'Camera shots' with 29 photos in it (that I took with the Eris camera), but I don't see that folder anywhere with Astro , even when trying a file search.

May 22, 2010I have been trying to deal with the blurry images from the Eris's camera but enough is enough. Unless my subject is completely still for 10 seconds, my picture is looks blurry. Does anyone have this problem? Could I fix it in settings? I am currently using the 5 meg pixel setting.
