I have been trying to deal with the blurry images from the Eris's camera but enough is enough. Unless my subject is completely still for 10 seconds, my picture is looks blurry. Does anyone have this problem? Could I fix it in settings? I am currently using the 5 meg pixel setting.

My camera used to work perfectly. My pics were amazing, and it was just amazing. The focus was never off. Clear, crisp, sharp images. Now, out of nowhere it seems, the camera won't focus. My images are EXTREMELY blurry. It's terrible. Even when I'm just setting up to take the pic, the image looks blurry on the screen. It's bad enough that I can no longer even get the barcode scanner to work. I'm assuming that something wrong with my lens and not anything to do with software etc. And yes, I've cleaned it. And cleaned it. And cleaned it to no avail.

Whenever I take pictures using the stock camera,the focus is fine but when i see the picture it always comes blurry.
D1, running lithium mod I noticed that the camera images are really blurry when taking pics further than maybe a foot away. I flashed back to BB 0.4 and still have a problem. Anyone know what's going on, which ROM I should use and if there is a fix?
View 19 Replies View RelatedI have had nothing but great success with the leaked Froyo that I've been running since Saturday afternoon. Battery life seems to be improved, haven't noticed any FC's, etc... until today. I know that the Droid has had some camera issues namely the 24.5 auto focus bug and the auto focus hardware becomes faulty but this is new to me. I didn't have this problem with 2.0.1, stock 2.1, rooted 2.1, Pete's BB, Fab's NexBeast. There have been numerous kernels on the phone as well and going back through my gallery nothing was blurry. I have wiped the lens, made sure the camera app is on auto-focus, I've clicked the button once, twice, halfway, a dozen times, etc and I've even tried FXCamera - if the subject is more than 6" away it is blurry. I'm running the 1.0 P3 kernel but 1.1 & 1.2 have given me the same issue. I've tried this at 1Ghz, 800, 600 & 400Mhz. I know this is pre-release but is anyone else having the same issue?

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor some reason on the main screen on my new htc desire hd the shortcut images of my contacts seem to be very blurry and hard to make out. Is there a setting to make it more clear, also my contacts list the pics down the side are blurry to. I am sure it was clearer on my other htc I had. Also when I scroll up and down on the main screen the icons seem to very slightly flicker
is this normal?
I have been developing on a ADP2 (Google Ion) with a "standard" screen size (with a resolution of 320x480)... Our designer made some pretty neat Images with which to create the GUI, and when placing everything within the layout XML files it looks pretty good... That is, on the Eclipse renderer, the one who shows you how it will look like on the device... Thus not the emulator itself... Unfortunately when run on the real device the supercrisp and beatifull images become blurry and unsharp... I actually do'nt see why this should happen ? Everything has been designed whilst keeping the target devices resolution into account... Is this because most probably the dpi of the screen on which the Images were (big 24 inch screen) is different that the devices? And if so how can this be corrected (maybe within the designers application as well, I think he uses Photoshop).

Have turned phone on and off, removed widget and put it back, looked in settings for some settings for pictures, nada, that I can find.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust bought a Galaxy S3 from Cricket Wireless and everything works perfectly fine but when I go to use the camera the pictures are blurry and when I take a picture of a object that close like 3-4 inch away the picture is clear but if I want to take a picture of something else like a potrait or somthing mid range to far the picture is blurry like it doesn't want to focus. I tap the screen to try and focuses it and nothing happens.

Recently I did a bunch of updates and started using google now. My phone performance has been significantly degraded as a result.
My most pressing issue is that after taking a photo, when I go to view it, it shows as normal brightness for 1 second and then gets very dark. This happens for every image as I scroll through them individually. It appears that I now have some sort of editing option or maybe google photos or picassa has hijacked my viewer. When I click on the gallery app this dimming issue does no occur. I am unable to view photos from the camera after taking them.
Since I loaded the OTA update on my Eris I've had pretty much all the known issues, including silent bug. I did a hard reset this morning (knowing well from too much reading that I'll probably still need a new handset because it won't fix the silent bug) but I totally thought it would fix the issue of my contact id photos appearing super grainy when I make or receive a call. Minor issue, yes. But totally annoying when this didn't happen EVER before the update. Anyone know a fix? I couldn't find any answers by searching. Most of my contact pictures are from Facebook.

One of the many things that dont make much sense to me on this phone. I have 2 ways to get email. The native email app retrieves gmail normally and thats where there is no image. There is another mail icon for just mail and thats used to set up exchange or another pop3 account. well i wanted to try the mail HTC widget and in order for me to do that I had to set up pop3 to retrieve gmail. So now i have 2 apps retrieving gmail. i sent myself an email from a different email to test and it was all text, no box with ?'s or nothing. I hit menu then more then settings. in send and recieve there is an option for max size limit. by default mine was set as 5kb (text only) i changed it to no limit. resent the email and when i opened it there were the ?'s again but there was also a show HTML images and once i clicked it I had imbedded images, but only using the Mail icon not the gmail envelope still. think i might disable notifications for the gmail one and use the one that works.
Trying to get to the bottom of Android bug 2507, wherein I can only see boxes with blue question marks in lieu of embedded images in the native Gmail app (after hitting the "show pictures" button).
I was able to see the images in Android 1.5, but can't now in Android 2.1.I can still see attached images, just not those embedded in the body, like an HTML newsletter from Best Buy or whatever.

Is it possible to get a list/cursor of all images taken by the camera? I would like to somehow be notified when the camera takes a picture, ie when the database of images changes. Currently I can use a contentobserver with the MediaStore.Images.Media.External_Content_URI, but that fires off a notification if any photo is added to the SD (ie a photo is download, another app adds one...)...is there any way to do this?

I was trying to send the pic in a "text" msg....I think??? I have NO idea what SMS means or MMS means. All I know is I hit share & then message. Also, is there a way to shrink images or format a pic to send?

I saw a TV commercial with an android phone (not sure which carrier) but as the person scrolled thru the 7 screens, there was a different background image/wallpaper on each of them. It definitely was HTC Sense UI that I saw in the commercial.
If not, is there an app that can do this?
I am currently on my second Eris and I am having problems with my trackball not responding and something screwy with my camera not saving my pictures.
Right now I would rather pay to downgrade to another phone like a BB or even pay full retail value for a completely different Droid because I am afraid if they send me another Eris it is just going to break again.
If I call VZW and talk to them, will they send me another Eris that will most likely to break or will they send me a D1 or an Incredible?
I love my Eris but i just can't use it anymore and i feel like i will keep having problems if they keep sending me refurbs.
I'm not really feeling the love for the quality of the images the Desire produces, mainly due to blue cast each image seems to have. If i want to keep an image i find I have to colour correct it with Photoshop which i hope you can appreciate is kind of annoying! Also, and this doesn't happen all the time but the screen sometimes splits in two/three when taking a photo which again is bloody annoying. Is this a known issue is there a software fix or do i have a duff unit and need to speak to HTC to repair under warranty.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm just looking for some insight into what would be the best way for me to store images as part of my app. I have an activity that represents a 'Job' which has a couple of edittext's and underneath was planning on using the Gallery component to show images relevant to this job. The job data is stored in a database (on the sdcard) so was also thinking of creating a table to store 'JobImages' and having each image stored as a byte array.
But I'm not sure if it would be better to store the images directly on sdcard under a folder structure specific to my application and the job. E.g. using the job ID number as a folder name. Depending on which method I use will greatly determine the code that goes into an 'adapter' that allows me to bind to the gallery component so before I begin I was wondering if anyone has had the same design problem and what option they chose.
I took this through my telescope with the Incredible's camera. One of the good things about the tiny cameras in phones is that they can see through the eyepiece of my telescope. Don't expect to try this and get it perfect the first time. The Saturn picture took about 30 tries and lots of fiddling with the settings to get just right
