Android :: New Icon Appeared On Task Bar?
May 2, 2010It's on the task bar right next to the sync icon, it's the shape of a cell phone. It wasn't there the past couple of days until this morning, weird.

Jul 6, 2012On my Samsung Galaxy S3, a peculiar icon has appeared in the navigation bar (see the top-left corner in the image below):
It seemed to have appeared at about the time I put in my SD card, but removing my SD card (and restarting) has not shooed the icon away. Furthermore, the icon seems to prevent any other icons being shown (i.e. I am forced to pull down the bar when checking for new notifications).
There is no explanation for the icon in the notification window, and clearing the notifications does nothing.
I tried using Google Goggles on a cropped screenshot of the icon but no images were returned. what the icon represents and how it may be removed?

Aug 25, 2012I'm writing an android program for adding task and deleting task in listview. I've add an onClickListener to the delete button so it can delete the task. However I was told I should not have the listener in the adapter violating mvc. how I can remove a task in my TaskListItem class. I got the method removeTask() in the adapter, but don't how I can use it in the TaskListItem class.

Aug 29, 2010Okay, so I originally noticed that 2.2 now had a feature that allows you to assign a noise when locking/ unlocked your screen when I force updated my original Droid 1. When it came time to get the Droid 2 I went into settings and made sure that the option was still there and it was. So I set it and locked the screen, didn't hear a thing. Unlocked the screen and still didn't hear anything. Put the phone up to my ear and locked, and there was the ever so slightest clicking noise that was almost non existent (that's how low it was). So I instantly made sure that all volumes were set to high and they were. At that point I figured that's just how it was, and there was no changing it. I was kinda upset.And then today came!!! Out of nowhere, the phone now makes a nice and loud lock and unlock sound. It's so random, I don't understand why it would change its mind out of nowhere.

Oct 11, 2010I recently dropped my evo for the 2nd time. 1st time no noticeable damage. 2nd time (it has a Seido Inocase II) at the bottom of the screen a large ironic smile appeared all in green and black dead pixels. I have insurance, but its pretty pricy to replace this right now I also noticed 2 weeks into this phone (which is a replacement for my first 30 day phone) that I have dust under the screen (same reason I replaced the first at RadioShack) in the top left corner. Do I have grounds for a manufacturing defect from HTC? Or am I completely boned into paying the 100? Please anyone with insurance and/or HTC defect experience let me know!

General :: Vertical Green Line Appeared On Screen
Feb 25, 2014This problem happened few hours before i rooted my pad. Well the problem is a vertical green line that appeared in my screen and dont go off. I tried to use stuck pixel solutions and a factory reset (I didn't tried to put back in stock rom, I don't know how to do that).
The line is very perceptive on a pink background, but completely hide by a green background.

Is This a lcd problem for sure or a sofware problem? If it is a hardware problem, can i ask for a replacement from asus? For get a replacement, need i to put back in stock firmware or just a factory reset is enough?

Sprint HTC Hero :: Task Panel X - Advanced Task Manager - Causing Errors
Nov 7, 2009I've been using Task Panel X and Advanced Task manager to kill unneeded tasks and keep memory at a maximum.
Recently, every time I open Task Panel X and then revert back to Home screen I get the HTC logo and then a loading screen while the device sets itself. This happens even if I kill NO tasks.
So my solution was to uninstall Task Panel X and then use just Advanced Task Manager. All the sudden, same result.
Everytime I open either of these apps and then go back to home screen I get a BLACK SCREEN WITH HTC LOGO, THEN A BRIEF (10 SECONDS) LOADING SCREEN. THEN ALL IS NORMAL.
Samsung Captivate :: Unknown Numbers Appeared In Contacts List
Aug 21, 2010Dozens of unknown names and numbers have appeared in my Samsung Captivate's contacts list. The numbers appear to have area codes from my state but with names like Joe Blow Repairman, they must be a fake. My contacts list is sync'ed with Google Gmail but I don't see these numbers on my contacts list when I log into Gmail. Is this a known virus from an App I installed? What should I do?

Oct 15, 2009Looking for a guide on how to use task killer. I had task killer on and deleted it. I think I was killing tasks that were needed to keep certain functions running that I use frequently. If someone would take the time to help me understand how to use one, I think I would be much more successful with it.
example - text messaging just stopped ( werrent receiving them ) . Once I took task killer off, everything started working again.
HTC Hero :: Zoom Function Appeared On Left Hand Edge Of Camera Display
Feb 18, 2010I have just updated my hero phone and I was surprised it worked ok, normally things for me go wrong. However before when using the camera the zoom bar appeared on the left hand edge of the camera display and I could zoom using the trackball.
Now it has an icon on the left to go to my albums and no zoom scale. I can select it from the menu but again I cant zoom using the trackball. Anyone know how to get this back if possible?

Oct 31, 2009So last night I was riding in the car using my hero. All of a sudden 2 lines appeared across the screen horizontally about 1" up from bottom. Can't fix it. Tried a hard reset to factory and still there. Any suggestions? I am traveling in Chicago today so will find a sprint store for exchange. I have TEP. But at 2 days old should it just be swapped for a new one and not affect TEP?

Jan 21, 2014It is my first time to run cyanogenmod on my phone. I have the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit 2 4G and I tried to install the CM 11 of jfbs. I did all the backups and I wiped the data and cache and installed the ROM and Gapps. But I rebooted my device and the Cyanogenmod logo appeared with the spinning arrow and it didn't want to stop spinning (or loading if you want). My phone was stuck on logo and the spinning arrow. I forced the phone to turn off and when I rebooted it I worked but after a little time it went back to the logo and the spinning arrow. I re-installed the ROM and Gapps but like before, the logo and the spinning arrow still there until now and it won't even stop and lead me to the lock screen.

It has a simple UI, and the when you select or unselect apps it remebers it so next time you launch the app you can only remove the apps that you usually do, and keep ones that always run. It doesn't slow down or break the system.

Well i installed pandora and have pandora one, i've also bluetooth'd it to my car stereo on the way home yesterday.Well tonite i was messing around it some more and noticed there are about 8 songs that i didn't download or transfer in the HTC Music player, they are songs/artist that i've possibly listen to in pandora. I'm not sure if pandora downloads songs and the htc player picked found them. So i tried to play a couple songs, skip a few and nothing new appeared in the htc player.
