HTC Eris :: MMS Pictures Not Downloading

I did a forum search and saw this question asked but didn't see any answers so I'm posting this again hoping someone can help with this most frustrating problem I'm having with MMS. At least 60% of the time when someone sends me a picture message I will get the option to download the picture. When I click "download" the box turns to grey text that says "downloading" but it never downloads, just goes back to the download button. Sometimes I will get a message in my notifications panel saying "Message not downloaded". This happens in both the stock messages program as well as Handcent. Does anyone else have this problem and a suggestion on how to fix it? This is a huge issue for me.

Whenever I try to download pictures there are a ton of other pics that look like bookmarks or screen shots of web pages I have gone to. How do I stop this from happening? These nonsense pics also have to be taking up space on my phone as well. Is there a way to make the phone stop saving these?

When I first installed Handcent, whenever someone sent me a pic it just popped right up on my screen. No action needed on my part to open a file or anything.
About 2 days ago it started sending these "Download" boxes instead. I press the box that is in the txt msg and it reads "downloading".
Two Questions:
1. Where do those pix download to?
2. Sometimes it says "unable to download"..... now what?! It doesn't tell me why it cannot download the pic.

earlier today I viewed a friend s picture and suddenly in the top 5th of the screen three icons popped up.One - sharing, one to use the picture as a wallpaper and something else which I think was assigning to a contact . Now, I can not for the life of me re create this no matter how much I tap, touch, shake or stirr.

I own a T-Mobile Comet and have been able to download the iPhone MMS messages and send pictures before. I have owned this phone for roughly a year, and starting a couple weeks ago I have been unable to receive the MMS messages or send my pictures, I use Handcent. What happens when I get the message- It says Subject:no subject 1 KB and has a download button, after I press it all that happens is it says "Downloading" for hours on end and never actually does. When I send pictures the send spiral just spins endlessly and it doesn't send. My mobile data is on, my WiFi is off and I'm not sure what else I need to do.

I am not sure if there is a hidden setting somewhere that has been reset or this is a flaw with Evil Eris, but whenever it synches with Exchange 2003 it only downloads 100 emails and stops and says 100/179 and is not showing any emails from the past three days.
Also, a few days ago, it got a synch error and said it was out of disk space and I checked my SD card and saw it was very low so I deleted a bunch of MP3s and freed up 6.5 gigs of space but it still doesn't work.
Are the emails actually saved on the SD card or on the phone? When I have the USB plugged in can I browse to their location?
My send/receive setting are:
Mail size: Entire mail
Download frequency: Every 5 mins
Download past mail: 14 days
Include file attachment: Smaller than 2MB
Reply with original text: Checked
Always BCC me: Unchecked
This is my work email and it's critical that it operates properly when I am on call.

I am currently on my second Eris and I am having problems with my trackball not responding and something screwy with my camera not saving my pictures.
Right now I would rather pay to downgrade to another phone like a BB or even pay full retail value for a completely different Droid because I am afraid if they send me another Eris it is just going to break again.
If I call VZW and talk to them, will they send me another Eris that will most likely to break or will they send me a D1 or an Incredible?
I love my Eris but i just can't use it anymore and i feel like i will keep having problems if they keep sending me refurbs.

Whenever I download a pic off internet or from a background app it says it downloaded to as card but I cant find it in any of my folders. Also is there any way to access your card from the phone?

My HTC Eris stops receiving mms messages after about 5 weeks and sometimes sms messages dont come thru either. This is the second time this has happened. Often im not even alerted that a message tried to be received. Other times i get this generic message as an incoming message that says who its from, the message size (which always states 30kb), and expires (5 days from the current date). It also shows a gray box that you can touch to download but it tries and then sends a message to the bottom of the phone that says "download of message unsuccessful." Occasionally when a new pic message tries to come thru, it forces an old unsuccessful picture message thru. Verizon has no answer or resolution nor does HTC. I have tried using the other message programs and they dont work either.

What kind of download speed should I expect with my Droid ERIS? Using my 802.11g wireless router I get around 2mb/sec according to spreedtest.net. I get around 1mb/sec using 3G. My laptop gets around 15mb/s over my 802.11g network. I'm guessing that the difference might be because my laptop has 4gb ram and a dual core and the ERIS doesn't.

I set my gmail account with the email icon/app on my home screen.I did it with the POP/IMPAP option because the other one wouldn't work (don't know what either of those mean).My problem is I can't get it to download my emails by itself. I have to go in and refresh. I have set it to check every 5mins and to alert me but it just wont unless I refresh. I'm assuming there's somthing I'm missing.Also, I just discovered there's a gmail app in that list that gets the emails instantly. It will make a sound with a new email, but I have to go to that list then to the gmail app to check.What I want is to be notified of my emails and have some icon be it the email one or the gmail one on my home page that lets me know I have an email.The other thing is the youtube app, but its seems lots of people are having that trouble.Also, how do I sync access my gmail contacts on my phone on either the gmail app or the email app. I can't see contacts on either right now.

I've got some photos stuck in an MMS that I tried to download before I realised that I didnt have the correct MMS APN settings in (due to swapping to the Modaco ROM). The correct settings are now in but the MMS is stuck at "downloading" status. Is there any way I can rescue it, there is no forward option and I've successfully sent and recieved MMS since.

I would like to be able to hide certain pictures from my friends when they are playing with my phone. I don't want to install an application for this. Awhile back, I remember reading in a thread (could not find it in the search) that one could change the name of the file a certain way and it would not show up. Ring a bell to anyone?

It would seem that all my pictures have decided to hide from me. Earlier I booted into recovery to make a nand backup and now, my photo app says that it cannot find any photos or videos. I know that they are there because I can go into eStrong and they are sitting there clear as day. So my question is how can they be there yet not be there?

Usually when I want to upload pictures to my computer I hook up my phone via USB cord and transfer them, that way I can edit them and what not. Lately though, every time I try to go into my "DCIM" folder (aka Camera Pictures) to transfer them my Windows Explorer freezes up and I basically can't do anything to transfer my pictures. I have dropped my phone in water but this was a few months ago and every thing else has seemed fine so far. Could it possibly be the SD card?

Was wondering if there was a way to change the way the camera names a picture. Me and my g/f merge our pictures every now and then so we both have all the pictures of our son to look at whenever { he's pretty much awesome } and so we always get the 'do you want to overwrite' prompts.

I have an Eris. My friend has an Eris. His contacts have automatically d/l the Facebook pics from the corresponding contacts in his phone. Mine have not. I have to do it manually, which is becoming old. I set F/B to do it (I think) when I first got my phone.

I guess I will give the background. I had over 100 pictures stored on my sd card, and i last looked at them yesterday. Today I opened my File manager, and it had expired, so I dl'ed Astro. When I went into Astro and clicked on my DCIM there was nothing inside which I thought was weird. So I went to my Albums and sure enough, It cant find any photos or videos. I took a camera shot, and it saved it to the sd card and I was able to look at it. I unmounted and removed the sd card (also rebooted phone) hoping it might jump start the card or something. When I put the card back in the phone, it had erased the one picture I just took and saved. I was wondering if anyone else had this happen to them? Is a bad sd card most likely the case?

I'm having a problem finding picutres or wallpapers saved to my sd card on my eris. I have Astro File and I just bought a wallpaper from Verizon and it says it's saved to my sd card yet I can't find it anywhere. I checked my photos, and all the folders in astro. Any clue on what I'm doing wrong or where else it could be?
