I am running plainJane and want to change my font by flashing .zip on recovery. Can some one either point me to a list of fonts or post a list that I can download straight from my phone?

Does your HTC Desire need to be rooted so you can change the system font? For example the font below icons? I've had a look through these forums and not seen an answer to this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been messing around with metamorph, and thank the members here for pointing me in the right direction to find the themes I am currently running the I.C.E. theme by tdawg. Everything applied correctly on top of Sholes 2.0.5, without messing up any performance tweaks. Only thing that did NOT apply(no surprise) is the font in the screenshots. I'd like to have this font- it is the same in the Droidinator theme and a few others I have seen screenshots of. So my question is.. where to I find this font, and how do I apply it(Hopefully through a terminal emulator since that is all I have set up so far)?

I have a rooted 2.1 eris and adb is all set up. I get all the way down to the commands and the last one:
adb shell flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
says file not found. What am I doing wrong
I've got the rooted 2.1, easy. I've got all the java and adk and what not I got the flash_image and recovery.img. The command prompts all work fine till the last command, (I've tried 2 different chain of commands both work until a certain point).
adb shell mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
adb push recovery.img /sdcard
adb push flash_image /system/bin
adb shell chmod 755 /system/bin/flash_image
adb shell flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
(After this one it says it cannot find flash recovery or image, cant exactly remember.)
- Open the Terminal and copy and paste the following commands with the phone connected to your computer.
- adb shell [hit enter]
- su [hit enter]
- flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-eris-v1.6.2.img (once again not found but I believe I followed correctly) this the end of commands the first half worked fine.
So I never had a problem with my Eris's haptic feedback or vibrate when I get a text until I played with my friends Incredible. I really liked the haptic feedback and was wondering if there were a way to edit it either through an app or flashing a zip in recovery.

I'm following the Universal Eris Root for Dummies thread here and it said to power off and then power up while pressing the volume up key. This does not launch the system recovery for me, just boots up like normal.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow to change the fonts on your rooted Droid Eris. I'm not sure if this works for all Android phones, so backup your phone before proceeding. This DOES change key Android files, so be careful. If you brick your phone, it's not my fault.
First of all, go to this website and find a font you like:
1001 Free Fonts - Download Free Fonts for Windows and Macintosh
The file you download should be a .zip, and when unzipped be in the format .TTF. Copy the .TTF file to your SD card. I suggest SDCard/Fonts/. After finding a nice font, download Type Fresh from the Market (free). Also, pick up AndExplorer (free) while you're there. Type Fresh will allow you to change your fonts, and Andexplorer is used as a handy file explorer.
Run Type Fresh, and it will display all the system fonts that Android uses. Touch DroidSans, and it will display a window using AndExplorer. At this point it should request superuser permissions; allow it. Find the folder with your fonts, select a font, and press okay. Press menu and select apply fonts. Allow it to reboot your phone when it asks, and afterwards you should have a nice new font to make your Eris even sexier.

Background: I have been trying to root my phone from information found in a youtube video. All went well and the little ninja bloke with the sniper rifle was in the app list. Tried installing busybox and was told that the phone was not rooted�..
I think I ran the root application again and at some point I started getting this error message when in recovery. I have since run the one click root method to unroot the phone and the little nija dude is no longer there. Since I rooted the phone it will no longer connect to my wireless network, it finds the network and attempts to obtain an ip address. After a few min it times out and tries again. When I load the phone recovery the error message is still present.
I hit the top button. Flash Clockworkmod recovery or what ever it said. I then backed up my Current ROM. I then downloaded Cyanogen v6.0.0 cr2. It downloaded and rebooted my phone. But It went to a screen with a Triangle w/ exclamation and a phone under it. I then hit the up vol button and camera, and now I'm at the Android system recovery page and I don't know what to do next. These are my options reboot system now apply sdcard:update.zip wipe data/factory rest wipe cache partition wipe base band data. I did click to backup current ROM and wipe data and cache.
View 38 Replies View RelatedJust rooted yesterday, and everything was running great... untill I installed Simply Stunning v4.3. I went to make a back up and found that I cannot access my recovery, it was stuck at the M. Now Rom Manager says that if this happens, flash a different recovery then flash clockwork back. Here is the catch- When I try to flash a different recovery I get this, "An error occurred while flashing your recovery."

Something leads me to believe it's not possible/easy to do because I haven't seen too much of this but if it is possible, a link to a tutorial would be much appreciated. Although a confirmation of the possibility of this would also be nice!

View 4 Replies View RelatedWell I decided to have a play and rooted my phone using the unrevoked method. All quite painless.
I flashed a version of DeFrost (2.2) and had a play, but encountered a couple of problems.
So I flashed 2.3 when is became available.
Then I haf problems with battery drain. Since then there have been a number of new releases of DeFrost - pretty much every day.
So I decided to restore my Nandroid backup and stick with the stock ROM until things settle down a bit.
Having done this, I can no longer get into recovery. The phone hangs on the Pink Circle screen and I have to pull the battery.
So has restoring the Nandroid backup which was made using the ClockWorkMod Recovery destroyed the recovery flash, and is that what you would expect or has something bizarre happened to me.
Just curious as I assumed that once the Recovery was on there it would stay there.
It's no big deal as I'm sure it will be just as easy to go through the rooting process again.
I've been trying to load amonRA's recovery for my nexus one. I've managed to unlock the bootloader, and gain SU permissions. But for the life of me,I cant seem to flash the new recovery image. I've used better terminal, and it says that theres no flash image found. But I have Put it on SD Card. I've copied the text correctly and I cant get it to flash. I've also tried to downgrade the radio to get better reception, and its saying that the update isn't signed. Is there something still locked up?

I've tried flashing through terminal emulator, and that didn't work. I also tried flashing through adb. I have confirmed that I have root, but it's telling me that there is no image found. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
