I used Google turn by turn navigation yesterday (first time for a while), and the voice was giving the road names as full numbers rather than the digits. (e.g. the "A" four thousand and fifty five, rather than the "A" four O five five), I know it used to do this when the app came out, but I thought they had fixed it. Does anyone know why its reverted to saying the full number rather than digits ? Using Android Froyo 2.10.405.2

View 17 Replies View RelatedThis phone has a great feature that i wish I had on my Pre. After searching for something in google it allows you to search for it with Sprint Navigation. Problem is that when I hit Sprint Nav it says the destination is "null" and I still have to manually type it all out which sucks for driving. In "maps" the destination address is already filled in. Is there a way to fix this or a setting needed to have the address input automatically in sprint nav?

Whenever I try to use it, it doesn't show my route like where I'm going. It looks like just a black screen in the middle and the voice doesn't work.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am sure this is old but, I downloaded Handcent at least 10 times already. I like the customization. It's the best SMS Application to me, but I'm not sure if it makes my phone run a bit laggy. I always go back to the stock app even tho its kind of boring, but very fast. I guess the question is, Is Handcent really worth it to you?
View 5 Replies View RelatedCan anyone confirm if Google Navigation can be used to just show your progress/location on a road while driving, without having to have an actual destination input?I know this was shown on a few of Rob's videos as not being possible, but just wanted to confirm if anyone had any further info on it.
View 30 Replies View RelatedWhat is difference between "Navigation" and "Sprint Navigation" apps?Newby to the smart phone, and am still trying to understand this "app" stuff. The "Navigation" app is a blue arrow, and is the one I use for map and voice navigation. The "Sprint Navigation" app seems to do the same thing in a much more belabored manner. Are these both Sprint, or what? Why two similar apps?Is one supposed to do something that the other doesn't. I don't get it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedJust dropped mine for the FIRST time since I purchased it in February. Dropped it from about average arms height onto a hard-wood floor, and it had a silicone case on it. Not really worried, but I am just curious how bad you have dropped your Hero at one time or another? Also, what kind of testing do these phones go through? Are they designed to take a bit of a drop? I have always been curious about that.

View 5 Replies View RelatedA client of mine also has an Eris and I was helping her get her navigation system set up and teach her how to use it. I wanted to put the google navigator icon (the blue arrow) on her home screen but could not find it anywhere in her apps. I did find the google navigation (map icon) app and set that up for her. So, my questions are: What is the difference between the two? How come I couldn't find the navigator app on her phone (on mine, it's under "programs")?

I was with a friend of mine driving and told her I needed to get a GPS (with all the times I'm getting lost, etc.)She has a Palm Pre and told me I have Sprint Navigation.I had no clue.I've even heard this was exclusive to Sprint. With all the marketing, and talk about 2.1 with GPS Navigation, how could I not have known about this wonderful App on my Android HTC Hero?
View 23 Replies View RelatedI've been wanting to get a dedicated GPS unit for a couple years now, but could never justify the cost over other things. In comes Sprint navigation. Wow, this thing is just as good as my friend's Garmin! Except it's built into the phone which means one less device to carry around. GPS lock is near instantaneous and directions have been spot on!I'm thoroughly pleased I didn't waste the money on a dedicated unit.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWondering if anyone else has had this problem. I travel extensively on the road and always use the google nav. The problem is when a phone call comes in within 30sec. to a minute at the most the Evo reboots itself. This has happened to three different phones. I drive a vehicle equipped with bluetooth and have synced my phone to the car and the same thing happens when I get a call and answer through the car while using google nav. Was also wondering why the heck google didnt think about automatically muting the voice on the nav while in a call...it's so annoying while talking to hear the nav voice talking in your ear. The other caller can not here it but its very loud in your ear while trying to talk.
