I am going to be getting my Evo soon and it will most likely come with 2.2 Froyo. Now I am going to root my phone right away and want to use a custom kernel. Cyanogen-6, but some people are having trouble flashing it. Will this be a problem, I have root experience with the Hero and custom ROM's but I never heard anything about NAND unlock on the hero.

I searched about nexus since it is similar and saw a few things about the app LOCKBOT, i recommend you atleast try the free version and see, it gives you unlock with the trackpad button and the ability to do custom lockscreen with different styles like Iphone, and different android locks. THis was one grip i didnt like about sense. Stock Android has the ability to swipe to unlock or swipe the other way to mute sounds, which is a nice feature, although i prefer my iphones switch the best
The bad...Ive read stuff about it crashing and being laggy, now i havnt experiended this on the INC, it runs super smooth. But i have been having a few times where the front button will not unlock the phone, maybe an update will fix this or something, but its worth a shot to look at.
I hate the default swipe of the x10 and want to install a different one. I have lock 2.0 which is great however it doesnt remove the default swipe. Does anyone know how to disable the default lock swipe?

View 6 Replies View RelatedThis is for an EVO but i'm thinking maybe it'll be similar to other android phones. what i'd to set up is to have the phone require the 'dot unlock pattern' after it's been sitting for 5 minutes idle. when i set it up with AutoLock, whenever the screen turns off after 1 minute, it'll rqeuire me to do the slide down to unlock which i don't want.

Its already accepted my sim card and I'm able to call and text and I put in an APNthat I'm not really sure is correct but is giving me data. I live out in country and I used to get to bars on my HTC One but this phone gets maybe one bar sometimes and then it gets nothing. What do I need to do in order to get better service? When I restared the phone it said "No sim" and emergency call only. I put a sim in, and it wants an unlock pin. Does anyone know a way t-mobile or google or whoever can unlock my phone for free? Someone I can call and explain the situation to? I dont know what to do and don't want to pay $20 to some sketchy company for a pin and I dont think my boss would either.

I bought my HTC Desire from T-Mobile Montenegro with prepaid SIM. After i leave the Montenegro i change to my Orange card, and get the "SIM network unlock PIN" message. I purchased the unlock code from globalunlock.com - Global Unlock - The Official Mobile Phone Unlocking Site. After i inserted the code i get the "Invalid Password" message. (By the way the company have no support, no refund, nothing, don't buy from them) I was wonder if there will be some suggestions how to solve this problem?

I know this phone uses the old software and want to update it to the new android software.I know I need an unlock code, but what do I do first. Shall I first update the ROM then once that is complete unlock it? Also do I need to use the T mobile ROM from here T-Mobile - Help & Support or the HTC ROM from here ROM Upgrade for HTC Hero_2.73.405.5.I would much rather use the HTC ROM if possible because id rather not have the T Mobile software branding.
