I have omj 1.4 n before i had supersonic n it wont let me install new roms, when i download the rom n try to install it, it goes to the recovery mode n stays there, nothing pops up. i think my recovery menu is messed up or something.

I've installed ROM Manager and I'm trying to use it to backup my current ROM and Flash to another (already download Damage Control). I'm currently running Fresh and want to try Damage Control. Anyway everytime I select the "backup current rom" option it prompts me for the file name and just boot to recovery mode and does nothing. Is there something I need to do to allow ROM Manager to work? I'm I fully rooted if i'm running Fresh? Can someone post instructions on how to flash between ROMs using Rom Manager?

I downloaded REVOlution, and then I got to recovery, I clicked reboot, and it always FREEZES at the M sign. Then I looked up other forum posts on this site, and so I ended up deleting cache, going to factory reset etc... and I still can't get back to my screen.

I've rooted my EVO using unrEVOked 3 and I've installed ROM Manager but I can't install any of the roms. I also tried to flash cyanogen by putting the zip on the sd card and when I try to load it, it says installation aborted then give a bunch of other stuff. This happens also when I try installing a rom from ROM Manager.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone with Unrevoked 3 and just installed the FPS fix kernal. For those of you who have not done so yet, I strongly urge you to give it a try. The smoothness of the phone after installing the fix is 10 times better. My FPS went from 30 to 50-55 as measured by Fps2D. I will be observing the battery life over the next couple of days to see if there is any impact on the battery life. Now that I have gone this far, I am considering installing a custom ROM. Which ROM's can I install given what I have done so far. As I understand it, by rooting with Unrevoked 3 there will be some that I will not be able to use.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone using the new unrevoked, and then installed the 'Google Apps (froyo)' ROM from the ROM Manager. Clearly this wasn't the right thing to do. So when I restart, it's still sense UI with 2.1. Google apps keeps force closing, preventing me from adding my google account, and in turn having the marketplace. So I have no way of downloading the rom manager and reinstalling my old ROM. I did create a backup ROM. Though if I get the ROM Manager and can install 2.2, I don't see why I would need this. So I guess my trouble stems from the google apps force closing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got my refurb today and it wont let me install the smoked glass roms neither v4 or v5. i rooted the phone with no problems. and i had smoked glass running perfect on my other phone.
I go to "advanced nandroid restore" then "choose backup" and i choose the smoked glass rom then the phone says: "nandroid exited with status 25." and if i try to use the backup rom i made it says "nandroid exited with status 21". any ideas? ive tried several times today with same results.

Astrid seems to be working fine without such a file manager installed.And finally, once installed astrid download is listed under my internet downloads.Is there any way to move this file or will it just remain under downloads on Internet? If I clear Internet downloads, then astrid will be gone?
View 1 Replies View RelatedEverytime I try to install a rom through ROm Manager, after it boots into recovery and starts loading it it just keeps saying it cant mount and that the file isn't found over and over. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? If I try doing it through update.zip it acts like it's installing then just goes back to recovery without doing anything. I have an X and have had no problems modding that so I really don't know what the problem is.

I've been using a galaxy Y S5360 for almost 18 months and I have been using custom ROMs for around 15 months. First I tried Creed 3.5 and loved it. A few months moved to Jellyblast 3 which was again fine. Two days ago I tried installing Hyperion and my phone got bricked I managed to flash stock ROM using odin . But now my phone gets bricked everytime I try installing a custom ROM ( tried Creed 3.5, Jellyblast 3 and Hyperion 8) and Im stuck with the stock ROM .

Select Download ROM
Select Virtuous
Select Extra Goodies
Click the "Download" button
Select "DSP Audio Manager"
Click the OK button
Select "Backup Existing ROM"
Click the OK Button
Click the OK button on the "Reboot and Install" dialog
Phone reboots to Skating Androids screen. Bootloader is selected, so I press the power button (my other options are Reboot, Reboot Bootloader, and Power Down). I get a new Skating Androids screen that shows Fastboot, Recovery, Clear Storage, Simlock and Factory Reset. I select Recovery and press the power button. Back to the same screen from step 10.
So every time I open up ROM Manager and click on anything it says "You must have CLockworkMod recovery installed before continuing! Install the recovery through ROM Manager first." Then gives an "Install" and "Cancel" button. What should I do. I have the bootstrap loader installed. Just upgraded to premium because I support the dev.

Also, my phone loads up fine etc. but i am on the stock desire FW and I have no market or google apps anymore (after the partition).

I have installed Rom Manager and Rom Manager Premium but when I click the install ClockWork thing it sais "confirm your phone type" The phone type listed is "Android B1" After clicking Confirm it comes back and sais its an Unsupported Device at this time and asks if I have manually installed it. I purchased this Tablet on Amazon.

Anyway while trying out ROMS today I tried the default android keyboard and I have to say. I LOVE IT. It completely owns the hero keyboard that came with my rogers htc magic. Anyway I basically want to know how to install the original android keyboard on other ROMS.
