Any tool that will install roms using a computer? I just want to be able to use a computer program to install roms without messing around with the phone.
I haven't had much luck with "adb shell recovery --update_package=/sdcard/rom.zip".
Or any way to convert the updater-script files in flashable zips into Windows batch files?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been using a galaxy Y S5360 for almost 18 months and I have been using custom ROMs for around 15 months. First I tried Creed 3.5 and loved it. A few months moved to Jellyblast 3 which was again fine. Two days ago I tried installing Hyperion and my phone got bricked I managed to flash stock ROM using odin . But now my phone gets bricked everytime I try installing a custom ROM ( tried Creed 3.5, Jellyblast 3 and Hyperion 8) and Im stuck with the stock ROM .

Steps:
1. Download Gapps for your ROM here.
2. Turn off your phone.
3. Enter recovery mode and do Wipe data/factory reset. (Make sure that you have backed up everything.)
4. Flash the Gapps.
5. Wipe Dalvik cache and cache partition then reboot.
6. Get the lastest version of Google Play Store and install it.
7. Update all the Gapps via Play Store.
8. Then install Google Play Services and done!
Or open the Market (Play Store) and tap agree. Then press home and leave it awhile. After the Play Store is updated, open it and tap agree again. The new Play Store should download Google Play Services and install it for you.
NOTE: It may NOT working with some ROMs.

It always says: "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information". Right now, I am trying to flash a custom rom and it is giving me this. Do I need to change something in the data.img or something?

I've rooted my EVO using unrEVOked 3 and I've installed ROM Manager but I can't install any of the roms. I also tried to flash cyanogen by putting the zip on the sd card and when I try to load it, it says installation aborted then give a bunch of other stuff. This happens also when I try installing a rom from ROM Manager.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone with Unrevoked 3 and just installed the FPS fix kernal. For those of you who have not done so yet, I strongly urge you to give it a try. The smoothness of the phone after installing the fix is 10 times better. My FPS went from 30 to 50-55 as measured by Fps2D. I will be observing the battery life over the next couple of days to see if there is any impact on the battery life. Now that I have gone this far, I am considering installing a custom ROM. Which ROM's can I install given what I have done so far. As I understand it, by rooting with Unrevoked 3 there will be some that I will not be able to use.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI just got my refurb today and it wont let me install the smoked glass roms neither v4 or v5. i rooted the phone with no problems. and i had smoked glass running perfect on my other phone.
I go to "advanced nandroid restore" then "choose backup" and i choose the smoked glass rom then the phone says: "nandroid exited with status 25." and if i try to use the backup rom i made it says "nandroid exited with status 21". any ideas? ive tried several times today with same results.

View 2 Replies View RelatedEverytime I try to install a rom through ROm Manager, after it boots into recovery and starts loading it it just keeps saying it cant mount and that the file isn't found over and over. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? If I try doing it through update.zip it acts like it's installing then just goes back to recovery without doing anything. I have an X and have had no problems modding that so I really don't know what the problem is.

when u install be prepared to see a balnk screen and wait, but it works real good.
When I switch ROMs on my droid, and boot up the new ROM, sign in to my google account, etc. the market automatically starts downloading all of the apps that I had. Now, like most rooters, I'm using Titanium Backup and restore my apps through that so I keep all of the data and settings as well. How do I stop the market from automatically starting those downloads? All I need to download is TiBu so I can restore all of my backups. The last couple of times I just go into the market and cancel all of the downloads except TiBu but with over 100 apps, that's very time consuming. There has to be an easier way that I haven't found or read about yet.

All I would like to do is edit a few xml files to change the color on text. Could I just rename the apk to .zip and extract the files to be edited?
I rooted my LG Thrill 4G (LG optimus 3D) with superoneclick which went smoothly and was fine. For some reason without me not even knowing the basics of a ROM decided to get an app ROM Toolbox I believe and play around with it. I did not download any ROM I was just looking at a cyano something rom when all of a sudden my phone froze. I tried turning it off I even waited 30 minutes for it to unfreeze but nothing happened so I pulled the battery. When I turned the phone on it just stays at the LG logo. I went ahead and pulled the battery again and started the phone in system recovery, but I get this no matter what I try to do:
