View 3 RepliesSeems to me everyone is so grateful for the Rom update that we haven't had time to be hacked off about it. I work in software and the size and number of these updates says to me that HTC knew about many of these issues before the handset shipped and were already working on fixes them. There is no way things like the camera upgrade are bug fixes found after go live. Someone (probably an accountant) decided that it was OK to ship even with the defects and that when they were fixed it was OK to have an update system that forced us all to completely rebuild our phones or partly rebuild them if we were prepared to buy a third party app to back them up.
If HTC seriously want to take on the Iphone they are going to have to be a lot slicker in future. Just having a great product is not good enough you need the whole package if you want mass market appeal. In the end they may have shot themselves in the foot. This update may have largely fixed the lag but all those early reviews are still out there and people considering this phone will still find them and be put off for months or years to come. Don't get me wrong I love it and would not change it for an Iphone or anything else I am just sad that such a great product has been so badly tainted by poor customer service and niggling faults.
I have all my music in the cloud on Google music. So I have no songs directly on my phone. Is it possible for me to stream music to my stereo through a regular media streamer such as the Western digital ones, using the Google music app?
I can't seem to find an answer to this. But I have found that some players can't play music from my phone because the music isn't physically there but rather in the cloud. So I'm curious to know if that is an issue before I buy a media streamer..
I have a eciplse 2 an440 something like that. When I do a bluetooth scan it finds my phone and sets up profiles for car calls but that's it. It does not find bluetooth stereo. Do I need to download a bluetooth audio player or should I check to make sure my stereo supports it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI did a search and cant seem to find if someone else has this problem. I use either radio time or iheartradio to stream radio stations and I have drop outs all the time. If I am on 3g it does this as well as Wifi. I would think wifi would be solid but I have tried a couple different interent connections just to make sure it wasnt the connection. This drives me crazy because there is no reason I should be able to stream a 48k stream on a good 3g connection for a wifi connection.
Is there any tweaks I need to do? Am I doing something wrong?
I just go the Droid and it sync's great with my car's blue tooth (2009 BMW) but I cannot seem to get the phone book transferred. It says transferring but nothing ever happens, just seems to show the revolving circle on my BT showing it is working but that is all. Battery seems to drain pretty fast in the car now too like this. Is there something I am doing wrong here causing the phone book to not transfer?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am developing an app that I wish to have pre-loaded with product images.Currently, I am accessing them from the resources folder 'drawable'. However, I also want the user to be able to add to list of products later by retrieving product information and products from a web server.
I can't access the resources folder at run time to save the images, so I need to have a single place to store them and retrieve them later.I have tried saving to the application directory, but am not having much success.I believe that storing images in the database is not considered good practice.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn December, there were new terms for the Market. A big note was "You authorize Google to give the buyer a full refund of the Product price if the buyer requests the refund within 48 hours after purchase." It still seems that all references to the refund policy still state 24 hours. http://market.android.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=134336. So is it 48 or 24 hours officially? Is the 48 hours in the agreement just because the 24 hours never seemed to be a hard deadline. I noticed users refunding around 30 hours in the past.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAlright, so I'm trying to write a program for Android for a project for school, I figured out how to use Intents to scan, but once I find a product, how do I get that info into my app? For example, say I'm getting info from upcdatabase.com, I would just add the barcode number to the end of the url, but then how to I draw that data in? The same with Google search, how would I draw the data and the image of the item into the app?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI used to have an iPhone that I could dock in my brodit car holder. The dock had a cable that ran in to a DICE module which connected to the factory head-unit and both charged the phone and allowed me to play music through my head-unit ? perfect. I now have an HTC Desire which is a great little phone and I want to set it up similarly to the way I had my iPhone setup.
I've looked at a number of different stereo's and the best solution I can come up with is a phone holder that, when the phone's docked, will charge only. I can then send mp3's via bluetooth A2DP but I'm not sure on the quality of this. Ideally I'd like a USB cable that I can connect the phone to which will charge my phone and send mp3's but so far I've found nothing.
with my current iPhone, I have a car dock from ProClip that has an iPod dock connector on the bottom. This allows me to both charge and get a line-out from the phone by simply sliding it into the holder. I use my iPhone with Pandora as my primary car radio through the Aux input on my stereo. if something like this will be possible with the Evo? It would be nice to only have to connect one cable and be able to get audio and charging at the same time. Bluetooth might be an option but it's kind of ungainly and I'd have to buy some kind of Bluetooth receiver for the stereo.
View 33 Replies View RelatedI am very new to android and smart phones and would like some advice. I have gone for the Sony X10 with one of the main reasons music and hopefully using it in the car. Can anyone advise me what is the best way (device) to pipe my phones music through the car stereo. I do not have a bluetooth car stereo or and mp3 inlet.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm about to upgrade my car stereo, and for about $30 to $70 more I can go with a bluetooth version, so I can stream music and hopefully books from audible.com as soon a they develop the app. I am planning to get the Verizon car dock or something similar to use the Google Nav. From reading posts in the Nexus One threads, the N1 streams music and phone calls well using bluetooth, and will pause music for nav instructions or a call.
Is it safe to assume the Incredible would work the same way? Also, I'd like to hear how others are planning to use their Incredible in the car. Ideally I'd like to drop the phone into the dock with the minimum of connecting charging cables, syncing cables, etc.
Will the Standard micro-USB (5-pin micro-USB 2.0) connector on the bottom of the phone allow me to use a WIRED car kit into my car stereo?I currently have a Nokia E51 and a THBBury thb-bury.co.uk*::*Uni System 8*::*THB Bury Nokia E51 Take and Talk System 8 Cradle - Now available. hard wired into my car stereo. It charges and all calls go through the stereo whilst muting the music. This is the only way for me to go. Bluetooth sucks and the cradle is a legal requirement and company policy. I am willing to wait for THB Bury to create a cradle for the Desire but if the single USB connector will not allow wired voice to this type of cradle it is a non starter.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Ministry of sound radio and it has a usb port.I have pluged in the phone via the USB port and started to press buttons to see if this works. Sometimes it did play music from my phone and most other times it said 'Error'. Is there a way to so it play's all the time when connecting? I Don't want to play through a 3.5 jack as USB also charges your phone while playing your music.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am in celebration so I decided to share my technological milestone. I just had a bluetooth stereo installed in my car. I now play all my music from my Nexus one. I removed all my CDs and put them in storage. The hands free function is excellent! It works far better than my expensive phone system at work.
When I had a bluetooth ear piece it was a drag to use so I gave up. This is nothing like that. I would rather talk with the hands free through the stereo than talk directly on the phone. Music pauses when calls are made or received. Love this thing! Probably there are many people here who are rolling their eyes because they did this ages ago.
I just got the Kenwood KDC-X994. The bluetooth worked perfect the first day and now I can get it to pair with my Evo but the stereo won't answer? I do think it is my Evo, not the stereo.

View 20 Replies View RelatedI have a Pioneer DEH-P7100BT head unit in my car (fairly new model.) Bluetooth always worked flawlessly with my blackberry phone. Issue with the Evo, I can pair the Evo with my stereo and I even get the call notifications on the LDC when my Evo rings, but the calls simply do not go through the speakers. I can output audio through bluetooth, navigation, music all work, calls do not. Am I missing something in the bluetooth or phone settings or is there a compatibility issue with my car receiver?
View 8 Replies View RelatedAm trying to play music on HTC Magic via bluetooth over the car stereo. I am able to control the phone's music player via the car stereo but no sound. Call control works fine over the car stereo via bluetooth. I have tried my wife's Nokia and it plays music with sound via the bluetooth over the car stereo. I have checked and HTC Magic does show the bluetooth is connected with phone and music.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am able to connect my Fascinate to the Aux input of my car stereo but when I make a call with the cable still connected, the internal microphone doesn't work. I have to disconnect the stereo cable and put the phone on speaker.
Ideally, I want to be able to keep the stereo cable connected and hear the person over the radio, and be able to talk. Is there a stereo cable with a microphone built into it that can be used for this purpose? I had one for my HTC device (Amazon.com: Handsfree Stereo Headset Headphones + Microphone + 3.5mm Adapter Converter + Car Home Charger Plug Port For All HTC Phone Smartphone PDA: Cell Phones & Service) that worked very well, but it would only push mono to the stereo.
My car doesn't have bluetooth so I can't go that route. What's my best option here so I can play music in my car and make handsfree calls without bluetooth?
