I just go the Droid and it sync's great with my car's blue tooth (2009 BMW) but I cannot seem to get the phone book transferred. It says transferring but nothing ever happens, just seems to show the revolving circle on my BT showing it is working but that is all. Battery seems to drain pretty fast in the car now too like this. Is there something I am doing wrong here causing the phone book to not transfer?

I am walking to my car, talking on the phone. When I turn the car on, I want to transfer from the phone to the bluetooth in the car/nav. unit.If I'm in my car, I can call/receive phone calls fine, but I can't figure out how to transfer a call to my car bluetooth, when I get in and I'm ready to drive off. Instead, I have to tell the person, I'll call them right back, as I have to make the call from the bluetooth setup.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've only had my droid for about three weeks now and would like to take everything off of my old SD card and utilize the 16gb card but I can't figure out how to do so. I have a MacBook, and when I had my Blackberry Curve and connected that to the Mac, it messed up pretty much anything media related and prevented me from accessing the sd card (if I remember correctly, it was a while ago and I certainly didn't try to do it again). From the looks of some of the forums, there have also been problems connecting the Droid to Mac's so I'm afraid to do that. Does anyone know if this is still the case? I'm at a loss at how to get the stuff onto my phone or the new sd card.

Then yesterday, while setting in the car, I was going to re-pair the connection between the phone and car I noticed that in the Notification Bar that the car was asking permission to receive the phonebook from the phone. Opened the Notification and granted permission and clicked on always grant access (or something similar). Phonebook was then transfered. Haven't had a problem with it since...
Why does the phone say PAIRED BUT NOT CONNECTED? How do i connect it to the other phone. To be more specific the other phone is the ERIS. So is it even possible to send songs, pics, etc to other phones from the DROID? And can the ERIS even accept bluetooth file transfers?

View 1 Replies View RelatedHaving issues with gmail contact sync. I was using the blackberry tour which I synced regularly with outlook. When I switched to the Droid i exported the vcard into gmail and the gmail synced with my droid. The problem is some of my contacts have been merged with other contacts. For example, Nick with no last name was merged with Nick H that does have a last name. They should be two different Nicks and I dont understand why the droid is combining them. I have checked the gmail account and the two Nicks are NOT merged together, but the two Nicks ARE merged on the actual phone. My phone was syncing with facebook and gmail but i disabled the auto sync and just manually synced the gmail on its own but i still have the same problem. I also have another friend with the same problem on her droid.

By extended numbers I mean ones where I have inserted a "w" between the number and say a password that allows me to continue into my voice mail once it has been answered (ex. 123-456-7890 w 1234). When I try to use one of these numbers, I get a message from Verizon saying the number cant be dialed. Apparently the Droid is not pausing where it should.

On my old phone (Samsung i8910), you were able to go into contacts, mark all the contacts and then transfer them via bluetooth.
On the DHD I cannot seem to find an option for this. Any ideas how I can achieve this?
I bought a bluetooth dongle on Amazon (ORICO BTA 403, CSR8510 A10 chipset) and installed it on my Windows 7 x64 computer.
The dongle installs fine and works perfectly with all my older phones but not with my Xperia S running Android 4.1.2.
Basically, if I install the automatic windows driver, and pair with the phone, windows complains about no drivers for the device, and I can't do anything with it.
If I install the supplied software (CSR Harmony wireless software stack) I can pair and the Xperia S is installed properly, the various audio services work (I can stream music to PC using BT), but I still can't send or receive files, either from PC to Phone or from Phone to PC.
The connection times out after a second and gives me a connectivity error. It's like the phone refuses to connect to the PC, both when transferring and receiving.
I don't know if the phone is the problem, it seems to not work only when doing file transfers with PC, if I try to transfer files to other phones or to my mac (which has built in BT) it works fine.
Any way to troubleshoot this issue to tell if the problem comes from the phone or the dongle? By the way, using Airdroid instead of BT is not a fix.
So I had a 5 yr old blackberry, was able to use the blackberry software to output my phone book (name,addy,ph#, all kinds of data) to a comma delimited txt file, which i then imported into an .xls excel spreadsheet. is there a way to use either of those files to populate my phone book on my new phone (droid x, android 2.2) instead of typing up hundreds of new entries?

I have since updated Android 1.6 and again repaired that update and lost all the contacts. Now when I try to Bluetooth them over I just get all the names and no numbers.
Is there anyway I can fix this? I tried getting all the contacts onto the sim card, but no luck.

My second question is my Droid is rooted with BB 0.4, is that going to be an issue when I go into the Verizon store? It is my first Android-based phone, so I am still learning the ropes. My question is this: When I take a video with my Droid, how do I transfer it to my computer? I tried emailing the video, but no attachments went thru. Is there a way to export it via USB, etc.? I know they can be sent straight to youtube if there is wifi available, but I want to send it to the computer for viewing, forwarding, burning to dvd, etc. Any advice anyone has would be greatly appreciated.
