HTC EVO 4G :: Pairing Phone With Car Stereo Via Bluetooth
Jun 6, 2010I'm having problems pairing my Evo with my Kenwood dnx6140 in my car.
View 20 RepliesI'm having problems pairing my Evo with my Kenwood dnx6140 in my car.
View 20 RepliesI just got the Kenwood KDC-X994. The bluetooth worked perfect the first day and now I can get it to pair with my Evo but the stereo won't answer? I do think it is my Evo, not the stereo.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Pioneer DEH-P7100BT head unit in my car (fairly new model.) Bluetooth always worked flawlessly with my blackberry phone. Issue with the Evo, I can pair the Evo with my stereo and I even get the call notifications on the LDC when my Evo rings, but the calls simply do not go through the speakers. I can output audio through bluetooth, navigation, music all work, calls do not. Am I missing something in the bluetooth or phone settings or is there a compatibility issue with my car receiver?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am looking at potentially replacing my head-unit in my car to something that can access my phone's media. Does the X10 allow playback through USB? This would be ideal, as it would charge the phone, and playback at the same time. Anyone have any experience with Bluetooth Connectivity via a phone and car stereo? From what I've seen, the BT connection is normally used for phone calls. Is the limitation on the phone end, or stereo end to prohibit streaming media?
Clearly the X10 can stream media via BT because I have a BT headphones that I use for music and phonecalls all the time.
So when I get an incoming call, my droid-X rings instead of my car stereo. I have the car stereo set to ring, but it does not. So I constantly miss calls in my car to the point where I may as well not even have a bluetooth stereo. In California, we can't talk on the phone and drive so it's killing me that this does not work after investing money into the system.
Never had a problem on my blackberry. Basically if I have the stereo on, I'm not going to hear my phone ringing, I guess I could set it to auto answer (not sure if that works yet either) but I like to see the number from who is calling first on my CD Player's face.
1. Will a stereo Bluetooth headset work for listening to Pandora on the Eris? I ask because I saw one thread in which somebody said "No Bluetooth for anything other than telephone sound" on the Eris.
2. If it will work, any recommendations such a headset? I'm no audiophile, so my main issues would be comfort and battery life.
I was cleaning all the crap off my phone I don't use anymore and I believe I accidently removed the bluetooth software that allows it to connect to stereo bluetooth headsets. I can control the player with the headset, I can make phone calls from it, but when I try to play music there is no sound.
I was trying to reset the phone using RUU, but it reboots the phone and then says it cannot reconnect after that and the software shuts down. I can still sync with outlook, so my driver is not the issue. I am out of ideas.
Is there anyway possible to reinstall just the bluetooth portion of the rom?
Almost a year ago I purchased the HT820 Motorolla headset so I could pair a bluetooth phone and mp3 player to the same headset. It worked fantastic. Now that I finally have my hands on the Google phone, I was hoping to dual pair the headset to the phone for both media and the phone.
I don't know if I am doing something wrong during the pairing procedure, but it will not play media through the headset, except in the second before dialing a contact or just after I hang up. Whatever music is playing, comes out of the speakers, but like I said if a call comes in, I hear the music through the headset until I answer, and then it pauses like it should, then plays again after I hang up but it switches back to the external speaker almost immediately.
It works fine for the phone, and in the Bluetooth list of devices, it shows as connected.
Has anyone been able to get their EVO 4G to pair to a BMW? I have a 2008 and cannot get it to pair to my G1.
The problem is Google's implementation of Bluetooth. the G1 just has OS 1.6, but I believe the problem has still not been completely fixed in 2.1.
Here's a link to the Google code issue:

I am hesitant to give up my $30/month SERO plan for an EVO particularly if I cannot get it to do hands free. Heck even Microsoft can get their phones to pair.
I am trying to create SPP connection with glucose meter. I can successfully pair with device and I can successfully establish connection however no data can be transferred because device must be paired with passkey. Sadly I cannot pair with passkey for some reason.
Log shows that device tries to establish connection with passkey but nothing seems to handle this request.

I'm pretty set on the htc hero as my next phone and obviously would like to use my existing bluetooth handsfree unit (Plantronics Discovery 925).
However when I tried to pair this with someone else's new htc hero at work, the phone did not detect the handfree unit despite several tries and with the devices only a couple of feet apart.
Has anyone else on here tried this pairing. Grateful for any advice on a way to get round this, I don't really want to have to buy a new handsfree set if I can avoid it. In fact I can't really understand why there should be a problem - surely any 2 bluetooth enabled devices ought to be able to find and talk to each other.
I'm trying to pair my bluetooth keyboard, which worked perfectly under Gingerbread, but will not pair under ICS. Basically, the keyboard will not go into pairing mode until I give it a pin, and ICS won't give me the pin until the keyboard is pairing. Is there any way to tell ICS what pin to expect before trying to pair? This is the sequence I am doing:
1. Put keyboard in discoverable mode.
2. Select the keyboard in the bluetooth menu.
3. Type in a pin on the keyboard and hit enter.
4. A dialog comes up on the tablet telling me what pin to use to pair. (I have to type in the pin in the keyboard for this to come up)
5. Pairing fails after about 1/4 of a second.
I'm having an issue here while trying to connect to an RS232 device with the BluetoothChat sample program.
1- If I first pair my phone with the device through Bluetooth Settings, no problem. The connection is made perfectly and the program works.
2- If not bonded beforehand, I get two errors in a row when I click on my device :

I am looking for a way to create a shortcut or perhaps an App that will allow me to pair/connect with devices easier. I hate that I have to go through the following path to do this: Menu/Settings/Wireless & Networks/Bluetooth Settings/Select Device. I would love to be able to add a shortcut on my homescreen that would allow me to pair with a specific device. Or maybe a widget that lists your devices so you can just tap the one to connect with. My car will connect automatically but other devices won't.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFor the life of me, I can't figure out how to do this without the toggle. Is there a way that my phone will automatically switch to BT when I get into the car and when I shut the car off, it would automatically shut off. I had this with my old lg voyager?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought a Xperia x10 mini on friday, and I am happy with it so far, but I previously had a W595. I have bluetooth connectivity in my car, and once bonded with the phone, this would connect to the W595 everytime I started the car automatically. Now however with the X10 mini, I have to scroll through the settings to bluetooth controls and find the ford audio paring and connect it manually. Can this automatically connect on the car start up as the W595 used to? It isn't practical for on the start of every journey I need to spend a few mins looking through the phone to connect it up.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIve been searching the net, droid forums, and spending ridiculous amounts of time at verizon stores and no one will give me a straight answer. Is there any way to either do something to the bluetooth or change the eris's sense ui so that it can pair with a wiimote, or are there any other bluetooth or USB keyboards or game controller that can for sure work with the eris?
Also, what is the best music player app? All I want is one that has an equalizer that works. Every time I hit the eq button on mixing it say that "the eq doesnt support this file type" and all my music is MP3 wtf. And does anyone know if theres any way that verizon will exchange a "broken" eris for an incredible?
Ive recently purchased the X10 and this is my first android phone. Im having a problem with the bluetooth function on it. I've just install Android 2.2 on my xperia, the sofware have been released from like 3 days, i,ve try today again and it still doesn't work.
I am new to this forum and just got my Eris today and yes the battery is almost dead. I paired the phone with my car today (a Prius) and it worked fine. However, for the life of me, I couldn't figure out how to unpair the BT. With my old phone, the BT would shut itself off after the car was off and I would walk a few yards away. I couldn't figure out how to shut it off. I have learned a lot from all of you over the last few days.
View 8 Replies View RelatedHas anyone had trouble keeping the Fascinate paired with a GM vehicle factory bluetooth? We have two vehicles at work (2010 GMC Sierra and 2010 Buick of some sort) and both vehicles pair and stay paired to the Fascinate. However, once you leave the vehicle and come back later, the phone doesn't automatically pair back to the vehicle. You have to go through the entire pairing process again.
We have confirmed that the GM vehicle paring works fine with a Droid X and all sorts of different Blackberries. Any thoughts?
I am unable to pair my jabra BT2020 headset with my Xperia x10. The phone just doesn't detect the headset, even after pressing the scan for new hardware button. Is this because the phone comes with version 2.1 and the headset is only 2.0. Is there any option to go round this problem, or should I get myself a new 2.1 version headset.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust wondering if anyone else has seen this issue. I have some Altec Lansing Backbeat (903) bluetooth headphones that I use with my Galaxy S. Very nice, decent quality, signal doesn't drop much, etc. Generally very pleased. My phone is however now being a pain with them....
Previously turning the headphones on, with the bluetooth already enabled would cause them to connect automatically. If i didn't have bluetooth turned on i'd have to manually connect from the bluetooth settings once I had enabled it. So far so good.
About a week ago my phone started 'forgetting' the headphones. This means almost every time I want to use them I have to pair them again. A huge pain. Even when the phone hasn't forgotten them they don't connect automagically, meaning I still end up in the settings menu. Any thoughts?
When my Bluetooth application is about to create SPP connection to the unpaired remote device, pairing notification is displayed. From the documentation I can see that pairing request can display a dialog or sent notification. I'd like to know what logic causes my app to sent notification than display a regular pairing dialog. Maybe I'm blind but the problem is I were not aware of that notification and was fighting with pairing problem for few hours :) And I'd really would prefer my app to trigger dialog display.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to observe a bluetooth pairing and then be aware of when the connection no longer exists? Basically I want to observe when my phone connects to another device and what that connection is dropped to that I may execute an action based on that connection.
