My Gmail account used to automatically update on my phone as soon as I would get a message. Now it seems like I have to go in and manually click "refresh" under settings to get it to update. Can anyone tell me how to set it up so your gmail inbox will update automatically once you receive a message?

Recently as in the past few days I have noticed that new emails aren't giving me the status update/green flashing light as SMS messages are. The only thing I've done recently is re-flashed with the BA20 update and did a restore from Titanium backup of my apps and system info. I am getting mail, but no indicator. I have the account set to check every 5 mins and send and indication.
I sent a test email to my account and went into settings, data sync and synced gmail and the the indicator worked as it immediately found my new test email. I've received several emails in the past few days though with no indication. Any thoughts?
I have 2 gmail (apps) accounts on my phone.The first account: I want to know when I get an email.The second account: I don't want to know when I get an email - but still want, for checking and sending only when I look at the account.Is it possible to disable notification on one account and keep the other?I've got a Sony Xperia X10 Mini Pro and have waited a looooong time to get 2.1, JUST for the multi email accounts capability - now that I've got it, I'm not liking it because I get disturbed when I get email on the second account.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have just updated to version 2.1 and noticed my push Gmail wasnt working. I then went into the Google Mail application and can see its not showing any emails in the inbox and its not downloading any mail in "All items" either. Its only showing emails prior to the update. If I hit refresh it spins for a few moments and I see the data arrows indicate transfer but it doesnt refresh the inbox.
View 5 Replies View Relatedi'm trying to add a 2nd gmail account through the gmail app. it goes through the entire process, goes to the sync page and allows me to select what i wish to sync up then gives me a confirmation that the account has been added but when i go to the gmail app and check accounts it still only lists the 1 original account. i've tried powering the phone off and restarting - also added the account via HTC email app and deleted the 2nd account via HTC email app just in case it was conflicting there
View 2 Replies View RelatedYesterday I noticed that my emails from my phone were not getting sent.Today I noticed I had a bunch in my outbox that said sending.I have the sync turned on and all my other Google apps sync (Calendar, Picasa, Contacts) but gmail never updates.I can't force it to send and receive either.And I can't remove my account to set it up again without doing a factory reset.Any ideas why just my gmail is not syncing anymore?BTW I tried to uncheck all sync options turn off phone and back on then check them again without any luck.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have my original gmail account "slaved" to my google apps account, so when I log in to user@gmail.com it displays my google apps user@domain.com as being logged in. For most things this is great, but now with the android phone there are some gotchya's First was the Market. I had to create yet another gmail account to buy anything off the market, because when I sign in to my 'gmail' account on my phone it signs me in as an apps user.
Second, is my google voice (attached to gmail) has its own set of contacts associated with my gmail account, and they are not synced with my google apps account. I was hoping the phone would sort of mesh them together, however I'm not seeing that. On my iPhone I was using soocial, however they recently stopped allowing unlimited contacts and their new free limit is below my number of contacts. Is there a way for the phone to keep these to contact lists "connected" and synced together?
I'm looking to change my primary account for my android phone but am not looking to loose all my information while doing it. The gmail account i set up my first android phone with was really just a bin for all my other crazy emails to go to. I finally got to creating a real gmail account for myself and want to tie my phone to this account instead.

It stays in the notifications bar and if I try to input the password it authenticates forever then tells me the password or login are incorrect.Weirdest part though is I can still access the account and it appears i am still receiving push notices.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI realize that the Incredible will bring in your Gmail contacts during phone setup so I have all of them currently organized in Gmail as Last Name First Name in the single Name field as Gmail currently doesn't have two separate fields for first and last name. Does the phone itself have fields for first and last name and if so does it make more sense to reorganize my Gmail contacts so the phone can recognize what is the first name and what is the last name?

In Gmail, you can respond to emails as if it was coming from the business email (server). This was a simple sync I had with Blackberry emails. However, I'm finding difficulties setting up the same thing for my new HTC Incredible (Verizon provider).

View 3 Replies View RelatedWith 2.2 we got the market feature to update all which will just update all of the apps that have outstanding updates in the market.
What I cannot figure out is how to stop one particular app from updating, specifically I do not want to update the Facebook app since there are many reviews saying it is a big battery drainer and I do not use the app anyway.
Also, anytime I download a new app from the market, it automatically starts the download of the Facebook update, so I have to cancel it or if I don't catch it in time I have to uninstall the update. For both instances it just appears in my update queue again and I have the same problem next time.
So basic question is: Is there any way to select an app to not automatically update with the update all feature, or can we turn off the update all feature?
Droid X - Configured with a Google Apps Premiere, working great. Attempting to add a personal GMail account. Go to the GMail app, select add account, fill in the metrics and then...... "Needs to communicate" message for ~ 3 minutes, then bombs out with - "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server". 3G is fine, on a wifi connection that is fine, web browser works fine..... Google Apps account works fine.

Has anyone who ran into this problem successfully upgraded their Gmail using Titanium Backup or some other method? How is it done?
Running Ruby 1.1.1(and loving it), and saw the update on my downloads in the market. I update but when it installs, says update unsuccessful. I went into manage apps and cleared data and cache and tried again but no luck.

At the moment I am using the default htc email widget, however when ever I read an email from my gmail account it doesnt update the read status so it still shows as unread.
