HTC Desire :: Way To Set Contact Picture For Peoples NOT Linked To Facebook?
Apr 14, 2010How should i set contact picture for peoples that are NOT linked to with facebook so the contact picture will look GOOD? Because when i set some picture to contact on google contacts or from phone photo album, after a sync the picture of the contact looks UGLY!! It has some crap resolution, dunno why, but the facebook contact pictures are still in great quality. So how should i set the "not facebook" contact pictures so they will keep high resolution and will look good?

Jun 12, 2010I have an app which uses 3 different spinners to allow users to choose from some options. Iīve added those spinners to my layout without editing most of itīs properties and this way it works for most of my users. Unfortunately most isnīt all and then some of them started complaining that the list of options is showing text in white with over a white background! Iīd like to know if thereīs a way (or a property) so I can force those spinners to show the options list using text in black.

Jun 22, 2009I'm creating a basic Mapview application which will display my current location on the google map. Initially i had many doubts while creating the application, but thanks to android developers archives that helped me to reach this point. I have followed almost all the threads on the android developers site but still unable to see my location on the google maps. It always shows a white screen on the emulator with google image at the bottom. Please help to make it work. From most of the threads I learn that we need to sign our application with the correct fingerprint. I did so but unsuccessful.
The following will explain the steps:
1. Using sdk version android-sdk-windows-1.0_r1
2. Created a new android application.
3. Signing the application:
a. C:Program FilesJavajdk1.6.0_13in>keytool.exe -list -alias androiddebugkey -keystore "D:Profilesfknq86Local SettingsApplication Data Androiddebug.keyst ore" -storepass android -keypass android
b. Certificate fingerprint (MD5): 75:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:33 where XX=some alpha numeric data
c. signing up for an Android Maps API key!

General :: White Blank Screen After Reflash Star N8000
Nov 14, 2012A few months ago I bought two N8000 phones and I was glad they came with full Hebrew menus. But now I bought a device that came without Hebrew.

And now the device turns on and works, but the screen remains blank white.
I saw on the forum that people have asked for the problem and you told them they have to replace the DSP_BL file and reflash

I downloaded also this tool SP_MDT software fot flashing.rar But I was unable use it
I downloaded also this two packages, (Taiwan101_STAR-N8000_V.05-1.zip + Taiwan101_STAR-N8000_ICS_V.09.zip) but they are not suitable for use with SP Flash Tool v3.1216.05 (they not have scatter.txt file)
Android :: Webview Showing White Bar On Right Side
Feb 17, 2010I am giving the following method call to my webview client embedded in my layout wv.loadData("<html><body bgcolor="Black"></body></html>","text/html", "utf-8");
when i run this on the device, it shows a white vertical bar on the right side. I fixed the white thing by using webview.setBackgroundColor(Color.BLACK); but i want to remove it completely

Apr 21, 2010Having just moved to an Android 2.1u1 HTC Desire from an Android 1.5 HTC Hero, I've noticed that there a weird behaviour from TabWidget in that it shows a thick white line under the tabs instead of what I think it should do. Difficult to explain so here are two URLs: http://android.esstec.co.uk/images/how_it_should_be.png http://android.esstec.co.uk/images/what_it_is.png Initially the tabwidget looks like the first picture but when you do anything with it (change tabs for example), it looks like the second. These screenshots are from the Google provided API demos so I don't think it's my code, but I wanted to paste here before filing a bug. Anyone got any ideas?

Sep 29, 2010I have started having crappy signal at my work for the past week. Finally i called verizon and there are no tower outages or anything they are aware of. Yes, i am in a building, but i have been in the same building for almost 2 years and with verizon for 1 year. I have always had 3 out of 4 bars of 3g service. Now my DB will say -85 or -90 which i know is fine but i'll have 0 of 4 bars or at best 1 and it will be 1x!!!!
I'm friekin' out because having no signal at work sucks. i'm missing calls and forget about downloading an app, it takes forever if it works. So my question is, did 2.2 do this? I got the OTA and it's been happening almost as long as i've had 2.2. i got 2.2 on the 22nd like everyone else and it probably started on the 24th.
Or is this simply a case of Verizon having to release an Alltel tower or something or a roaming agreement running out and now i am just screwed? I think this may be the case since nothing else seems to make sense. Oh and i did walk a city block away from my building outside and it's the same: -88 to -96 signal but 0 bars or at best 1 bar. what happened to my poor droid x? now my battery life is sucking too because it's always searching for a signal and wearing itself out!!! Sad, sad, sad. Again, only in the last week has this happened to me. I'm rooted but i had stock 2.1 and got the official 2.2 ota. only rooted so i could rename bloatware. my phone had AMAZING reception before! I even saw a -59 once which i'd never got down to on my droid 1 (mostly low -80's).

I'm trying to follow the model given by the JetBoy demo, so I'm adding a view to the layout which extends SurfaceView. When this new view is put in my xml layout, I just get a blank screen.

Jan 27, 2014I have a problem on my Asus ME301T tablet with the Play Books app (I'm running android 4.2). Regular text based books work just fine, however, comic books show as blank pages. Sometimes it will load a few pages if I rotate the screen a few times.
I've tried to reinstall the app and redownload the comics without luck. It works fine on my Samsung i9000 running android 4.3.
Motorola Droid X :: Sd Card Reader Showing Blank Card
Aug 17, 2010today I put my sd card into my sd card reader to throw some photos on to my computer. After I was done i put the sd card back into my droid and booted it up. After booting I get a notification saying my SD card is blank, so I turn off the phone and pull the battery out. When I grabbed my SD card it burnt my hand "literally" it was that hot... Wtf?!?! I put the SD card back in the reader and the computer doesnt even see the card. Idk if anyone has heard of a similar problem b4 and knows a fix...Thanks in advance! Side Note; I work at a cell phone repair store, so I put the sd card in two other blackberry's and they say "your sd card needs to be formated or it is corrupt". I put other sd cards into my phone and i have no problems.

May 11, 2013In the Facebook app for Android and on the mobile website, my liked pages aren't show correctly. I think it only shows likes from a huge while back, as any pages I've recently liked just don't show up. The weird part is that my newesty liked pages shows up on the button for likes on my profile, but once you click it, it's nowhere to be found. Another werid thing is that after pressing that, it says that I have "Other Likes: 11", but once I click that, it only shows 9.
Here is what I want you to try:
-Go to the facebook app, slide out the menu and click your own name to go to your profile.
-Slide to the side in the area where you have About, Photos, Friends and Places and slide until you see the Likes button.
-Check the pictures on that button and see if you can find them in after clicking the button
-See if the number of Other Likes match with the amount it shows.
I'm wondering if its just a bug for everyone or if I'm the only one having the problem. Maybe there is even another way to get to your liked pages??
Android :: Always Showing View Among Activities
May 21, 2009Is there a way to have a view "always-showing" between activities? I say, I need a button to be always appearing on the bottom of the screen.
I could get it working with an ActivityGroup, but I got a problem. My application can work with more than one level of activities, or rather, Activity A can start acitivity B that can start Activity C, all them with the button showing in the bottom. When I press "Back", I need activity C to finish and the focus to go back to B, but as I'm using an ActivityGroup, it does not work.

My only issue so far is that even though I've selected in the People app only to display Google contacts there seems to still be Facebook contacts appearing, albeit only the ones who have entered phone numbers into their Facebook profile. This causes duplicate entries for the same person in messaging apps (default and Handcent) and in the People app it seems to prefer to show the Facebook contact details rather than the Google ones.

Oct 12, 2010Since the 2.2 update I have had double Facebook birthdays showing in my calendar. 1 from the old method of posting the URL in google calendars and the other from Facebook under the calendar option. After trying over and over to erase the original way from my phone with no luck, I decided to just delete my Gmail calendar all together and then reload it onto my phone. Once I did that, I restored my Gmail calendar and made sure the Facebook calendar option is checked. Now, I have NO Facebook birthdays at all. No matter how many times I check, uncheck and refresh the calendar, the birthdays refuse to come back.
