HTC Desire :: Way To Set Contact Picture For Peoples NOT Linked To Facebook?

How should i set contact picture for peoples that are NOT linked to with facebook so the contact picture will look GOOD? Because when i set some picture to contact on google contacts or from phone photo album, after a sync the picture of the contact looks UGLY!! It has some crap resolution, dunno why, but the facebook contact pictures are still in great quality. So how should i set the "not facebook" contact pictures so they will keep high resolution and will look good?

I have a contact that is linked to a Google and a Facebook contact. Both have photos. If I open the contact, press the link and then press the drop-down that overlays over their image at the top-left, I can change the contact to use the Google picture - which I prefer.but the picture ALWAYS reverts to the Facebook one after a while. Why is this?I should note that the Google picture is not THEIR google picture in GTalk - it's one I uploaded for them.

Ok, so you can link your friends facebook to a contact, and have their facebook picture as their contact picture. None of my friends contact picture has changed on my phone, even though a lot of them have changed their profile picture on facebook. Is there a way to refresh this somehow? FB is set to sync every few hours, and I've manually done it and no dice.

I accidentally linked 1 phone number with two facebook profiles. Is there anyway to remove either of these? I tried deleting the number and re-adding it, but both facebook profiles were still linked to the number.

I want to link a few of my contacts with facebook so that I pull facebook info and get their profile pic. I know how to do this. However, I'd prefer to keep the name I already have for them on my phone. For example: Say I have "Jon" saved on my phone. His facebook profile name is Jon McJonjon. When I link the profiles, now his contact will read Jon McJonjon. I'd prefer to keep the name I previously had for him as his contact name. Any way to prioritize which profile you're linking is the main contact name that shows up under the contacts list?

Recently upgraded my Orange Hero to 2.1 and linked all my google contacts to the facebook ones.
However, it also appears to have imported details like phone and email address from facebook which for most people are completely out of date. ( I haven't update my facebook contact number in years =/ )
Now when I write a message, I'm presented with 2-3 copies of each contact with different phone numbers.
I'd like to keep the Birthday and profile pics that facebook imports, but not any of the contact details. Is there anyway of doing this?

I recently upgraded to the Motorola Droid 2. When I logged into all of my accounts the contacts came over and auto linked to Facebook...this is fine, but the Google contacts with phone numbers are being hidden by the Facebook contact info and not showing their phone number. Is there a fix for this? Do I have to sign out of my Facebook account to see phone numbers?

I lost a contact somehow and so created a new one with name only but no phone, email details. Then I linked the contact to that persons facebook profile, so now the contact diplays their details from facebook. Then I sync with gmail contacts and looking at their contact in gmail it shows some link metadata rather than the actuial phone numbers etc. This is the data:

Is there any way to have the phone copy the contact data it reads from facebook and store this in the phone in the person's contact record? This way it will track through to gmail contacts.

I am not sure if this came up in one of the topics, but I may have missed it.
For the past week, I noticed some of my contact priority number was defaulting to the number I least call. This morning, while trying to figure how to make priority changes, I noticed it was due to linking it to facebook.
I linked my wife's info with her facebook and the priority number (mobile) pushed it to her home number information she has on her facebook account. So instead of me just going to click on my wife's name or say a command to call wife, I have to scroll to find the number I want to call.
I there a fix for this to let us set the priorities?

I was wondering if the X10 can do the same as my last android Hero, which basically link the facebook info contact to my related phone contact, including the picture. I guess this wont need any hardware, but software. Has this improvement being asked or is it planned for future updates?

For some reason when Orange send me texts, a photo of one of my facebook friends is attached to it. I do not have this person's number in my contact list, so I dont know how they have become linked. I clicked on "View Message Details" and the sms is coming from "from_Orange".
Anyone having the same problem or know how to fix this?

When I first got the phone I had it sync my contacts with facebook. However as time has passed my facebook contacts have changed their profile pics but my incredible still has the same pic on the phone profile from the first time I set up the phone. How do I get it so my contacts on the phone have the current facebook pic?

Does Anyone have multiples contacts being created and linked every single time the app initiates a sync. So for example under Joe smith it would create a contact named com.facebook.auth.login under joe smith. And this is created everytime it syncs, so overnight i had about 5 for each contact. It also doesnt pull the picture for each contact.

I have synched a lot of my contacts with their Facebook accounts, but for a couple of them I have chosen custom pictures to appear in the phonebook. Whenever I connect to the Internet, the custom pics gets replaced by their current Facebook profile pictures. Is there any way to disable this without completely removing the Facebook synch?

I'm trying to get Facebook profile pictures assigned to internal phone contacts, but cant get it to work. I installed the recently updated Facebook app, at the first launch it asked me if I want to sync my contacts, I selected Sync with exisiting contacts (later I selected Sync all since first option didnt work) but still profile pictures are not being fetched. I can now see facebook contacts in my main contact list, and I can link them with my phone contacts (manually), but profile picture is still blank. When I click the View profile (facebook) link of a particular contact I'm taken to my profile page instead of the person i clicked on. And when I select Edit and go to Facebook tab there is an error with an exclamation mark with the message "Unable to edit SNS contacts on phone".

I installed the latest Facebook app on my Droid today and found that it synced most of my contact photos beautifully. (I chose the second option: only to sync photos with my current contacts) However, one minor issue and two less minor issues:
- For one of my contacts, the picture didn't sync. Dunno why but I guess I can just add the photo manually.
- Another thing is weird. After making a call I've noticed that in my dialer's "favorites" tab, there is a contact who I am friends with on Facebook but whom I do not have the number for, nor whom I have ever called at all! This person keeps reappearing (with FB profile pic and email address) in my dialer app, but the person is not in my actual Google / Android contacts.
Any ideas on how to fix that latter issue? Whenever I delete this person's listing from the Favorites tab, they keep reappearing after I make calls (to other people) O_o
Oh, and since we're talking about the Facebook app..
- Is there any way for Facebook to use the Android notification system to let me know about any new FB notifications? As it is, I'll be on the computer and see some new notifications, but on my Droid I have to manually refresh notifications in the app before it knows about them. Kinda weird.

I have contact pictures for my contacts that I have chosen and assigned to my contacts manually and are stored as the Google contact picture, I have an issue with the facebook app when it syncs a facebook profile picture update the application forces the contacts default picture to be the facebook picture.
I don't want it to do this, it can change the facebook linked contact picture but why does it have to change the contacts default picture?? Is there some way this can be blocked or stopped from within Android contacts??
This has been prevalent since before I can remember with the facebook app and sync. Surely submitting a bug to facebook is not the solution as we SHOULD be able to control and/or lock portions of our contacts details..

How can I have my x10 mini pro display my contacts' chosen picture (as saved in the phonebook) and not the contact's picture from facebook? I don't necessarily want to separate the contact from their facebook profile.

I have all my contacts in Gmail and sync'd with facebook on my desire.Some contacts I have images in google too (which are low res as we all know).I used Facebook Sync (or fbSync) from the market to pull images from facebook and upload to Gmail.This appears to work fine.Out of the contacts that have images for facebook and google contacts, some default to using the FB image (which is what I want) and some default to google.I need google images because HulloMail VVM only uses gmail contacts so I don't get a contact image unless I have a gmail ones for my voicemails.I have tried to find a trend between the contacts that default to google and those which don't but have been unsuccessful in finding one. I have tried turning off contacts sync but also to no avail.Has anyone else had this issue, or has anyone got any idea on what could be causing this please? I've been trawling the web for too long now and can't find any reference to this issue at all.

I've added a contact picture from my gallery to a contact. What I am struggling with now is how to remove that contact picture from that contact. I imagine that if I want to change it, I can just assign the new one to it, but at now, I want to remove the pic so I can use the person's facebook profile picture as the contact pic but cant seem to figure out how to remove the contact pic.

How do I retain the usage of phone's contact picture instead of Facebook sync's pics? I just sync'ed and some of my contacts (that are also on Facebook) still used the original picture from my phone while some used FB's profile picture. is there an option that if the contact has picture already on the phone, then don't use FB's profile picture?

I've got a contact in my phone, with a picture. When i receive a message / call from her, it comes up with her Facebook picture, not the one on the phone. The contact is not linked to facebook and i have un-synced facebook. I had lived with it if it was just the picture change, but i also get problems returning messages. It is not picking up the correct number. I have her number as 07.In facebook it's +44. It is using the facebook one and not picking up the "+", so is an incorrect number. It's frustrating the hell outta me, especially as it's the person i text most.

I found it annoying that when in my Contacts my friends facebook pictures dont update. Under, Menu/Settings/(Account and synch) I got facebook to refresh every 1 hour. The facebook headlines from my friends do show up, but their pictures stay the same nomatter what. How do I update the contacts pictures automatically?

Contact names get changed when linked with another and so my contacts look ridiculous. as a example, When I have a contact named "Roy (company)" and same person has the skype name "roy1985", when I linked both its just "roy1985" is appear on my contacts. is there any way to link them and have the name I assigned ("Roy(company)") to be in my contacts app?

Since I got the 2.1 Android upgrade, the picture of my contacts linked to facebook users do not update automatically anymore; so if a friend changes his profile picture on facebook, the new picture is not shown in "People". This was not the case before.

I've seen a few threads on here about this but none with an answer to my question.I want to keep facebook on friend stream but i want to remove the contact sync option.Numerous people have said to remove the facebook for htc sense option in settings->accounts and sync.then to re-add the account and quickly untick the "sync contacts"box. I've done all this except for the last bit as there is not a check box.I can only imagine that the app has been updated to not include a check box.
