I'm getting a ton more time out of the batteries charged in the wall charger but I have noticed the batteries won't charge in the phone via USB. Anyone else have this problem? I like the extra time but not being able to charge in anything except the wall isn't that great. Guess i'll just use them as backup batteries.

The idea here would be to maximize battery life if you know that you are going to be away from power for a long time, and want to be sure you can use the phone if an emergency arises.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm close to my 30 days trial being up and I will be out of town when it actually is, so I needed to return the phone early. I just can't live without a working GPS function on a SmartPhone. I travel and love how smartphones allow to me to schlep on less thing (GPS).
Anyway, I had ordered the Ebay Hongkong 2 batteries & charger. Since I have no use for them I'm going to give them away. They are $10 new so by the time I list them and have them sold on ebay its just not worth the hassle.

I already checked with HTC support and below it's their reply:
"I can understand the frustration with not having the Chinese be compatible with Chinese. Unfortunately, this version with Telus is an English/French only device. If you want Chinese on the device you will need to search for a 3rd Party Application on the Market. We do not get trained in the Applications so we do not support them and you will need to do some research for them. You can Google the Chinese Language Pack as well, but again we cannot support this 3rd Party Programming and I advise to research before downloading to your device."

It had all the chinese apps, but I removed them, and flashed gapps, and everything is working great, except the gps.It just cant get a lock on anything. After waiting a few minutes, it just found 2 sattelites, but didnt lock on them.It's rooted, and I already tried changing "gps.conf" file, but it didn't work. I attached the screen I get, when I am using GPS Status.

Yesterday, i decided to factory reset my phone to wipe all data and i done that this way: Settings - Backup and Reset - Factory Reset. After this, my phone reboot and now the operative system does not launch. The screen lights on but doesn't do nothing, neather the logo appears. I've tried to pull out the battery, full charged it and some other things and remains the same.
I've tried to go to Recovery mode but i don't know how to access it in this chinese phone. I've tried Vol Down + Power Button, Vol Up + Power Button, Home + Power Button...doesn't do nothing, only black light screen.
I just bought a new Xperia X10 mini Pro in China during my trip there, and now continuing to other countries.
I don't read Chinese, and most of the applications pre-installed on the phone are in Chinese (including Market and SE Sync !)

This has been an issue that's been bugging me the last few days now. The stock wall charger that came with my Droid X is the 5PN5504A, which has an output rating of 5.1V, 850mA. My understanding is that the mini-USB interface is an industry standard for power delivery to portable devices, which I take to mean that any charge source should work (wall charger, desktop PC, laptop) as long it has uses an USB interface. So any USB-->miniUSB cable can be used to charge any mini-usb device, regardless of power source, right?
I already have several other mini-usb devices, such as bluetooth headsets, which all came with their own wall chargers. However, I checked these chargers, and they all have different outputs: 5V @ 200mA, 5V @ 150mA, 5V @ 550mA. Because the default Droid X cable was so short, I was tempted to use these other chargers. I plugged in the 5V@150mA charger to my Droid X, and found that the phone does not show it's charging (the lighting bolt isn't there, there's no animation on the battery indicator). So then I switched to the 5V@550mA charger, and it DOES charge....................
it works perfectly fine with main charge and usb charge and now it won't charge whatsoever no matter how i try. i did the factory reset on my x10. still it wont charge. btw when i turn off my x10 first, then connects it to the power. it would turn on my phone like others but just wont charge.

When I charge it with the cable that came with it, it charges fine. But if I charge it with the Moments cable, it doesn't charge. The battery icon is animated as if it's charging and Spare Parts reports that it's charging, but the battery level continues to fall as if it's not plugged in.
I'm looking to buy a spare battery, and atm, i'm leaning towards buying an oem battery. But before I make a purchase, I'd like to hear some first hand experiences from actual owners of slim extended batteries. So, if you don't mind, those of you who actually use the extended slim batteries, please let me know the company, mah, where you bought it from, and you experiences.
View 3 Replies View RelatedNo matter what I do I am unable to open a file, either in my app's data directory or on the sdcard and also in a folder on the sdcard. To test I placed a test.txt file in all three directories.When I do listfiles, I get the correct list of files set in an array. I've even tried getting the list and filtering out a specific file and try opening it that way and just trying the first item in the array.Is there some security that may be set that is making it so I cant open files? This is not the emulator, it is on a device.

View 1 Replies View RelatedNo, this is not a thread to bash the battery for the EVO. In fact if you do some research, you will notice that i have praised the EVO's battery in the past. Recently, however, my battery died on me on my trip to florida, and a sprint store in Daytona ordered me a new one. It is not the red EVO battery i have come to know, but a mere black one with the words 'HTC Innovations', and has the appearance of it looking used (some crud on it, which i still have not removed).
So my question is do batteries have good and bad days? I have not changed any settings on my phone, and i use to get a day out of it before it reaching 20%. Now im lucky to get 6 hours. Did i get a refurbished battery?
Doesn't have to be HTC branded, as long as it's form a reputable source?

View 19 Replies View RelatedI am running 3g even though i am in 4g area. I turn my wifi off even though i have wireless at my house. I have the cdma auto thing on. Yet i am still only getting 5 hours max off charge with my phone. What gives? I do have GPS enabled on all the time but that should not matter. I love my phone no matter what, but this battery shit is pissing me off. My HTC touch can go 2 days with no charge and still be able to make a phone call. HTC EVO not even 5 hours before it dies.
View 18 Replies View RelatedMy phone is almost unusable when its on the charger. my lock screen doesn't like to unlock, my keyboard goes completely nuts. doesn't matter if its the house charger or the car charger or connected to the computer, it gets really unresponsive. it really pisses me off. i have done at least 3 hard resets in the past 3 weeks and it doesn't help. im starting to think it may be launcher pro or something. anyone else have a problem like this while charging?
