I emailed HTC last week with these questions, thought I would post up the replies if anyone else wants to know...
1) Is this safe to use 3rd party extended batteries and will it make a difference to the capacity (it's 1600mAh)? Also, are HTC going to release an official extended battery in the near future?
2) When will the copy protection issue with Google get sorted out?
3) Are you going to release a version of HTC Sync for the Mac operating system?
Anyone else find the play back have awful quality? especially for a higher end phone like this one. My playback has the lowest quality I have seen in a phone in a long time. Pre had much clearer resolution. Is there a player in the market that helps with higher resolution?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI am sorta shocked, only for the fact that he freakd out that I had installed a new custom boot screen and told him that rooting doesn't neccessarily remove anything sprint puts on the phone. I guess more shocked that he knew what it was.
Regardless, if I own the phone, I am going to do what ever hat I want to it even if it voids the warranty because that shouldn't be an issue.
I currently have the 129.99 family plan plan with sprint, and i have an htc evo. Will sprint tv cost any extra money?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI dont mind the stock music player app but is there any other music player apps. the only problem i have with the stock one is that the volume is kinda low at the max. with headphones they are fine but i use my phone for music in my car and even with my speakers on max volume within my car the music is really low. and my speakers in my car are upgraded and VERY loud. is there another music player app that has lower output volumes ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm getting a ton more time out of the batteries charged in the wall charger but I have noticed the batteries won't charge in the phone via USB. Anyone else have this problem? I like the extra time but not being able to charge in anything except the wall isn't that great. Guess i'll just use them as backup batteries.

The idea here would be to maximize battery life if you know that you are going to be away from power for a long time, and want to be sure you can use the phone if an emergency arises.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI returned my HTC hero after a week because it had a dead pixel, but I also noticed dust under the lower portion of the screen right above the buttons on bottom. I use a otterbox commuter case while has covers for the dock and head phone jack, so Im assuming the dust came in between the buttons and the bottom of the screen.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm close to my 30 days trial being up and I will be out of town when it actually is, so I needed to return the phone early. I just can't live without a working GPS function on a SmartPhone. I travel and love how smartphones allow to me to schlep on less thing (GPS).
Anyway, I had ordered the Ebay Hongkong 2 batteries & charger. Since I have no use for them I'm going to give them away. They are $10 new so by the time I list them and have them sold on ebay its just not worth the hassle.
The first person with over 30 posts who responds to this thread will get them free of charge. I'm going to send them to you on the honor system. After you get them, please compensate me for the postage. Lower 48 USA only please.

The only tome I had any frustrations was getting the clips unhooked also removing the cracked piece from the super strong adhesive. View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm moving over to Sprint.I'd rather not pay the $10 4G fee (or whatever you want to call that $10 fee), so I'll probably stick with a 3G phone.Is the Hero the best option? What I really need the phone to be able to do is voice calling, text, email, web browsing, etc. I'm not a power user, so I don't think I'd use the full power of the Evo anyway, so that's another reason to stick with the Hero.And if I understand correctly, I'd be eligible for upgrade pricing after 1yr with Sprint.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI rooted quite awhile back; I think it is Fresh 1.1.It worked fine.This morning it started spontaneously rebooting and is saying com.google.process.gapps. has stopped and all apps have forced close. At that point nothing works.I do have a Sprint contract to fix it but it has been rooted so I don't know what to do.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAre there third party battery covers for the Samsung Galaxy S? And will they work for the Vibrant since they look so similar? What I mean by battery cover is the piece of plastic you remove to get to the battery and sim card, maybe also called the backplate. Because all the accessories I see on eBay are just covers for the cover itself. In video reviews, the vibrant has two battery covers that are different. I was thinking of something along those lines so I can swap up battery covers if I get bored of one.

Also, is it possible to have the phone turn on its screen briefly when an SMS is received?
I'm talking about while using the native Messages app, not with chompSMS or Handcent.
I transferred contacts from my old phone (Samsung Instinct). One of the numbers was a voicemail for another location. On the Instinct you put in the numbers with a pause in the string which allowed you to delay entry of saved access codes until the right time. Is there a way to do this on the Hero?
