I have a china dual Sim phone, which is a replica of GS3 mini that i want to root
The phone details are:
Spreadtrum Phone
Android version: 4.0.3
Model: GT-I9300
Build number: MT6515M_C909_HT_EN_V04
how to root this phone? im a rookie in rooting
I'd want root access is to install Titanium Backup or a firewall to freeze/block access to a certain Chinese Android Market app. The app in question sends out a notification to feature new Chinese apps everytime the phone is given internet access and there are no options to disable it within the app itself. And since it came with the phone, it cannot be uninstalled, and of course, it restarts immediately if stopped.
One-clicks do not work-- they all result in directory/permission errors. For example, superoneclick will hang on step 7 and doomlord's method would reboot the phone without making any changes.
It would seem my only resort would be to use a different ROM, but there are no ROMs for this phone. Of course there are methods using similar MTK 6573 phones which are usually just clones in different casings, but I've read that using non-specific ROMs will result in a brick as there are slight differences. So how should I go about rooting this phone? What are the risks of using a non-specific ROM?
Has anyone used china made bluetooth keyboard on the galaxy s? I've just found nice pretty nice keyboard..

does it work?
I need the OTG/USB Host function on my Jiayu G3. Normally it doesn't support it..
So I did i lot of research and tests at "how i can enable it" and found some information:
1. some things point to it, like the libusbhost.so in /system/lib
2. all 5 pins of the usb slot are connected to a chip (this says nothing, i know)
3. i have found a pdf, which says that otg is possible on mt6575-77 (found on github)
So my question, how to get otg/usb host get enabled on Jiayu G3 oder m65xx phones?
I have bought an ALPS iPhone 5 clone from China. It's an excellent clone phone with pretty good specs.
My problem is trying to install the Google Play Store. I have spent hours and hours researching but cannot find the answer anywhere.
Of course I have tried downloading the play store.apk and installing it, which appears to work and installs find but stops when I launch it.
Does someone know if the app autokiller does work without rooting the phone? On the internet site the developer says I need to root the phone. But I am wondering if it's useful also for people with a non rooted phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI used to be a big IOS jailbreaker. I had been doing it for 4 years, before taking up android just a couple months ago. (and i must say, android is MUCH better). Anyway i know that basically during the jailbreaking process, the software uses an exploit on bootup and injects codes during the signature check on every level to make the idevice think that what it is running is legit, unmodified apple software. Hence why tethered jailbreaks need the original program to bypass iboot, because an exploit has not been found deep enough in the system to work in iboot aswell.
So how does rooting compare? Dont be afraid to explain using big words and in detail.
I bought HDC Storm MX phone from China. It has MT6589 quad-core (if that changes anything). It had all the chinese apps, but I removed them, and flashed gapps, and everything is working great, except the gps.It just cant get a lock on anything. After waiting a few minutes, it just found 2 sattelites, but didnt lock on them. It's rooted, and I already tried changing "gps.conf" file, but it didn't work. I attached the screen I get, when I am using GPS Status.
I dont know what the second icon from the left side in the status bar means.as there are probably no custom roms for this device?

Yesterday, i decided to factory reset my phone to wipe all data and i done that this way: Settings - Backup and Reset - Factory Reset. After this, my phone reboot and now the operative system does not launch. The screen lights on but doesn't do nothing, neather the logo appears. I've tried to pull out the battery, full charged it and some other things and remains the same.
I've tried to go to Recovery mode but i don't know how to access it in this chinese phone. I've tried Vol Down + Power Button, Vol Up + Power Button, Home + Power Button...doesn't do nothing, only black light screen.
I currently have a PC, Vista and I am looking to switch to a MAC possibly. My dilemma is I root all my phones and tablets, which would steer me away from a MAC if they weren't compatible.
Use MAC full time to root? Is it very different than a PC? & Would you recommend it even over a PC if you use a MAC?
i was trying to reply to my friend in chinese but was not able to change to chinese input. How do I do it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there any new development on this tablet. Been searching google and all I come up with that is close is the MID 7015. I guess my question is can the same roms and rooting procedures work with the MID7012.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm getting a ton more time out of the batteries charged in the wall charger but I have noticed the batteries won't charge in the phone via USB. Anyone else have this problem? I like the extra time but not being able to charge in anything except the wall isn't that great. Guess i'll just use them as backup batteries.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just got my HTC Desire yesterday (my 1st smartphone) but I can't read Chinese SMS. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Thank you in advance.
I already checked with HTC support and below it's their reply:
"I can understand the frustration with not having the Chinese be compatible with Chinese. Unfortunately, this version with Telus is an English/French only device. If you want Chinese on the device you will need to search for a 3rd Party Application on the Market. We do not get trained in the Applications so we do not support them and you will need to do some research for them. You can Google the Chinese Language Pack as well, but again we cannot support this 3rd Party Programming and I advise to research before downloading to your device."
I was wondering if there is any way for me to get the Chinese input method that the Asian U20i has onto my U20a?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've obtained a Samsung Galaxy S3 from a Chinese vendor (live in China). It seems legit (weight, size, runs Chinese (no-market) Android 4.1), but upon starting it with volume down, I don't go into download mode but into something called "factory mode". A blue menu with the option to run tests. When in factory mode and connected over USB, Windows 7 recognises two devices: MT65xx Android Phone and CDC Serial. It doesn't have drivers for it.
I've found some drivers online but they aren't recognised as the right drivers for those two devices. Result is that neither Heimdall nor Odin will be able to communicate with the phone to install ClockWorkMod. It only seems to have a standard Android recovery which does not accept my CyanogenMod Rom file (Invalid OTA package, Update.zip is not correct).
It has come an Star A3 to my hands, with Android 4.0 and among all great things of IceCream, few Chinese apps I want to get rid of
the phone is rooted. I have flash the recovery 592zn.com_recovery_Star_A3_MT6573.img with Mobileuncle tools (included in the mobile originally) and done a Boot/System/Data/Cache Nandroid backup
Apps I want to eliminate :
Baidu input (and add the standard input keyboard)
own Chinese launcher (I have already install LauncherPro, but I would love to get rid of the Chinese one completely)
UC xxxxx (some Chinese browser)
Root Explorer (Chinese version, to be able to install the English one)
ICS 4.0 (also Chinese version)
a Chinese flash-light
a Chinese dark/light switch screen
a Chinese version of the configuration menu
so, basically to keep a clean Android. how to do that ?
I have installed:
[URL]
to be able to mount the nandroid img files in windows7-x64 but I can't see anything, it ask me to format the unit (?) similar with Daemon Tools .
I wonder whether there is a way to screen shot android programmatically without rooting the phone?
On Google play, there are numbers of screen shot apps saying "no need to root the phone". But actually, most of them do need to root the phone even they said no need.I can only do it by rooting the phone and pushing my app as system app.
I have a samsung galaxy young s6312. My phone has stock android 4.1.2 jellybean. I rooted it with framaroot using gandalf exploit. Its been 2 days since I rooted my phone, and it has freezes four times in these two days. By freezing, I mean that when I am playing a game, it suddenly stops responding and the screen goes black. I have to take the battery out and reinsert it. This never happened to me with my non rooted phone.
